ife has been crazy busy, and I'm so sorry, but now ill try and catch up sachi! it just means i have to stay up a little later than usual because I'm temporarily taking over all household responsibilities after my mum is still away. i came home early with my dad from pakistan and am now responsible for ensuring my dad doesn't turn the house into a bomb site!
But i finally got some time to catch up. Im finally progressing through the jail track. i watched episodes 705 and 706, so i thought i would write something!
Raman and ishita were powerful in these two episodes.
Raman said it. he can't live without her. Ishita goes to jail, she disappears from home and he goes mad.
she doesn't know when her next meal with her family will be and raman tells her you have years ahead to annoy me.
its them. just them. at their very best, desperately in love selves. This track was designed to demonstrate how hopelessly in love these two are, and at the very least, as many of you recognised, it did just that.
And i think whilst Ishita loves Raman just as much as he loves her, the crux of the story, now, and through to the leap, is that Raman even when he tries to persist with in the post leap storyline, i don't love you, i hate you, no one, in the story, or the audience at home buys it.
Because this point in the story its clear Raman is consumed by Ishita. The idea of them being separated means he goes to crazy town, and risks absolutely everything to make sure she stays alive.
and that's also why in the future storyline he lives in just sheer anger, and agony and pain at the idea she never came back to him. whilst dialogues are unabashedly OTT, the sentiment, the torture he finds himself in about the fact that the love of his life spent seven years away from him, all stem from one thing. He can't live without her.
these two episodes got my brain working, after a few days jet lag, unpacking clothes, cleaning and the like. And here is what i think. Raman's life begins with Ishita, and ends on ishita. He's crazy about her. Hopelessly in love, was never out of love with her.
But being loved by Raman isn't easy, its messy, scary, intense, beautiful, all at the same time.
Raman at his best, is the raman we see in he current storyline, and in the jail track I'm now slowly going to finish, to enter the shanaya track.
He's the supportive, romantic man, that makes eyes at ishita every moment he gets the chance. He's the man that melts like he did after ishita's drunk antics in the hotel room.
At his worst, he's the man that festers in jealousy and pain. the one that in anger decides to marry shagun when he thinks ishita isn't his anymore. that's literally him committing suicide.
the catch. They're both Raman.
He's a sum of extremes. He loves ishita immensely i think, but on the flip side he has to go to extremes to try and end that love. something he fails miserably at.
and in the end, i think only one woman in the entire world is capable of being loved by such a man. And it aint Shagun. Ishita is the only one who recognises the extremes, nurtures his best side, loves him still when at his worst. Recognising that whilst he's a grown man, Raman is still childishly insecure, and can be extremely volatile. She loves him for what he is, for both his strengths and vulnerabilities.
Now coming to shaguniya:
in episode 705, manoj is proposing to her. at this point, its been raman, ashok, now manoj. at this point, she can see how desperately raman loves ishita. there is no hope to drive any wedge without becoming suspect. she has manoj, enough of a security blanket. But remember guys, even when ishita first came into raman's life, shagun could never tolerate the idea of raman loving someone else. she doesn't want him, but wants him to be stuck on her. now, at this point, she sees that he loves ishita like a mad man, just like he did in the jail track. like a man willing to walk into fire and be consumed. willingly.
and i think this is something she wants from raman for herself in the current story line. she has seen even now, after seven years apart, there is no denying that raman is still hopelessly in love with ishita, despite her attempting to do everything ishita once did. she could never be what ishita was to raman, realising what raman felt for her, can't compare to what he feels for ishita.
she tried to play surrogate ishita and the shogun we now see is the child who got denied a new toy.
she toiled for seven years, and you guys remember her excitement at the idea when the family, unaware ishita is alive, decide maybe raman should marry shagun for real. she was so close, and it comes crashing down. she thought, just how raman and ishita fell in love, raman would fall for her. shagun is delusional at best. and in her delusion, she fails to recognise that she can try to be like ishita all she wants, it could be anyone else far superior in her place and it won't make a difference, because for raman, there is only ishita.
