Prologue
Raman sat at the dining table looking all lost and broken. Mrs. Bhalla came over and sat beside him, hopeful he'll hear her out with a calm demeanour
"Mujhe tujhse zaroori baat karni hai Puttar" an irritated Raman lashed out "Maa yahan mein Ruhi ko leke itna pareshaan hoon aur aapko zaroori baat karni hai!" in a composed manner, Mrs Bhalla spoke "Ruhi ke baare mein hi toh baat karni hai!" Raman kept his file aside and began to hear his mother with attention because it concerned his daughter!
"Puttar tere Papa ne Iyyer sahab ke saath milke yeh faisla liya hai ke teri aur Ishita ki shaadi honi hai!" Giving a sarcastic smile, laughing at his cursed fate, Raman spoke "Shaadi? Ek baar ki thi naa Maa aapke Puttar ne shaadi ... kya mila? Zindagi barbaad hogayi hai meri JABSE shaadi ki hai ... uth chuka hai mera bharosa shaadi ke naam se bhi!" Mrs Bhalla lovingly caressed her son's hair and blew a light kiss on his forehead, mouthing "Shagun se teri shaadi karwayi, woh galati meri thi magar yeh faisla toh tere Papa ji ka hai naa Puttar! Unpe toh bharosa hai naa tujhe?" Raman looked at his mother with hopeful eyes who reassured him "Puttar tere Papa ko hamesha teri fikar rehti hai. Woh jaantein hain ke tu kinn taqleefon se guzzar raha hai aur unhone yeh decision poori soojh bhoojh se liya hai! Tay'yyar rehna Puttar hume Ishita ke yahan rishta maangne jaana hai!"
Raman downcast his eyes and looked at no where in particular with shame in his eyes. Mrs Bhalla understood her son and said "Puttar saare gille, shikwe durr karde. Apna naya rishta kayyam karne se pehle beeti harr galat fehmi ko mithao aur aage ke liye apna rishta mazboot banao!"
Raman looked at his mother in disbelief and asked "Aap iss rishte ke liye kaise maan gayye?" Mrs. Bhalla gave a big smile to Raman and declared "apne bacchon ki khushi ke aage kya Punjabi, kya Madraasi! Khush raho Puttar!"
Raman took his mother's blessings and left his house with a content smile after a long time today
He walked out of his house and rang the Iyyer's doorbell

Mr Iyyer happily welcomed Raman into his house and asked Madhavi to get coffee for Raman. Madhavi gladly went over to make filter coffee for her future son in law which actually shocked Raman. When Madhavi came back after a few minutes, Raman requested her to sit a while and asked Mr Iyyer "Sir if you don't mind, main aapki wife se baat karna chahunga" to which Iyyer merrily obliged
"Haan Kanna" Raman was surprised yet again "Ma'am in the past maine aapse bahut badtameezi ki hai aur aap phir bhi mujhse itne pyaar aur apnepan se pesh aa rahi hain?" Hearing this, Madhavi passed a smile to Raman and spoke "Kanna main bahut selfish hoon Ishita ke maamle mein! Meri Ishu tumhaari Ruhi se bahut attached hogayi hai inn kuch months mein aur ab jabke tumhaare Papa aur Vishwa ne yeh decision liya hai toh ek Amma hone ke naateh main toh yahi chahungi ke meri kissi galati ki wajah se meri Ishu apni khishiyaan naa kohdeh! Aur haan Kanna mujhe khushi hogi aggar tum mujhe Amma bulao toh" Madhavi rested her case
"Amma main yeh jaanke bahut khush hoon ke Ishita aur Ruhi ek doosre se bahut pyaar karti hain magar maine Ishita aur aapko bahut buda bhaala kaha hai... gold digger tak kaha hai aur Sir yeh sab jaanne ke bawajood aap Ishita ka haath mere haath mein dene ke liye tayy'aar kaise ho gaye?"
"Raman beta hum jaantein hain ke tumhaara ek past hai jo aaj din tak tumhe taqleef deta hai aur ussi ki hi wajah se tumhaari judgement mein fadak aaya hai. Tum rationally soch nahi paate magar yeh faisla sach mein Ishita aur Ruhi ko khayal mein rakkhe liya hai maine aur Bhalla Sahab ne! Lekin hum yeh expect karte hain ke tum aur Ishu apna rishta shuru karne se pehle aa fas mein apni misunderstandings clear karoge! Aur haan beta, mujhe aacha lagge gaa aggar tum mujhe Appa bulaoge!"

IshitaRaman sat at the coffee shop in sheer awkwardness and discomfort
"Ishita tum jaanntti hi ho ke hummaare fathers ne hummaari shaadi ka decision liya hai. In that respect, aisi bahut si baattein hain jo main tummhaare saath clarify karna chahtah hoon!"
"Sure"
"Ishita main bahut sharminda hoon unn baaton ko leke jo past mein maine tumse kahi hain. Ishita I am sorry for being such a jerk."
"Raman I should be saying sorry actually. Tanne toh kitne loggon ne mujhe diye hain and why would you be sorry for just saying the truth. Aakhir humaara koi relation thodi naa hai jo main yeh expect karoon that you'll understand my sentiments and not hurt me!"
"Ishita hunaara koi rishta nahi hai magar hum banana toh chahte hain! I know Papa aur Appa ... ummm waise tum soch rahi hogi ke main tumhaare Appa ko Appa kyun bula raha hoon well unhone khud mujhse kaha hai aur in fact Amma ne bhi that's why! Toh I was saying naa ke humaare father's ne milke yeh faisla Ruhi ki betterment ke liye liya hai but I want to give each other a chance kyun ki kab tak main aur tum sirf Ruhi ke parents ban ke hi rahenge? What say you?"
A teary eyed Ishita mouthed a "Raman Subbu ne mujhe reject karte waqt mujhse yeh kaha tha ke do janno ki saath rehne ki wajah hoti hai sirf bache aur yeh jaante hue ke main shayad kabhi maa hi naa ban sakon, aap phir bhi mere saath rishta jodh naa chahtein hain? " to which Raman pressed onto her hand in reciprocation and smiled at her
