And now enough of my ramblings, here is chapter 75!
Chapter 75 Waking up as the water droplets from her hair fell onto his face, he was left stunned at the sight in front of him. Clad in a simple red saree, she looked heavenly. He sat in bed rubbing his eyes quickly not wanting to miss the sight in front of him for a moment. The lain red saree with the silver border revealed her back as it hugged onto her figure beautifully. He watched her throw back her hair as she was busy putting on her jewelry. A bright smile came onto his face as she put on her sindoor and adjusted her mangalsutra with a broad smile before she put on a necklace with a diamond pendant and some earrings.
And before he knew it, he got out of bed and walked behind her giving her a hug. She leaned back on him as he wrapped his arms around her waist nuzzling her neck. She looked away shyly as he pushed her hair to the side revealing her back. She closed her eyes enjoying the rush his touch gave her as his hands followed the droplets that rolled down her back slowly while he was more than happy to start his morning this way.
She moaned his name as his hands slid down to her waist and pinched her while it only made him feel satisfied. He turned her around as she hugged him and began to kiss his neck. Rubbing her cheeks against his stubbly ones, she slowly went over to his lips as they both brought their lips together. Savouring their morning kiss before the crazy day ahead, they only broke the kiss for their need of oxygen, and he immediately pulled her closer to him as they broke apart. His hands slithered up her back to her blouse's dori with which he started to fiddle bringing a blush onto her face as he continued to enjoy teasing her. However as he left no space in between them and she looked up at him, she knew he wanted more than just a few moments of teasing...
"Not now..." He slowly moved back and smiled at her holding her shoulders as he kissed her forehead.
"You look lovely."
"Thank you... Now can you get yourself and your princess ready?" She sheepishly asked while he simply sighed before he agreed thinking about how she should enjoy the festival instead of doing all this.
"Go enjoy, it's your day." She knew how he didn't want to work and was tired, but still agreed for her sake. She couldn't help, but pull his cheeks which he pushed away making her laugh.
"Aww thank you! Also she's your responsibility the whole day."
"Excuse me, I have to go to my office, there's tons of work to do."
"And your office has been informed you're working from home today." She said with pride while he looked on bewildered.
"Ishita!"
"What Raman! Can you do this much for me, please?" She sadly pouted in front of him to which he melted like every time. But this time he decided he wouldn't let her go so easily.
"Only if I get what I want in return." He took a step closer to her while she hid her smile and pretended to be very curious as she asked...
"What?"
"You...All day, whenever I want. Deal? " He bit his lower lip as she smirked trying to hide her blush.
"We'll see about that." She quickly walked away before he could say or do anything else while he was left talking to himself as he told himself she was all his today. His self-talk came to end when his daughter woke up from her beauty sleep beginning his duties as a father today...
~~~~~
She was busy welcoming everyone from the neighbourhood to their house and helping around the house when she was made to sit and eat by everyone due to Raman's strict instructions for her. She was watching everyone talking as they all were busy doing their own thing when she heard his voice from their room...
"Ishita! Ishita! Come here!"
She looked down embarrassed as everyone's eyes turned towards her and Mihika gave her a thumbs up and a wink as she quickly got up avoid the teasing that would be coming her way if she didn't go now.
She entered the room to find him sitting on the bed frustrated as he held Ruhi's lehenga in his hands. She walked up to him and tapped his shoulder. He looked up only to find her standing in front of her with her hands on her hips.
"Finally you came!"
"What was all that? You know how embarrassing it was, you yelling for me so loudly?"
"Then what else could I do? This dress thing! I don't know how to put it on Ruhi. It's so complicated!"
"It's so simple Raman, I don't know how you're over complicating things! Just give it to me and go shower yourself."
She took the lehenga from him and sat next to Ruhi who was impatiently waiting to be dressed and was fighting with the towels that were wrapped around her. He sat next to her as she was dressing Ruhi as she told him how to do everything, all the while he wasn't listening to her at all and was just resting his chin on her shoulder watching her. As she finished dressing their daughter into the traditional outfit, he moved back as she put Ruhi in her crib...
"See how easy it was! And you screaming for no reason."
"I think I should practice on you."
"Raman, such a cheap joke."
"Okay sorry. Now how mad would you be if I told you I could have easily dressed Ruhi myself? I called you for another reason..." He winked at her while she looked at him shocked. She got up to leave, but he grabbed her wrist before she could go.
"Oh no madrasan, you're not going anywhere." He pulled her closer falling back onto the bed and pulling her along with him making her land on him.
He rolled over coming on top of her as she had tried to loosen his grip on her. Tucking the ever wandering strand of hair behind her ear, he placed a kiss on her cheeks leaving a pink tone on it. As he began to trace her face with his fingers, her stomach churned as she felt his breath on hers. She stopped resisting his grip and loosened up whispering his name.
As he was placing small soft kisses on her face, they were interrupted as his mother called for her and Ruhi began to turn fussy in her crib wanting to go out. They both looked at each sighing as they were interrupted once again. He got up and helped her up as she took Ruhi outside and he finally went to get dressed...
~~~~~
He walked dressed in a white kurta out to see many women sitting in the living room getting their mehendi done. He looked around at the entire celebration happening in their house. He could hardly remember the last time their house was this lively for this festival, and a small tear couldn't stop from in his eye as he remembered the last time his mother had celebrated Karvachauth. He had always seen such grand celebrations every year on this day until his dad left them all. Whenever he would remember his parents on this day, he had always wanted to have the same love with his wife or maybe even more, but he couldn't stop his frown when he remembered his first marriage. She had never fasted for him claiming she couldn't starve herself for silly things, and though he never believed in all these fasts deeply, he had slightly hoped that someone would ever want to do this for him. And that's when a smile appeared on his face as he saw the reason their house was celebrating today once again...
She was happily chatting to Mihika as Ruhi played in her lap. Her one smile made him forget about all the sad memories she was thinking about. She had always done this. Every sad memory he had related to his first marriage was erased because of her love and the happy memories she gave him to replace those old ones. He snapped out of his thoughts as he saw her looking at Ruhi with a bored expression.
He looked around seeing everyone enjoying and had their palms filled with mehendi while she sat with Ruhi looking at her bare hands. He walked to the center of the room and caught everyone's attention as he walked over to her. He smiled at her and Ruhi as he kneeled down...
"Haw, Ruhi! You look so pretty, my princess! Now I want to be with my gorgeous baby. There's so much smelly mehendi here, so Papa and you will go outside. Mumma can stay here and get her hands done." He reached over picking up the very excited Ruhi and as she handed her to him, she quietly whispered in his ear...
"Thank you." He gave her a smile as he took Ruhi out and she sat down getting her mehendi done. Mihika leaned over asking what design she would be getting done and Ishita simply told her it was a surprise...
"Surprise for me or Jiju?"
"Kuch Bhi Mihika! I'm not getting anything special." She looked away though she knew this was something special, for them. She had quietly told the girl what she wanted done and kept her hand hidden from everyone else...
~~~~~
Sitting down after handling his daughter's tantrums for a good hour, he saw his mother eating her lunch while Ishita and Mihika were nowhere in sight. He asked for them only to be told they were in Mihika's room and Ishita hadn't eaten her lunch yet. Santosh found herself talking to the air as he left for the room even before she could finish her sentence.
"Ishita!" He marched towards her as she was busying talking to Mihika.
"Raman, thank God you came back. Just in time for lunch. I'll-"
"Exactly, time for lunch. And what are you doing? Have you eaten yet?"
"No, I-" He didn't let her finish.
"Why?"
"I was just getting to that." She lifted up her hands showing him the back of her hands like she had shown everyone else and he realized why she wasn't eating.
"Now do you still want to scold me?"
"Sorry, but you could have asked Mihika-" He was cut off as Mihika also lifted up her hands making him face palm as he looked at the two sisters laughing at him. He asked Ishita to come with him while she told him she would eat soon.
"No arguments, come with me." She got up following him while Mihika giggled at the two...
He took her to their room placing Ruhi on the bed and asking her to wait for him. He walked out only to come back in with her lunch in his hands. He sat down next to her and started to feed her with his hands. She ate without a word and watched him as he was quietly doing everything for her. She didn't realize she was staring at him until he tapped her shoulder asking her what happened. She didn't say a word, but simply opened up her hands to him showing him the palms of her hands.
As the mehendi went diagonal across her palms, he didn't notice the flowers or the tips of her finger, all he could see was the engraved R-A-M-A-N in between the flowery design. She gave him a faint smile and watched his happily surprised reaction as he looked up and her and carefully brought her hands closer to his looked at his name. When he looked back at her, she finally said something...
"I couldn't do this on our wedding. And you threw us a party of our own, so I did one more thing to make up for everything we missed back then...and I couldn't even fast, so-"
"Shhh...it's beautiful. Thank you. It's all I need."
He gratefully looked at her overwhelmed she wrote his name when he remembered how she had avoided the same situation by simply putting a "R" during their wedding. Realizing his emotions that were similar to hers, she put her arms around him taking him into a hug. As they held onto each other for a few moments, his mind started to change gears again...
"Careful Ishita, don't get mehendi on my kurta, otherwise people will think of it as something more than a hug." He caused her to break the hug and she was about to slap his arm when he pointed to her covered hands making her move back.
"But you know I can always change my clothes if you have other things in mind." He winked at her making her open her mouth to say something, but she stopped and pouted at him. She tried to change the topic, so he would get his mind off her...
"Forget all this, you fed me but today I can't feed you. So now?"
"Don't worry, I'll eat myself you just enjoy yourself and if you need to eat, then call me." He left her alone taking Ruhi as they both left with a smile...
~~~~~
The rest of the day was a blur as everyone was in the festive mood. They had neighbours dropping in all day congratulating her on their first Karvachauth while some of his relatives also joined them. He even surprised her by calling her parents as well. She was so immersed with the guests and he was busy with Ruhi and with his relatives as well that they couldn't spend any time together though they tried to.
He had caught her alone when she was feeling a bit sick, but that was short lived as his cousins came in worried for their Bhabhi who tried to tell them she was okay, but they were just like their cousin and wouldn't stop surrounding her. He left there disappointed as well and now all he wished for was the moon to come out so, they could be alone after everyone else left. She on the other hand was talking to everyone, but kept on looking out the window hoping for the moon to come out just like he had.
It seemed like luck was on their side as the moon came out soon after dinner. Ishita had just finished eating when Mihika excitedly came in exclaiming the moon had come out so she could break her fast. Ishita looked over at Raman who was more than relieved to see the moon out and was asking her to hurry up and do all the rituals. She found his sudden excitement strange, but then went along with it.
As everyone went out to the balcony of the house, the two of the snuck onto the balcony of their room away from everyone else handing Ruhi to his mother. She careful got everything ready while he saw the food on the plate and asked her to hurry. She became happy seeing his eagerness and started the rituals.
Lighting up the diya, she looked at the moon through the sieve while he kept his eyes on his moon. His eyes were fixed on her as she offered water to the moon sending silent prayers for him even though she couldn't fast for him. She turned around to look at him only to see him already looking at her. Smiling she looked at him through the sieve as well, once again being thankful for him coming into her life. As she forward the pot of water to him, he quickly gave her some to drink and feed her a morsel from the filled plate completing her first Karvachauth...
"So our first karvachauth. And it was perfect Raman."
"It sure was. But now I'm starving. Hurry up and pass me that plate. My stomach's been growling since the morning, gosh how do you all think about going a whole day without water or food. I hardly-" He bit his tongue realizing what he just said while she looked on with teary eyes.
He had fasted her for. She couldn't fast because she was carrying their baby and for him, her long life and health mattered more. He thought if all these was somewhat true, then he would do this for her.
On the other hand, she was overwhelmed seeing his love for her. She felt horrible this whole while the she couldn't fast for him, but now she felt like this was one of the best Karvachauths she might ever have. Her husband had fasted for her without giving her a hint about it.
She walked forward with the pot of water and brought it his mouth which he silently took a sip from. She made him sit on a chair and with a faint smile on her face, feed him his dinner with her own hands. He only watched as her tiny smile and her tearful eyes spoke her emotions for her and he knew his fast had been successful in giving her some happiness. As he finished up, he took him into a hug...
"I love you Raman."
"I love you too."
"But never stay hungry for me."
"If you can, then why can't I?" She just looked up at him and gave him a small peck on his cheek while they stay together in each other's embrace looking out at the moon...
~~~~~
After everyone broke their fasts and had a lavish dinner, they had all began to head to their respective homes. Ishita and Raman also came out of their room as Ruhi needed to be fed and everyone wanted to bid good bye to them. As they slowly started to send off guests, Ishita handed Ruhi to him and went off.
He made sure everyone was gone and things were getting cleaned up. Once Ruhi was fast asleep, he handed her to his mother and began to finish the cleaning and making sure everyone was getting home. It was then when he noticed Ishita had been gone for a while and he didn't see her anywhere.
He looked for Ishita everyone, asked everyone about her, but she was nowhere to been seen...
Seeing his worried state, his mother approached him and asked him what was wrong. When he asked about Ishita, he found out she had simply gone out a small walk for some fresh air after the tiring day. A tiny smrik appeared on his face as he knew she would be alone right now and found it the time to spend alone with her...
~~~~~
He rushed out their home and looked around for Ishita. He was near their neighbour's house when he heard her. She had her back turned to him as she was busy on the phone. Raman walked behind her only to hear...
"But I love you!" He stopped in his tracks and wondered what all this was about when he heard...
"Raman Bhalla! Is that all you can think of? What about me? For God's sake stop worrying about him! I love you and you love me, no other person comes in between! So simple!"
Precap
"Ishita what is all this?!"
