Chapter-41

SOME MORE LIES

He kissed her teary eyes trying to wash away the sad curves from her lips. The Ishita who glowed the other day...the ethereal smile on her face...nothing was there. A fragile figure who was pleading him in that darkness. That was her. His caresses didn't make any difference. She wanted nothing but support. Which he cannot give her with all his heart.

"No Raman...I won't agree for this. I won't agree for an abortion...yeh kabhi nahi ho sakta!" Ishita cried in his arms.

(It won't ever happen)

There was no hope. Still he wanted to give themselves a chance. A chance for their baby. All that he could do then was just hold her. Assure her that everything will be fine. She never asked him anything. It is the first time she is asking. No. She was pleading.

She was right. The pain would be the same no matter what. But...she going through another trauma...that put him into a dilemma. In an indecisive mode. He could only stroke her to sleep. Consolance needs some words which were nowhere there in him. Instead he needed a shoulder to cry on.

MORNING IN BHALLA'S

"Ishita puttar...Raman is here..." Toshi said looking at Raman who came down stairs with Ruhi to have breakfast.

Mrs Iyer barged in calling Raman making everyone turn their attention towards her. He asked her if everything is alright for which she shook her head in negative. Ishita touched her amma's shoulder asking to calm down and tell her what happened suddenly. She sat on the sofa saying, "Subbu..."

"What the hell is he doing here?" Raman fisted his hand and was about to walk out to punch Subbu.

Gripping his hand Mrs Iyer said in a weak voice, "I know he did bad. I was also did the same with you and Ishu. Lekin tumne mujhe maaf kiya. Why you're not giving him a chance?"

(But you forgave me)

Raman looked on not feeling like replying her while she continued, "Dekho Raman...he broke his leg in an accident. He's here with his amma. So...please...try to stay out of it. After all he is my anna's son. I came to warn you. Don't come near Subbu."

(See Raman)

"Amma...kaise baatein kar rahe ho ap? Warning...?" Ishita asked not understanding what her amma meant.

(What are you saying amma?)

"Tum bhi door raho usse. Don't know whether he had really changed or not. It's better you both stay away from him. Adjust until he leaves for Chennai when he'll get well." Amma cleared the air.

(You too stay away from him)

"Don't be...I'm not gonna ruin anyone."

Everyone turned to the doorway hearing Subbu's voice. He was there with his amma. Raman was silent because Ishita was beside him gripping his hand firmly. Controlling him. Not giving him a space to vent out his temper.

"I know you're angry on me Raman. Ishu...let him beat me. Because I deserve it. I'm regretting everything. And I'm so sorry...I did bad...by leaving you...being rude with you...and...acting selfish...I'm extremely sorry..." Subbu sobbed in front of them.

"You...I won't believe you..." Ishita said shrugging off his words as some drama remembering how he talked to her when they went for the shopping.

"I know you're doubting me. That day in the shopping mall...I was saying that nothing is over between us because I still need to apologise to you. You're yet to forgive me. I mean it Ishu..." His eyes welled up.

"You met him in the shopping mall?" Raman's voice dangerous than ever.

"Raman...voh...haan..." Ishita shivered.

"You didn't tell me. Why did you hide it from me?" He looked angrily at her.

"I...I thought you'll get tensed...you were already moody...so..."

"So what? You met this...man there...and you hide it from me?"

"Is it a big deal Raman? Stop overreacting." She screamed on top of her throat.

"I'm overreacting? Wow...so you feel my concern...just a shitty over-reaction! You know what...I hate this 'Subbu of yours'. I just hate him. I can never tolerate him no matter what. I don't care if he had changed or not. What matters to me is this bloody bas***d is your ex lover!" He shouted when the whole family was watching the new drama unfolding in front of them.

"You're still stuck there Raman? He was...was my lover. Now he is nothing in my life. How many times I need to assure you that 'I'm only yours...' He is no one. And FYI...I trust him now. I believe that he had changed. I don't care about his presence because all I care is you and you only Raman..." Ishita's voice turned into a soft and melodious one.

"But...I..." Raman felt weak in front of her love.

"See Raman...you trust me right?" She cupped his one cheek in her hand.

"Yes I do...but..." He held her hand in his and patted it's back.

"No more buts...let him be there in amma's house. We got nothing to do with it. Nothing..." She said lovingly looking at his bended face.

Subbu smiled and took a step forward along with his amma who was supporting him in walking, "I'm sorry...my entry had created such a huge fight. I really am very sorry. And...trust me Raman...I won't ever come in between you both. She is my past. I don't want to remember all that...It's all over. And I'm genuinely sorry..."

"Yeah...but...still...I can't trust you that soon..." Raman said shaking his hand with Subbu.

"It's alright. Still I can earn what I want..." He said looking at Ishita making Raman ask him what he meant. "I mean...her forgiveness!" He smiled shifting his gaze to Raman who looked at Subbu suspiciously.

BACK IN IYER'S

"What you're up to Subbu? All this accident drama was just for an apology? I'm not going to let you beg in front of that Raman Kumar Bhalla...!" Subbu's amma fumed in anger recollecting the way Subbu stood in front of Ishita and Raman.

"Amma...just calm down. I had planned that accident of mine and a very good one for Raman as well. Before Raman dies...I wanted everyone to trust me. They should not doubt me. What'd I do with a broken leg?" Subbu smirked at his amma.

"So...you were acting...?"

"Everything is for your wish amma. Ishu will be your daughter in law very soon. All I want to do now is...get rid of that bloody Raman Kumar Bhalla. He's the one who's stopping me. Only if I dared to do it before...Ishu would had been mine long before...!" He clenched his teeth.

"Haan...he should die. How dare he call you a bas***d in frong of me?" Subbu's amma punched on the table in anger.

"He had changed Ishu a lot. Not anymore. I'll make her mine soon. He's gonna die..." He smiled sheepishly.

RAMAN'S OFFICE

Mihir was on a call. Romi patted him from behind to inform him that Mihika is awaiting him outside. He rushed out of his cabin and reached out to Mihika in the waiting area.

"Sorry Miku...I totally forgot about our meeting...tell me...why you wanted to meet me?" Mihir asked sitting beside her.

"I don't know...Just like that. We're hardly getting any time to spend together. You come to office in the morning and reach home at late night. I'm nowhere in your schedule!" She grizzled.

"What Miku. I'm already tensed and you're kind of pissing me off!" Mihir made a face.

"So...It's about akka...?" Mihika tried to know if what she felt is right.

"Yeah... He is so worried. He told her everything. But she's not ready for an abortion. It can get complications...he is scared of her life...what if he loses her Miku...?"

"No Mihir...nothing of sort will happen. Everything will be alright. I feel like giving akka a chance. Just give her wish a chance. She so want to feel this phase of being pregnant. Let's not put her into tension. We had told her nah...now she knows...she wouldn't be having any expectations...but...a mother can never kill her baby...so...we need to be calm and do support her."

"You're right. We should support her. But...if anything goes wrong...my bhai..." Mihir trailed off.

"Don't be so pessimistic Mihir...! I came to share my worries with you but ended up consoling you. I'm way more stronger than you buddhu...!" She smacked his head.

"You don't know how much he loves bhabhi...He can't even breathe without her..." Mihir sighed.

"I know Mihir...and my akka is competing to prove that she loves him more!" Mihika said making Mihir laugh in his tears.

"Madrasan...Shall we go for a lunch date?"

Raman asked Ishita planning to clear away the problem took place between them. He could not talk to her after the morning incident. He was busied by Mihir who had shown him a file reading which he just walked out while Ishita was talking to Subbu and his amma.

"You come home early. I'm in no mood for a date!" She hung up the call angrily.

"Oh madrasan is so angry...!!! Kya karun??" He tapped on the desk thinking of ways to cajole her. Finally he texted her not expecting any reply.

"Please yaar...I'm sorry. I'd not have reacted that way..."

"Are you there? I'm begging your pardon ma'am..."

"At least send blank message yaar..."

"Where should I come?"

"Thank God you replied! Hmm...well...come to the hotel opposite to my office. We'll do lunch there. And yeah...take Mihika along with you..."

"Yeah sure..."

"I love you..."

"I'll think..."

"Waiting..."

"I'm angry Raman..."

"Let me cool you down."

"Stop flirting."

"Yep...stopped. Real bye...come fast...be careful."

"Hmmm..."

OUTSIDE

"Yeh Miku bhi nah..."

Ishita walked to and fro in the parking lot after hanging up the call asking Mihika to come along with her in the lunch date. She let her know that she is out and would be there in ten minutes. As she had informed, she was there in an auto.

"Jaldi...he'd be waiting..." Ishu gave the key to Mihika who without wasting any time started the car.

"Oh...fast Miku..." Ishita said rubbing her hands.

"Are you nervous akka? It's just jiju..." She laughed.

"Just jiju matlab...he's more than enough to make me nervous. You don't know him." Ishita's tongue slipped making Mihika catch the words and embarrass her.

"Jiju is more than enough...!!! Arey wah akka...nervousness...and...you're blushing...what's going on...? Special date hai kya? Should I drop you and...let you both stay...alone?" Mihika giggled.

"That you should. He's going to apologise to me Miku...for the morning incident. It'll be so special...You stay away...cause you're my new driver cum bodyguard!" Ishita started laughing.

Mihika looked on in contentment for a second and resumed driving. She felt again that everything will be fine. She has a tint of hope somewhere deep down that a miracle would happen. Parking the car she looked at her akka and signed her to get out as her hubby would be waiting. Ishita smiled cheekily and hugged Mihika.

"I was kidding...you should be with us. Witness!!!" She pulled Mihika's cheek.

Meanwhile the man who was haired by Subbu to kill Raman in an accident was sitting in his car awaiting Raman to walk out of his office while Ishita and Mihika were standing near their car looking on to see if he is out there.

When Raman came out of his office building Ishita sighed thinking that her wait is over so was the killer. He crossed half of the road looking and smiling at Ishita.

"See...he's hot in that black shirt!" Ishita voiced shamelessly to Mihika about her own husband. "Chee akka...he's my jiju...I can't drool over him!" Mihika made a face. "No one should. Because he is mine." Ishita rolled her eyes at Mihika making her giggle.

The killer started the car and aimed Raman. Watching the car coming towards Raman as if it is out of control Ishita screamed "Raman...!!!" and was about to ran towards him. Mihika knowing well that her akka will end up doing something drastic pushed her off making her fell down hitting her head on a stone.

"Jiju look out...!!!" She cried out and ran to him thinking that Ishita is safe. In a blink of a second Raman realised what's going on around him. What he could only see was Ishita laying there. Her head soaked up in her own blood. Mihika was running to him oblivious of it and he was running towards Ishita seeing which Mihika thought that he is aware of the car coming to hit him. All this while the driver was clueless of what's going on around.

"Ishita..." He screamed making Mihika look back and get the shock of her life.

The driver passed by them failing in his mission. Both of them ran to Ishita who laid there unconscious. He took her in his arms and cried out trying to wake her up. "Ishita...open your eyes...Yaar don't do this to me...hold on...please..." Mihika started the car while Raman made Ishita lay in the backseat keeping her head on his lap.

"I'm sorry jiju...I wanted her to be safe...but...ayyo kadavule...!" Mihika felt her vision blurring up in tears.

"Stop it Mihika...and drive fast..." He shouted at her not wanting to hear anything but reach the hospital ASAP.

Not sure whether you should kill the baby yet. If you keep the baby alive them Subbu will have another obstacle to overcome.

My take is change from the story on tv...what if the baby survives all odds inspite of idiot Subbu and guily Raman...I'd love to see what happens then.
