I was just watching a very famous comedy sitcom Dekh Bhai Dekh in youtube . This serial used to air once in a week and was hit among the masses in the year 1993.

The serial was on air for a year and aired a total of 61 episodes only.

But what I saw was when they were on episode 42 , Jaya Bachhan , the producer of the show had taken almost the entire Cast , which is 11 out of 15 of the show to London .

Along with those 11 actors , since the actors were shown to attend a wedding they took another 10 or 11 actors and then maybe few spot dada's to create the wedding atmosphere there but trust me wedding was hardly shown. It was just good locales they shot where the family was seen having fun.

Which means Jaya ji had taken somewhere around 22 to 25 actors with crew for London trip in the year 1993 which is very costly even in today's time that too when the show was just 40 episodes old.

And they shot 4 to 5 episodes there.

I am only comparing today's producers who boast about foreign trips when they hardly take 5 to 6 actors the most for Outdoor location.

And also I had read somewhere that EK had started this foreign location shoot but the fact is Jaya Bachhan had started this trend long back.

Yes ! I have subscribed to Tata Sky comedy only because they show old classic comedies.

They are fun to watch.

In fact EK had started her production with a famous comedy serial on Zee TV - "Hum Paanch"

And when she came back after a long time with season 2 of the same sitcom with the lavishness which she had started in her serials from Kyunki, she was not able to create that magic again.

Elements missing from Toshi ji's character after Shehnaj ji was replaced :

1) Mrs Iyer and Mrs. Bhalla's childish fights on North and South at the drop of a hat.

2) Mrs. iyer and Mrs. Bhallas strong friendship bond / chemistry .

3) Romance of Senior Bhallas. (I remember very well we even complained once that we don't want to see oldies romance but IshRa, but they used to be fun to watch.)

4) Comfort or Chemistry between Senior Couple.

5) Mrs. Bhallas flamboyant nature as well as dressing.

6) Mrs. Bhalla trying to sneak in loaded at happy times and also trying to make Iyers drink. Her drinking sessions with Mr. Bhalla.

7) Her loud "Oye".

Basically the character itself is killed , it's like any other old character now.
