Chapter 57 "Why Raman? Is there any problem?" Clueless Mr. Iyer asked his son-in-law who immediately held onto Ishita's hand when the family wasn't looking.
While Raman fumbled trying to find answer, Mrs. Bhalla and Mrs. Iyer found themselves holding in their laugh as they looked at Ishita and Raman's faces. Ishita looked at Raman's face helplessly as he tried to understand what she wanted. She seemed to be excited yet a sadness in her eyes. He looked back at his in-laws who were looked so hopefully about spending time with their daughter. He knew her parents must miss her and she probably did as well seeing her reaction when she met her mother, but he couldn't let her just go and leave him alone, even for a few days.
He knew it was selfish and he hated doing things for his own means now, but this time he wanted to be selfish and have Ishita with him. So he tried to reason with his in-laws by telling him to have her over only for the day when he would be at work anyways. That way she would be able to meet with her parents and enjoy while she wouldn't stay away from him either...
"Appa... I mean I know why you want her over,-"
"Why not Mr. Iyer. See even Raman agrees. After all you are her parents and you must miss her. She hasn't even seen you since the wedding. You two should take her over for a few days." Santosh interrupted so their plan would work out.
"Ma, let me talk first. Amma, Appa I know you miss Ishita and even I want you all to spend some time together. She's your daughter and always will be. But...she's my wife and Ruhi's mother too now. I need her with me too and Ruhi needs her as well. We both have really gotten used to her, so if she will go even for a few days, it's not going to feel right. So I was thinking..."
As he talked all 3 parents were left stunned by how true their love was. He didn't say I love your daughter and can't let her go yet said the same thing with his true emotions just pouring out. They really didn't want to separate them even for a moment and the mothers looked at each other with wet eyes. They both didn't want to do this anymore, but then knew this was only for their kids and 2 days of separation would just bring them together for a lifetime. So Santosh signalled Madhavi to go and so she did before Raman could suggest his idea...
"Then bring Ruhi! After all we haven't bonded much with our granddaughter! It's going to be perfect the right?" Her mother was so delighted while her father didn't seem any less happy.
"But-" he tried to say his words, but was cut off by his mother again...
"So then it's decided! Ishita and Ruhi will go to your place for 2? Days?"
"That's great, be ready Kanna we'll pick you and Ruhi tomorrow morning." Her parents started to talk excitedly about her visit and Santosh joined in the conversation while the couple was left sulking. Raman looked at her and quietly whispered...
"But...I need her too." While she looked at him sadly. Without another word, he walked sadly to their room while she walked back sulking helplessly.
As they left, their mothers started to smile and thanked each other on the success of their plan's beginning. Mr. Iyer looked at the two women confused and asked them what was going on...
"Mr. Iyer actually we asked you to invite Ishita over to your place for a reason."
"What reason? Is everything okay?" He worried wondering is anything was wrong since they wanted his daughter to go back home.
"Everything's fine Vishwa. Santosh and I made this plan to make Ishita and Raman realize their love for each other."
"Love? Realizing? Plans? What is going on here? And what did you just make me do?!" he questioned his wife worried about what he just put the kids into.
"Relax Vishwa, and don't talk so loudly, we don't want the children hearing. Santosh and I have been noticing both Ishita and Raman since they've arrived. They're changed Vishwa, and you know what, they're in love. The children love each other. Can you believe this?"
"Love?" his eyes sparkled with hopes of his daughter's happiness.
"Yes love! We've both seen it. But unfortunately those two haven't. Or they are denying it. We talked to both of them and not once did they agree with us when we talked about love neither did they deny it. Somewhere they both are also thinking this is true, they are maybe thinking about it or starting to realize what they feel for the other is love and from their talks it's clear that they have very deep feelings."
"And how will taking Ishu help them realize?"
"When they will be separated, they will realize what they mean to each other and how deep their love really is. It will hurt them inside, but Santosh and I will talk to them and try to bring out their feelings and help them understand what they are trying to push away and deny. And once that happens, they will accept their love!"
"Madhu, Santoshji, do anything you want, but don't hurt the kids too much. You know what Ishu's been through Madhu and Raman is a very nice boy. Don't push them too far."
"Not at all Mr. Iyer, even I don't want to hurt my kids, and Raman hasn't had an easy life either, but I know once they know their love for each other, their lives will be filled with even more happiness than now." Mrs. Bhalla looked at the door to their room and smiled thinking about how happy they would be after 2 days of separation while Mrs. Iyer was equally happy, but Mr. Iyer was still unsure about how their children would take this...
~~~~~
She entered their room to find him sitting standing in the middle of the room looking at nothing. He was just lost in his own thoughts and this time she knew what he was thinking...about the next 2 days. She didn't know what to do. She felt so helpless and confused. Her heart was split into two pieces, she had missed her parents so much after her marriage and this would the best opportunity to spend time with them, but Raman...she found it so hard to be without him on the day he returned home late because his meeting was far away, so 2 whole days with him by her side. Even if it was just for a few hours and all they did was eat and talk and go to bed...after a few small pecks here and there. But it was all she needed to end her day on the perfect not and now for some reason the thought of being alone in her old bedroom didn't seem so nice when she had experienced sleeping his tight embrace and waking up to his smiling face.
He wasn't in any better state of mind. Why did no one listen to him? Everyone was so busy with their own talk that no one listened to him and he didn't have it in him to break the hearts of her parents. After all they had given their daughter to him, but how come no one thought how he would stay without his wife for 2 days? His day was all about her. Right from his morning which started with seeing her to turning to her for everything he needed to thinking about her whenever he had time at work and then finally being with her before he went to bed and sleeping with her in his arms. He knew it was just 2 days, but it seemed like it would be so long and hard, he just couldn't stay away from her. And he that's when he noticed her through the mirror and lost it.
He almost ran to her and took her into a tight hug as if it would stop her from leaving. Burying his head in the crook of her neck, he begged her with a chocking voice...
"Ishita...please don't go."
"Raman..." she hugged him back tightly and pecked his cheek making him pull out of the hug. She wiped of the tear that wanted to escape from his eyes while he realized what he was doing to her. He shouldn't do this and make her feel bad about leaving if that's why she wanted...
"I'm sorry I don't know what happened all of a sudden."
"It's okay Raman, even I don't want to leave you."
"Then tell them..."
"But I want to go as well!"
"What?" he looked at her confused while she went and sat on their bed as he followed...
"Raman, look at my situation I am so confused. I don't want to leave you and go, but I also don't want to lose a chance to spend some time with my parents. I miss them so much Raman. But I know if I go there...I'll miss you just as much. I hate this so much." She put her head into her palms and he pulled her into a side hug holding her head close to his heart...
"Ishita...if you really want to go, I won't stop you because you said we won't make compromises of any kind. Your parents are a part of your life and very important to you. They told you their wish. And Ishita, it's not that I don't want you to go. Never, I want you to meet with your parents and spend time with time. But I have my own wish as well. It's kind of selfish, but it's what I want. I don't want you to go. I'll be alone if you go...You will go, Ruhi will, our baby will...and then what will I do? For 2 days, my life will be empty because it's all about you 3."
"Do you think I would like to keep Ruhi away from you? She's been with you her whole life! And I've been with you for over a month, it's not easy for me to go and make a decision. I can't break my parents' heart or yours."
"You can decide...and I'll happily take your decision."
She pulled apart from him as someone knocked on their door and she opened it to find her strangely very excited mother asking her to pack her bags for tomorrow and gave her a hug telling her how happy she was to spend some time with her after so long. She pulled back from the hug and smiled at her mother before she looked at Raman. He put up a smile and nodded positively reminding her he was okay with whatever she decided...
"Don't worry Amma, I'll pack my bags on time for tomorrow..."
And he kept his smile when she looked at him, but both knew it would be difficult to stay apart even for 2 days...
Precap:
"Raman, look at your state! You're in love! You've gone crazy over her!"
"What Ma? Love with Ishita...it's..."
Suddenly a thought crossed his mind...they say you can't stay away from a person you love...that being away from your loved ones give you the feeling of emptiness and loneliness...just like he was feeling away from her...
~~~~~
"Ishu look at what you're doing to yourself! You're in love! You're crazy for him!"
"What Amma? Love with Raman...it's just..."
Suddenly a thought crossed her mind...they say you can't stay away from a person you love...that separation from loved ones pricks you...just like it was hurting her...
