Nice update but please don't give it humorous touch. I want raman to feel the pain he has given to ishita. I m fed up of shows treating serious issues with that touch of comedy.so please don't do that.

I introduced humour into the update to keep it interesting, but I do accept your point of view, when you look it that level it might be kind of irritating. I want to clarify that Raman's habit of giving snide comments and taunts is his defence mechanism , his way to lessen his pain. When I explain Raman's POV, it will be more clear. Thanks for your comment , it made me go through the update once more,something that I have never done before. For the same will always welcome constructive criticism.

Hello, I know that my updates are becoming more or less irregular. I am confused on how to take forward my story. so I am going to update another of my story. It is a short story which I will finish off within this month and then continue with my ff. Hope my loyal readers will enjoy this story...

CHAPTER-14

After two months...

It was a monday morning. Ishitha was busy packing lunch for Adi. She had a very busy day ahead as she had to see to Dr. Batra's patients as well that day. Just then she heard the doorbell and saw Adi opening the door. No not again!

"Mumma, it's your secret admirer again.."

Ishitha wiped her hands and walked to the living room. Aditya tore the gift paper off and opened the the box.

" What is it today?" Ishitha asked, embarrassment evident in her voice.

" Um..let's see, yes got it.."

Adi was clearly enjoying this. He opened his palms to see a pair of beautiful diamond anklets. Ishitha gasped.

" OH MY GOD! Momma he is damn serious about you, he bought you a bloody diamond anklet!" Aditya exclaimed.

" ADI LANGUAGE! He is just playing with me and even if he is not , I don't care ..I will return it, this has gone too far.."

" You don't know who he is right, or are you lying to me?" Adi asked suspiciously.

" N..NO Adi..I really don't know-"

" Mumma I don't mind if you become someone else's girlfriend..don't hold back because of me. If he makes you happy and he deserves you, please give him a chance."

After Adi left for school, she called Sarika and rescheduled some of her appointments. She was too disturbed to work...What the hell is the matter with Raman? She had asked him to keep whatever happened in Chennai it to himself, but he babbled everything like a chicken. The next day he turned up with his family, every single one of them apologetic and guilty. She did not hold these people responsible for anything..If someone manipulated her Adi like that, she would have tore him apart.

The following days the Bhallas infiltrated her mind and life at a steady warm pace, and she was fine with it. Vandu akka and Bala jiju had a long talk with Mr. Bhalla and he successfully convinced them to agree to Mihir's proposal. Yes many good things had happened because of their Chennai trip but one..That arrogant man and his attempts to woo her. He was thirty four for God's sake ,but was acting like a testosterone charged teenager.

It began with flowers sent discreetly to her flat. She let it go, after all flowers are harmless and Adi had no idea that the crazy Romeo behind his mother is none other than his father. She became uneasy when the flowers were accompanied by chocolate. She called at his office and reprimanded him, he had the nerve to give her a kiss over the phone , in the middle of a meeting!. The next day he sent with the flowers a near transparent red night dress and she thanked her murugan a thousand times that Adi was at the Bhallas that morning. Ishitha never brought up the topic of inappropriate gifts with Raman again.

Whenever Ruhi managed to drag her to the Bhalla house for dinner , if someone other that him sat near her, he glared at the person till he or she vacated the seat . He made his possessiveness so obvious .Once he was seated the real the ordeal would begin .. he would talk about the mundane things in his office, even though she made it clear that she was least interested..He demanded all her attention to himself like a toddler..He had the habit of tickling her on her waist or hold her hand under the table whenever someone else made a conversation with her. She died a thousand deaths when Romi caught them in the act once when bent to take a spoon that had fallen from his hand. Needles to say the rest of the Bhallas caught wind of it before the dinner was over as the news spread like wild fire. Even then Raman refused to leave her hand.

Raman Bhalla refused to quit. But his behaviour was getting out of hand and he had to be put in line, after all she was not Shagun Arora to fall for diamonds.

Raman was in the coffee shop waiting impatiently for Ishitha. He was too happy today. Ishitha was showing some interest in him finally! Wooing the madrassan was too tedious. She verbally abused him when he sent her flowers like a gentle man, how dare she ! He hoped that he would be able to see her in the night dress ,he had gifted her the next day, as soon as possible...He wanted to wipe out all the terrible memories that their marriage had gifted her. He knew very well that he was grasping at straws but he refused to quit without giving his maximum...

After a few minutes he saw Ishitha approaching his table. The madrassan had a determined look on her face and she was downright sexy when she was angry...Raman could almost imagine her sharpening her sword for ripping off his head.

" How dare you-"

" Coffee or tea?"

Ishitha sat opposite to him .

" Raman not now! What is your problem ? "

" What ? Is it rude to buy you coffee?"

" Raman stop it. Stop everything. I am not going to marry you, no matter what."

" What is wrong with me?I am handsome, I promise you that I will feed you , clothe you and shelter you and provide you with lots of love and lots and lots of babies.."

" We have irreconcilable differences!"

" That is a lie , I find that we are very compatible, we could have a happy marriage if you give me a second chance."

" You could have someone younger someone more beautiful than me-"

" I hate marrying young girls and the last time I married a young girl it was a nightmare . And I am positive that I will not find a woman as beautiful as you even if I search the entire universe."

" Sycophancy will get you no where."

" I was just appreciating your beauty madrassan!"

" STOP CALLING ME THAT"

" Why ? It appears too intimate, doesn't it?"

" Raman stop behaving as if I am your wife. Stop giving hopes to your family and please understand that an unresolved past and two children are stretching between us like a wide ocean."

" Ruhi loves you and don't even try denying your love to Ruhi.'

" Yes, but that does not mean that she will be happy to have me in her mother's place,"

" For your kind information Ishitha my little girl never had a mother until a few months ago, she got one after you came into our lives."

" I did not love Ruhi to get a green card into your life. I did not love her because of you, I loved her inspite of you. And what about Adi?"

" I will convince him that I will cherish and support his mother..."

Their conversation was interrupted by the insistent ringigng of Ishitha's phone. Whoever was calling her managed to bring a heart warming smile to her face...Raman always got reminded of sunshine when he saw Ishitha smile. His greatest wish was to bring such a smile on his Ishitha's face with his mere presence.

" OMG! You are back in India ? When are we going to meet?"

Raman's attention was instantly grabbed. Who was the caller? Is it a man.

" I would love to have dinner with the coolest guy in the world."

So it was a man after all!For once Ishitha's laugh appeared pretty irritating to him, Why can't she be this happy when he invites her to dinner. His invitation are rejected immediately while ...Whatever he would not stand a chance to him. Ishitha was his.

" Will you pick me up or-"

She is going to leave his 'young son' alone to go with this idiot!

" You are going to bring your bike!"

This woman is going to break his ear drum if she is going to shriek like that again and why is is she this excited about a STUPID BIKE ? If she gave him a chance he would have taken her in a BMW!

" OK OK I will wear something modern, happy now?"

He was going to wring the idiot's neck. How dare he order his Ishitha to wear anything!THAT WAS HIS BLOODY RIGHT!

" Ok will see you tonight. Bye."

Ishitha turned to Raman after finishing her call. The man's face was unnaturally red and he looked like he was going to blow up any second now!

" Raman , what happened?"

" NOTHING."

" Why are you shouting? Anyway I have to leave now ."

" To meet someone more 'important' than me I guess"

" What is the matter with you? We will continue the conversation some other time and Raman don't ever gift me something expensive, the next time it happens I will throw it down the drain."

How dare she leave him like that? She did not even give him a chance to buy her coffee! Raman was suddenly disturbed by a very bright source of light. His sight fell on the diamond anklets that Ishitha had left behind. He felt a strange pang of pain in his heart.
