Anshika-shh Raman,let her finish.
Raman- but doctor yeh meri mattu hai.wake her up,mujhe baat karni hai usse.
Anshika-raman,u r disturbing.sit down,I can't wake up in between the procedure.keep quiet or else I will send u out.
Raman nodded and sat down.
Ishita continued narrating the flashback.
Flashback
Raman- matangi,yeh kaisa naam hai.kitna funny hai.he said laughing while ishita made a baby face saying- itna bhi ganda nahi hai.hasiye mat.saying so she start crying.
Toshiji- yeh kya kiya Raman tune.kitni mushkil se chup Karaya tha.
Raman- sorry maa,Maine rulaya hai naa,ab main hi chup karaunga.saying so he held his ears and said- sorry matangi.ur name is lovely.kisne rakha.
Ishita- amma ne,she said fidgeting toshiji's dupatta.
Raman- oh lovely name.amma kahan hai tumhari.
Ishita- Mar gayi.she said almost crying.
Raman felt bad for her and said- oh OK,but aap toh brave ho naa,aur brave bachche rote nahi.chocolate khaogi.
Ishita looked at toshiji for permission. She smiled,ishita too nodded in yes.
Raman- u sit here,I just came.saying so he went to fridge and get her some chocolates.
Raman gave her and said- tum khao.then said looking at his mother,maa I am going for tuition.
Toshiji- OK ,but time par wapas aa jaana.
Raman- OK maa.saying so he went out while toshiji took ishita inside a room and told her to take bath.
Ishita went and had her bath.then toshiji gave her fresh clothes and tied her hair in two braids. Ishita was happy getting toshiji's warmth and such a peaceful environment.
Later at night,Mr and Mrs bhalla was having his dinner when Raman entered the house.
Toshiji- aa gaya puttar.come have dinner.
Raman nodded and came after freshing up.they were having dinner when Raman asked- maa,woh matangi kahan hai.
Toshiji- she is sleeping.
Raman- maa,why u brought her home.matlab u always worked for NGOs but never brought anyone home.
Toshiji- bahut choti si umar mein bahut kuch saha hai bechari ne.lost her mother and everyone was taking advantage of her innocence. Mujhe bura lagaa,so I brought her here.tujhe pareshan nahi karegi.tu pareshan mat ho.
Raman- no maa,she is cute.but her name is strange,matangi.I never heard such a name.
Toshiji- South Indian hai.yahin Delhi ke outskirts mein rehti thi.after her parents death ,orphanage mein aa gayi .tum mazaak mat udaana uska.
Raman- OK maa.but usne kuch khaya.
Toshiji- nahi aise hi so gayi.
Mr bhalla- thaki hogi.I think we should also sleep.it's getting late.
Toshiji and Raman nodded and finished their dinner.then everyone retired to their respective room.
It was twelve at night,Raman was preparing his project when he heard someone's cry.at first he got scared thinking who is crying at this hour but then he realised the little girl must be crying.he got up and went to the room only to see her crying covering her face and was sleeping on the floor.
Raman removed her blanket and said- why u r sleeping on floor.
Ishita- main galti se bed par so gayi,sorry.
Raman- toh problem kya hai.bed sone ke liye hi hota hai.
Ishita- bed aap sab ke sone ke liye hita hai.hum toh wahan zameen mein sote the.
Raman- no u can sleep on bed.but why u r crying.
Ishita- bhookh lagi hai.
Raman- OK wait,let me check is there anything to eat.
Ishita nodded slowly.
Raman went and after ten minutes came with a tray.
Raman- yeh lo bread jam aur milk hai.isko kha kar so jaana.
Ishita nodded while raman went to his room to prepare his project.
After some fifteen minutes,Raman heard a knock on his door.
Raman opened it and saw ishita standing on the door holding her pillow and blanket.
Raman- what.
Ishita- mujhe andhere mein darr lagta hai.
Raman- so.
Ishita- main yahan aapke room mein so jaun.ek dum corner mein soungi,aapko pareshan nahi karungi.
Raman- OK,but chup chap.halla nahi karna.
Ishita nodded,Raman went and sat on his study table .he was about to start his work when saw her arranging his bed on the floor.
Raman- kahan naa bed par so.
Ishita- but tab aap kahan soyenge.
Raman think for a while and said- tum couch pe so jao.
Ishita nodded and lay down on the couch.she covered herself till her face and sneaking in between looking at Raman.while he was busy in making his science project.
After a while his eyes went on her to check her she is sleeping or not when his eyes fell on the big mark on her leg.it was a fresh wound.he got up and went to her taking an ointment from his drawer.he sat beside her and slowly applied ointment on her wound blowing air.
He smiled to himself at his good work and was going when ishita held his hand and said- haath mein bhi lagi hai.
Raman turned to her and look at her.she showed a wound on her hand.he applied ointment there too .then she start showing him many wounds,he was applying ointment.
Raman- itni chot kaise lagi.
Ishita- woh wahan humse kaam karwate the,toh lag gayi.
Raman- achcha,ab thik ho jayega ,so jao.
Ishita nodded and lay down.Raman look at her and said- tumhara naam sach mein matangi hai.
Ishita nodded and asked- achcha nahi hai.
Raman- hai,but lamba hai.I will call u mattu.OK.
Ishita- OK.
Raman- now sleep,it's too late.
Ishita- aap bhi so jao.
Raman smiled and said- actually bahut der ho gayi hai.maa dekhengi toh daantengi.I think I should sleep.saying so he switched off the light and soon they slept on their respective places.
Next day ,raman got up early and saw ishita was sleeping cuddled in herself throwing her blanket away.Raman covered her properly and then went to get ready .
Ishita open her eyes only to see raman tying knot of his tie.
Raman- good morning mattu.
Ishita- goo good morninnggg.aap school jaa rahe ho.
Raman- yes,I study in class nine.
Ishita- main bhi school jaati thi.
Raman- wow,which class.
Ishita- class four.
Raman- oh OK.school kyun choda.
Ishita- unn logon ne nikal diya,appa ne fees nahi di.
Raman- tumhe padhna pasand hai.
Ishita nodded in yes and said- main hamesha first aati thi class mein.
Raman- oh ok will talk later.getting late now.bye.
Ishita nodded slowly and wave him bye.
Later ishita got ready and went to toshiji to ask what she had to do.
Toshiji- karna kya hai puttar.main tujhe kaam karne ke liye thodi laayi hoon.
Ishita- toh kyun laayin hai aunty.she asked innocently.
Toshiji's eyes turned moist hearing her question.
Ishita- aap ro kyun rahi hai aunty,aapka bhi koi mar gaya kya.
Toshiji- tujhe kaise pata ki marne par log rote hai.
Ishita- main bhi royi thi amma ke marna par.aapka kaun mara tha.
Toshiji- meri beti,simmi.she was just of ur age. Accident ho gaya uska.tujhe dekh kar mujhe woh yaad aati hai.
Ishita- sachchi wali mar gayi.
Toshiji- yes,she and Raman were best friends.dono ek saath padhte the ,rehte the,uske jaane ke baad Raman bahut akela ho gaya hai.har samay sirf padayi mein lagaa rehta hai. Koi dost nahi hai uske,tu usse dosti karegi naa puttar.uski dost banegi.
Ishita- OK,main banungi unki dost.
Toshiji- main chahti hoon woh thoda badal jaaye.itna strict naa ho apne saath.thoda enjoy kare apni life.aur yeh sab karne ke liye he needs a friend.simmi was his only friend.after her he stop making friends and became isolated.tu karegi naa uski madad.
Ishita- OK ,main unki help karungi unhe badalne mein.thik hai aunty.
Toshiji kissed her forehead and said- thank u puttar.while ishita snuggled into toshiji feeling her warmth.Mr bhalla saw this and was happy that toshiji is finally overcoming the loss of simmi.
Later at afternoon, Raman came from school and called ishita,mattu.
Ishita came running and asked- kya hua.
Raman- see what I brought for u.
Ishita- kya laayen.
Raman took out some books from his bag and said- class 4 ki books.mere friend ka Bhai 5 mein padhta hai.usse le kar aaya hoon.tum padhogi naa.
Ishita got happy seeing books and said- books,main zarur padhungi.
Raman- good,tum achche se padhayi karo.toh next year tumhara five mein admission karwa denge.OK.
Ishita- sachchi mein.she said getting happy.
Raman- haan,Maine Papa se baat kar li hai.u start preparing for entrance.
Ishita smiled happily while raman was smiling her happy.
