Chapter 4

Raman was busy in greeting the guests while Ishita was trying to console Ruhi who was crying due to her heavy dress, seeing that Raman goes to her and asked, "What happened with her?

"I don't know. May be she's uncomfortable. Ishita replied trying to console her.

"Yeah, may be for this dress. She used to wear light dresses, but still we didn't cut the cake. Raman said while his eyes scanned the hall, "Even few guests left to arrive.

"Yeah, I know. She replied.

"Okay, you give her to me. I'll take care of her. Come Rooh..! Raman took Ruhi from Ishita and went to the window side to get some fresh air, meanwhile Ishita went to attend the guest but all the time her eyes were on them. She saw Raman was handling Ruhi very easily, she smiled and heard few ladies were talking, "Raman ko dekh kar lagta nahi ki woh Ruhi ki biological father nahi hai, kitna pyar karta hai Ruhi ko..! Ishita looked at him and recalled how he took care of them in these six months, she smiled proudly.

Raman was pacing and cheering Ruhi who was giggling all the time getting her father's affection, when Toshiji called him and Ishita, they came and Toshiji introduced Ishita with Shaila bua.

"Shaila, she's Raman's wife and that little princess is Ruhi their daughter. Toshiji said smiling.

"No Toshi, Ruhi is Ishita's daughter, Raman just adopted her. Right Raman? Shaila sarcastically asked when Ishita looked on sadly.

"Shaila bua.. Ishita is my wife and according to law Ruhi meri hi beti hai, aur rahi baat adoption ki then why should I adopt her when I know Ruhi ke liye uski papa mein hoon. He said smiling at Ruhi while Ishita looked at Raman with tears in her eyes.

"Oh..! Is that mean you didn't adopt her yet? shaila asked.

"No, and I won't do it.

"Then what if tomorrow some of Rihaan's family members comes and asked for ruhi's custody, what will you do then? As Shaila said, both Raman Ishita's heart sank, they looked at Ruhi, they couldn't even imagine about separation from Ruhi.

"They won't. And what if anyone ever dare to do that then they have to fight with Raman Bhalla first. Koi aise hi meri beti ko mujhse durr nahi kar sakta. Raman said hugging Ruhi.

Toshiji saw both Raman, Ishita's disappoint face so she asked them to attend other guests while she took shaila away from them. Raman was going to leave when he saw Ishita's sad face and teary eyes. "Ishita? He slightly shook her.

"Yeah.. She looked at him.

"What happened?

"Raman, what if someone really takes Ruhi away from me. She cried.

"Ishita.. Until I am here with you, no one can take Ruhi away from you and that's my promise to you. He said wiping her tears, "Now stop crying.. Else your daughter will start crying seeing her mumma. He chuckled.

"Don't worry Ishita, Ruhi will always stay with us. He assured and left from there.

Soon Ishra cut the cake while Ruhi was in Raman's lap, they fed each other. After that people were enjoying when Mihir came in the centre, "Ladies and gentlemen, attention please..!

Hearing his voice, Raman looked at him murmuring, "Ab yeh kuch toh karne wala hai. Ishita looked at him smiling.

"Now, our princess's father that mean Raman will sing a song for us.. Mihir announced winking at Raman who was in shock, "What? Has he lost his mind? Raman said scratching his forehead.

"What Raman..! You remember you sang for our college functions in our college days.. Ishita said reminding him.

Raman looked at her amazed as he never expected that she would remember all those days. "But that was in past. Now I won't do this.

"Raman please..! Mihir pleaded, even everyone pleaded but Raman was not in mood to say yes when Ishita said, "Please Raman.. Everyone asking you, go na..!

"See.. Even now bhabhi is asking. Mihir said smiling.

Raman looked at Ishita and nodded, everyone clapped. Mihir signalled someone to dim the lights while he brought Raman in the middle and handed him the guitar, the spotlight fall on him when Raman played the tunes sitting in the middle of the people.

Raman gets up from his seat while playing the guitar when few couples joined the dance floor, he saw Mihir took Ishita on the floor, he smiled singing..

Mihir swirled Ishita when Raman held her tip of finger and swirled her in a circle and left her hand gently while walking up to Ruhi.. He took Ruhi in his arms while holding her one hand and swayed his body singing...

Handing Ruhi to his mother, he walked up o Ishita and held her hand, they swayed their bodies with the lyrics..

Ishra ends their dance while staring at each other, and when everyone clapped, they came back to their sense, Ishita looked away embarrassed.

At night, Raman walked out from washroom while remembering their dance moments, he had a smile on his face. He walked to the dressing table and was combing his hair when Ishita walked in, they steal glances through the mirror when Raman asked, "Do you want something? he turned at her.

"Umm.. Raman.. Woh.. She hesitated.

Without saying anything Ishita handed him a bunch of papers. Checking it, Raman looked at her shocked, "Adoption papers? Ishita nodded. "But why? In these six monhs, we never talked about this then why suddenly you decided this? Is it because Shaila bua?

"No Raman.. Please don't misunderstand me. See, Ruhi is your daughter toh mein bas chahti hoon yeh sare procedure legally ho jaye. Ruhi ki birth certificate pe bhi Rihaan ka hi naam hai.

"But Ruhi is Rihaan's daughter, she should know it. Raman said.

"No. Ruhi ke liye uske papa aap ho.. And you deserve this. She said lowering her eyes.

"Khanna uncle put all this in your mind right? Ishita didn't say anything when he said, "I'll talk with him. Saying this he was going to leave when Ishita stopped him saying, "No Raman.. Next morning, Raman dropped Ishita and Ruhi at Bhalla house and left for his office. In the evening, Raman was going through some financial documents when he found many mistakes there, even he saw someone 1 lakh rupees withdrawn from office account. "Mihir, come in my cabin, immediately.

After that Raman shared the issue with him when Mihir said, "Yeah.. I saw Romi withdrawing money few days back.

"Then? Why did he lied? Mihir wondered.

Ishita was preparing dinner for everyone when she heard Raman shouting Romi's name, she hurriedly ran to the hall asking, "What happened Raman? Why are you so angry?

"Where's Romi? He asked scanning the room.

"What happened bhai? Romi walked out from room when Raman ran to him and grabbed his collar asking, "What you did with 1 Lakh rupees?

"Bhai..! He stammered.

"Don't try to lie to me Romi. Mihir witnessed when you withdraw money from office account. Tujhe aisi kya zaroorat padh gayi then you took money from office and even without informing me? My friend, Seema, she is facing some financial problem, so she called me and asked for money but right now due to some official paper works, I can't receive money from Rihaan's bank account so I asked Romi to arrange for it, once I can receive the money, I would have return it to him but I didn't think he would withdraw from office account. I'm sorry. She said looking down.

"If is it so? Then you could have ask me.

"I'm sorry Raman. She apologized.

"before your husband, I'm your friend aur yeh harqat karke you really hurt me. Saying this Raman left for his room.

"Tub hi na Ishita.. Ja baat kar Raman se.. Toshiji said when Ishita left giving a nod her.

Ishita was going to get inside the room when Romi stopped her, "Thank you bhabhi.

"Don't thank me. Jo tumne ki hai, I won't forgive you but just because Raman trust you so much and if he gets to know about this, he will be hurt and that's why I am helping you. Ab iss mamle ko jaldi se khatam karo.

Ishita walked in the room and saw Raman was playing with Ruhi, he didn't bother to look at her "Raman? She called him but he didn't turn.

Raman came to her and said, "Why are you trying to save Romi?
