PART 5
Ishita was standing in the mid of the house looking around the decor. Ashok has left ten minutes ago but ishita was still glued to her place not understanding what to do and where to go. Yes she was successful in taking shelter in Raman's house but was feeling guilty for cheating him. She was feeling too guilty for betraying the person who helped her in crisis, who not only saved her but also took her hospital, and she in return is cheating him. She was feeling ashamed of herself but sadly she don't have any other option.
Ishita dejectedly walked to raman's room and saw him laying on the bed. She walked to him and sat next to him. She look at him and could see the lines of worry.
Ishita -i am sorry, Raman ji. Aap itne achche hai phir bhi main aapko dhokha de rahi hoon. Trust me I don't want to do this, but I don't have any other option. Yeh meri majburi hai ki main aapko iss tarah dhokha de rahi hoon. Kya karun, I don't have any place to go. Toh mujhe yahan chupna pada. But jab tak yahan rahungi, aapka khayal rakhungi. Aapne bahut bada ehsaan kiya hai mujh par, and I just can't return ur favour in any other way. She was saying when a tear fell his eyes.
Ishita saw it and said -raman ji, Aap ro rahen hai?? She asked caressing his cheek when he said -i am sorry shreya, I couldn't save u.
Ishita heard this and said -yeh shreya kaun hai?? Inki biwi toh nahi, jisse yeh bacha naa paaye ho.may be, yaa phir behen yaa phir koi dost. Shayad unhe nahi bacha paane ke guilt mein yeh aise ho gaye ho,shayad bahut pyaar karte honge shreya ji se, tabhi he is so shattered aftef her death. Main bhi toh tut gayi hoon, apne parivaar, apni khushiyan kho kar.but I will not be shattered. I will be strong and take their revenge. Unke khoon ke ek Ek katre ka hisaab dena hoga uss kamine ko, jisne meri khushiyan loot li. She said determined to punished her culprit when she felt hold on her hand. He kept her hand under his head and slept comfortably.
Ishita smiled and said -aur jab tak aapke paas rahungi, I will try to make ur life little better. Biwi nahi hoon aapki toh kya hua, will try to lighten ur life, will try to make u a happy person. Wada toh nahi kar sakti but koshish karungi, to make u a much happy person. She said and was getting up but he was holding her hand firmly. She tried to take out her hand but couldn't, so she stopped struggling and sat near his bed.
She sat there for sometime and soon she was fast asleep. The last few days were very exhausting for her and adding to that, she had a wound, so she slept in no time.
It was mid of night when Raman open his eyes.he was getting up when he saw someone sleeping on the floor near his bed. He went close to her to recognise her and finally after a long struggle he said -ishita, meri biwi. Saying so he was going but stopped seeing her almost shivering and blood oozing slowly from her wound changing the colour of her bandage. He walked close to her and picked her in his arms. She hide in him taking his warmth in sleep only. He made her lay down on the bed comfortably and covered her fully with the blanket. She hugged the blanket tight and slept comfortably while Raman walked out of the room. He walked to the small bar in his house, poured the whisky and start having it slowly while the shadows of the past start haunting him.
The shadow of the girl burning alive, her scream followed by the sound of bullet and screaming of a man.a man taking a girl to the hospital and declaring death, followed by the curse of that lady,
U lied, Raman bhalla, u lied. U provoked us to do all this and u couldn't do anything. Tum nahi bacha paaye usse, and now u can't save me too. U will see me dying infront of ur eyes.
She said and slowly she died with the effect of the poison she had.
Raman's eyes got teary remembering that bitter incident and he said -i am sorry, I couldnt save u. I tried, I seriously tired but couldn't. He said and gulped the whisky in a go.
It was his usual time of getting up feeling hungry but he hardly eat anything, he usually drink till late and then pass out. Sometimes ashok came and make him eat something ,but today he was busy somewhere and raman was busy in gulping glass after glass.
He was sitting and was lost in his thoughts when he saw her coming to him. He raised his head to look at her and she said meekly -mujhe bhookh lagi hai. I haven't ate anything from last two days.
Raman took sometime to register her words and then said finally -go and check the kitchen. Eat whatever u find.
Ishita nodded and went to the kitchen and almost puked seeing the condition of the kitchen.it was stinking and food was shattered all over, some of them were stinking as it was foul.
She ran out of the kitchen and said -nothing is there.
Raman -toh I can't help, u go and sleep.
Seeing no other option, she nodded and went to the bed. Raman too sat on his place for sometime and then finally got up. He wear his jacket and went to her.
Raman -lets go outside, kuch naa kuch mil jayega.
Ishita look at his state and said -u will go like this, Aap chal paoge??
Raman -u want food naa,then follow me. He said and walked out of the house. Ishita too silently followed him. They walk on the road for sometime, ishita was walking behind him but seeing the darkness around them, she walked to him and hold his hand. He look at her and said -saath mein chalo.
After walking for almost twenty minutes, they found a vendor who was selling choley kulche till late.
Ishra walked to him and raman told him to serve a plate to ishita. She asked to eat him too but he denied. She thought to convince him but stopped seeing his drunken state.
After sometime, he served food for ishita .she start eating while Raman was sitting in far smoking a cigarette. He was looking around when he saw a men looking at ishita lustily. Raman look at ishita and realised she is still in loose hospital clothes which is till her knee and also open near her waist showing her waist.
Raman got up and slowly walked to ishita. Ishita look at him and he stood in front of her blocking that man's view. He removed his jacket and covered ishita while she look at him. He was standing infront of her not letting that man to see her whej she forwarded a morsel to him. He nodded but when she insisted he had it as he was also hungry. Ishita smiled and started feeding him while he too start eating without fussing over it.
