I know we aren't supposed to comment on other shows on this forum..
But purely from YHM being a BT product point of view...
Looking at the new promo and some opinions of those who watched the first show of the over hyped reboot ...all I can say is that ...while YHM 11pm was a big step forward for EK and gang...this show..Even if it succeeds ..Will be a huge step backwards...
While YHM moved towards realism ..natural settings ..real life urban issues and wit and boldness of scenes ..in 11pm YHM...this show is the exact opposite ...with a done to death theme...regressive outlooks..Sanjay leela bhansali type sets ..costumes and background music ...vamps lack of clothes getting more importance than the story...
It's like being transported back into the era of 2000s television where after a good few years of shows like shaanti...junoon..hasratein. .sailaab...Indian television plunged into it's most regressive phase...with the K dramas...
Most urban folk kept away while the older generation and tier 2- 3 towns became the target audience...
Yes it was entertaining...but at least not the kind of entertainment that spoke to the urban educated class...
Somehow after some good thought provoking and progressive shows ...And even decent love stories about typical urban couples and issues...like balh and YHM...BT is back to its old ways ...And for me it seems like s big step backwards...
May be the idea is that..capture the rural BARC ratings by giving that audience what they want...regressive stories with scheming vamps and actors with kilos of make up and jewellery...and loud BGs. .after all they already watch all those supernatural weird dramas happily ...
And if there is any good 'experimental' content..shift it to the web?...
YHM will then remain the only show that did the unimaginable and catered to both audiences..
Neither SP or BT might ever attempt it again...period...😕
