Though for the first 6 months breast milk is advised for the babies but then if a mother is not present u may use formulated milk as they contains nutrients which are needed to grow.

However only breast milk is preferable for the baby but if the mother is dead then use formulated milk

P.S even in the case of my nephew,i used to give him formulated milk because my sister was dead and no one was there to feed him
