Award shows are certainly no measures of popularity..especially the ones which run polls are the weirdest ...
Each channel that airs the award show ensures it's shows get picked and there is no head or tail to who is picked and why..
Heck in years where certain actors have not even acted in any credible shows I have seen them win these popularity contests...
If one were to run a poll in IF for most popular tv actor and actress of 2018 I could tell you the winners even before the poll started 😆...it's that simple...
There are no tv award shows that are credible period...a big reason why genuine talent struggles to rise above the clutter...most are fan club run or channel.sponsored events of I pat your back and you pat mine...
That said..KP not featuring in many of these polls has also to do with how laidback and reluctant he is as a person and 'personality'..thus his PR and personal branding is equally laidback..one interview in 6 months ..1 photo shoot in 5 yrs...rarely giving media bytes...very sporadic on social media...can't care less attitude about a lot of things and not going out of his way to 'grow ' a fandom ...
Many other tv actors are far more aggressive and far more concerned about maintaining a buddy- buddy relationship with fans or going out of the way to oblige them and hence have fans worshipping them
To each their own I guess...some like to be under the limelight and bask in it ..some don't.. some are happy just doing their job and allowing it to speak..
..And whatever anyone says or thinks KP is one of the bestest actors in his generation...awards or no awards can't change that...if he stops picking roles that do justice to his talent..that would be a true loss...not the outcome of such popularity awards...
