How much should we expect from Sameer? Please give it a thought.

I would like to start this post with few lines from the movie Dear Zindagi😊

I have used these lines in relation to Sameer. He is a teenager who is deprived of love from his parents. We don't know about his father but his mother is totally oblivious to his needs and crave for her love. He enters a school where he meets a girl who gets him punished repeatedly...sometimes for right reasons while sometimes for reasons when he wasn't wrong (the key incident for example)

He had two choices...one to ignore her and make himself stronger and change his reputation in front of the school which obviously is a difficult path and especially for a person like Sameer who has no proper guidance. I know many of you would say that he has Nanu with him but he himself was the reason for his humiliation...so he couldn't gather this courage.
The other choice was to punish her and take revenge from her...and everyone knows that punishing others and revenge is easier than changing one own self.

So he chose the easier but a wrong way of taking revenge from Naina and her father...I agree that was harsh for Naina as she was made to believe blindly in a person who was not true to her

But what after this...he gradually got a chance to have a deep insight into Naina and the beauty of her heart...what she actually is as a person😃 She took care for him like noone did ever before...did everything which made him realise that he was wrong...he started to like her...to feel comfortable in her company...to feel as if he owned her and he belonged to her and this made him guilty...he was in a dilemma of whether to go ahead with the bet or leave it aside and save her from the humiliation and heartbreak. He chose the right path this time atleast...he decided that he himself would reveal the bet to her and face the consequences whatever they are...but he can't hurt her at any cost😃

Image result for realising mistake and correcting is important quotes

He went ahead with this decision but probably she came to know about the bet before he could tell...and she goes away from his life😭 He is shattered to the core and now what does he do?

What I want to discuss in this post is...what all do we expect a teenager to do who is standing almost alone against so many people along with his own burden of guilt Everyone known to him except probably Munna and Pandit would be having a cold behaviour towards him

Naina obviously ... his mother and step father...no doubts on this
His Nanu...he might be upset initially but later seeing him change might become soft towards him😊
Rakesh...he would try to expel him from the school...all the other teachers, Principal and other classmates...would make fun of him

So for a teenager without any proper guidance and support, who is bearing the burden of guilt of hurting the only girl who cared for him and so many people to pull him down...how do we think he would go about this? How much maturity which we very well know is needed to handle this grave situation...can we expect from him? I am really worried for him now as he has so many things to handle at the same time with the fear of her going away from him every moment
He has to bring her back...prove his worth in front of everyone and make naina believe that he has changed...changed to become a person that she would feel pride in calling him her freind...a person whom she can bank upon all through her life😊

Please share your views😊

Sorry for the long post😊

What a post dear...I especially loved the quote on how your mistakes don't define your character...it's what you afterwards do to amend or not to amend them defines you...Frankly saying, this situation is really grave even for adults to handle. But I think what one trait I love about Sameer is his determination. He might be stubborn, but this is what helps him handle life. His extreme nature, sacrificing anything for friendship...he was praising Naina for her selflessness, but here Sameer is no less...who would get themselves expelled for the sake of friends...if he can do that for his friends, imagine what all he can do for Naina...the upcoming spoilers about his hospitalization...I would really put it in line with how Sameer is...he's deeply sensitive, but wouldn't show it outside. I think he would try and become a better person first- one who deserves the love Naina has. And then he would do what all is needed in the world to do to make Naina happy again. He would win back her trust and love I'm sure...he has done it in the past, though now it is going to be really tough, but his determination would help him succeed.

Well said...I think Naina initiated it in the last episode when she shouts, Papa please! when Rakesh is hitting Sameer...hope to see her bold enough to love Sameer in front of her family

Thanks dear😃
I liked to read your take about his determination😃👏
And yes such situations are difficult even for adults to handle...he is a teenager who has no one to guide him actually

Absolutely Brilliant Post !! Loved it !! Loved it !! Loved it!!

The question is should we expect anything from Sameer?? I would say NO...The question should be what should Sameer expect himself to do to get back his image and Naina??

As you said , we don't need to choose difficult path to solve things when we don't have the capacity to do those ..So If I where in Sameers place the first thing I would do is cut my hair short ...the bet was to make her say I LOVE YOU else cut the hair...to prove to the world and Naina that I lost the bet...reality is different which he Niana and some ppl around know...Because Naina was in love with him and would have said those three magical words...so by cutting his hair ...he proves to Naina that she is much more important to him and he could give away anything for her affection...

Second to talk to her and tell her what made him accept the bet. She needs to understand her one thoughtless statement made him loose his image and also lost his mom forever ...She needs to feel guilty about it. Sameer even now doesn't know that Arjun was the one who stole the paper. So its a very tricky situation...his confession abt the pain that she and her father inflicted and the loss that he had in his personal life will make Naina come out of her filmy world.

She loves him but is not at a stage where she trusts him completely...once the talk happens ...rest will fall in place with time...time heals the wound but leaves a scar to remind you of your mistakes so that you wont repeat them.

What a lovely profound post!! Loved it! 👏
Those lines from Dear Zindagi are so impactful.. its true isnt it? One is told that to be truly creative, one needs to understand pain, heartbreak.. the conventional gives you just that... conventional, one has to go under the axe, bear the grind - just look at the language itself..everything is difficult about it..

Ok, now coming to our Sameer - he is an orphan. Period. A rich orphan who has all the hollowness of wealth and yet has not even an iota of love from his dearest ones, well except ofcourse his nanu. For someone like that, I must say that Sameer is an amazingly well turned out boy who still has his moral compass pointed in the right direction. The earlier instances of strife with Naina is something which cant be solely attributed to him.. things have not always been fair for him.. being misjudged, jumping to quick conclusions, stereotyped coz of his background, Sameer has been at the receiving end always.. and yet, given the space of time, he is one who can appreciate the truth of the matter too.

This guy is a gem.. silly bets as a teenager etc are somethings that I will totally discard in the overall scheme of things.. So far, he has beaten all expectations as given his state of mind and independent access to wealth, he had all the typical ingredients to be a spoilt, arrogant guy with no values.

In comparison to Naina too, I would hold Sameer a stead higher. Naina was first infatuated with his looks, was attracted to him.. typical puppy love.. despite his obvious flaws howsoever misconceived she had a sfot spot for him for this reason.. On the other hand, Sameer talks of her heart, her values, her nurturing character, having taken his time to understand her.. I hold this in higher stead..

I rambled on.. does it make sense?
