This popular guy falling for simpleton story is used in every other show... The guy being rich spoilt brat and thinks d whole world revolves around him... The girl being middle class wid sanskar overdose... Then wat makes dis show different?
the most important thing i noticed is no man handling... Nt even for once they showed anything of dat sort...from arjun Punj to arnav singh raizada to manik Malhotra had dis problem... D heroine always puts up wid dis behavior too... Which is wrong... Manhandling is nt romantic... It shouldn't be romanticized... However angry or hurt sameer might be... Still he stayed in his limits..He tried kissing her once bt got d answer den n der...
A heroine wid a mind of her own... She didn't like him touching her without her permission... She voiced it out very clearly... She may b madly in love wid him... Bt dat didn't mean she'll accept whatever he does...
A hero who accepts his mistakes wholeheartedly... He went out of the way to make things right...he apologized... Did slavery... Listened to her taunts... Bt never gav up... Nor is willing to give up... Hats off to dis guy... He proved that people can change if they tried... I dnt think dat makes him a doormat... Nt at all.
No love triangle..swati angle ws der... Bt she gracefully stepped aside instead of becoming a vamp
No loud make up or otp bg music... People wear simple n realistic clothes.
Realistic heroine... She isn't size zero or model like... She looks normal... Like any of us... She's chubby.. Cute n beautiful in her own way.. She's selfish sometimes... Bt dat makes her real... Didn't v all get selfish in life at times?
I can praise this show endlessly... D uniqueness of dis show is wat has created a loyal fandom... I wish these things never change about this show... Thanks to cv's for such a wonderful show... Thanks to all d forum friends too... The best forum ever😊😊😊

What I like the most about this show is that each and every character is flawed and the makes them quite relatable

Very good post!
Even I hate to see scenes with manhandling and stupid behavior against woman. What she will wear, how she will behave, east or west ...agar hero ke paas paisa ho to saat khoon maaf. He has the right to enter girl's bed room to toilet and touch every part of her body and say whatever crap he wants to tell about "How woman will be" when he is more like a street dog! 😡
But this show is absolutely not like that.
Sameer is naughty. Naughty kids are not bad. He is just sixteen and at that age every boy do what he does. Adventures---------try smoking, try to taste alcohol , class bunk, parai na karna, HW na karna, sometimes steal girl's shoes-----------these are simple mischieves. Not a crime.
Except those he is a well mannered and kind boy. Sp he always chooses the right path no matter what path he takes. And unlike 30000 other so called romantic heroes this boy is very polite and gentle to "woman". I like that as I am also a girl. 😃
The next thing is the simplicity of the story. No one is too bad here. Tayeejee, Taujee, Bishaka ...even Rakesh are everyday ppl we see around us. I can connect with their lives and things they do.
It doesn't show super rich or super poor ppl. I also belong to a middle class and that is why I can understand things they do in this show.
Well...rest of the serials in TV are actually fairy tales. I just watch those for good looking hero/heroines or good acting...or may be for good story. No one buy one crore saree or 90 saal ke daadi doesn't do disco dance in our real life world...which we see in TV serials. 😆

So I like this story because it is a simple and normal life story. With that Naina and Sameer is like us. They live a life like us and their story is more like our story. This is the most unique thing about this story. Yeah...it is an informational show too. I've learned lots of 90s and 80s songs from this show. That's a plus. 😃

Truely said!!! The story is the same a rich spoiled guy falling for a sanskari girl and then the love changing him!!!
Bt the ways CVS have portrayed this is completely different!!There is lots of drama bt with a meaning and to an extent!! There are emotions and fights but nly upto needed no overdose of it!!
Generally a guy whd go to any extent to get his girl back, but by fighting the villans...in this our sameer is fighting with himself to get his girl back!!
Sameer has crossed every limit In love... bt yet he knows his limits and never thght of crossing them!!
Hats off to CVS for coming up with the same plot story in such a uni way!!
Hats off to the whole team for taking so much efforts to portray a different our for the audience and in such a way that even current generation cud connect to that era!!!
I just hope someday the serial crosses the milestone and is rewarded as No 1 ...their efforts whd b appreciated in true sense!!!

I loved your post...

Though based on the pretense of a cliched over the ages plot Spoilt brat meets Good girl, but still it has a lot to offer ...
The manhandling point is so apt...the show sets an example for many shows ...the show is based on the that tender and vulnerable age and it's important that the makers make it in a sensible way...if they show the lead characters manhandling each other it loses all the essence there...manhandling isn't good anywhere (neither TV nor reality and somehow unfortunately our shows are responsible to glorify it) and specially teens doing that is creepy ...
One of the sole reasons why I had stopped watching Indian shows at one point is because of the glorified forms of manhandling on screen...
If it would have been some other serial till now the manaofying scenes would have had definitely good amount of manhandling and eventually a lot amount of glass breaking and hurting oneself/others scenes...but not for once in this show have they shown Sameer even an inch coming closer to Naina even though she taunts him so much...
Regarding the kissing scene ...one thing I had noticed about Sam's character sketch from the start is he is usually very helpful towards women/girls in need..he helped Naina remove her shoe stuck in cycle inspite of being angry on her.. ...when he went to kiss Naina he was under the impression that she also wanted him to kiss her...though I don't say what he did was right...but once Naina told him not to do so, not once he has come closer to her..
They give us all those romantic scenes and keep us glued to our TV sets without an ounce of sensuous/touch/manhandling scenes...now that is an achievement!

Now that is what was 90s. Every emotion, relation was real. I did mention in a different post that one can feel the love and emotions even though the leads do not touch each other which is the best part. Not necessarily everytime you need to show the physical touch. In 90s era, people loved each other through heart and mind and not only because the body was attracting! They are connected through their soul and that is why it was not important to touch to feel the love! And this is what I love the most about the show because ekta kapoor has just spoiled the Indian television industry with her shows! This show is so refreshing. There are characters like taiji, rakesh sir but still one doesn't feel the same as they would seeing Kamolika or the other vamps in kekta's shows! And that is why I am never disappointed with any of the actions of either of the characters because this is too real! We all behave that way when faced with such situations!
