Raman's hand slowly let go of Ishita's as she was wheeled away.
"Ishita" he cried dropping to his knees

"Papa, papa" Ruhi shouted as she ran over to him
"Its all my fault, I know she has high BP but do I ever not stress her out"

He closed his eyes

It was like he could still feel her body in his arms
The look in her eyes as she fumbled back and passed out

Slamming his hand against the wall he shouted in agony

Raman sat next to Ishita

"You have to come back to me, what am I meant to do without you"
Raman cried, his head resting on her bed as he let out a guttural sob

"I love you Ishita, please just wake up"

Raman looked down at her pale face, his hand gripped hers, his head full of her memories

Her laugh when he would trip over something and shout at it
Her tears when she watched those old hindi films she loved so much

The way they would meet late at night while the family slept just to hold eachother and watch the stars
The way she teased him

Pushing her hair out of her face he kissed her forehead
"Wake up, please" he begged, his voice breaking

Raman stood up, his eyes blurry from the tears
He looked at the many wires attatched to her body

"Tell me off, complain im rude, tell me one more time the jewellery you like but expect me to buy the heavy kind because you know I never listen , just say something madrasan, I cant do this without you, the family need you"

Pausing he looked away
"I need you"

Raman wouldnt survive if she didnt open her eyes
She was his everything, his world, the light in his previously dark life

Maybe if he kept his eyes closed it would all be a dream
A nightmare
Because no one could take someone as good, as pure, as beautiful as Ishita away from him

Not even God.
