Lots of people are getting angsty because Sameer is getting slapped so frequently ; even when he is not at fault. Let's remember all those episodes where Naina used to get slapped by Taiji ; half the time she didn't even know the reason.

Especially this phone call with Sameer, right after she saves Nanu:
School mein na sahi Mujhe ghar pe maar ki aadat hain, ghar pe to Mujhe maar padti rahti hain. Chitrahar mein dance karte Pakdi Gayi to thappad. Kisi ko Gane ka matlab pooch liye to thappad.
Raste mein na koi gadha aake chewing gum chip ka ke chale Jaye To bhi thappad 😉

My point is .. Sameer has never experienced this kind of family dynamics. It has been very cold and formal for him. That's why maybe he doesn't mind it very much. He is getting a chance to experience everything that was a day to day affair for Naina. Right now he considers everyone in Naina's family as his own; that's why he is doing everything happily. It's a golden chance for him to experience what family means ; even if it comes with loads of unfair thappads 😉
