He came home earlier finishing off all his meetings and work as soon as he could. He kept thinking back to her excitement when he had mentioned going out. A sad smile appeared on his face as he thought about how simple evening out made her so happy. She didn't ask for anything special till today and even now she simply agreed to what he said, not asking for anything else. She was the one woman who he would want to see demanding things and he would give her what she wanted without hesitating or complaining.
As he walked into the house, he heard loud laughter from their room and throwing his things on the couch went to go see what was going on. Leaning against the door, he watched his wife and sister-in-law having their own gala time with his daughter. Ruhi was sitting in Ishita lap playing with a new toy while Ishita was fixing her hair. A laugh escaped his mouth as Ruhi refused to let Mihika touch her hair.
"Who is she like? So much anger." He said a loud getting the attention of the 3 girls. Ruhi frantically waved her arms as he walked in and Ishita handed her over to him. As he gave her a kiss, Mihika spoke up...
"Jiju, she's seems to hate me."
"Of course, she was missing her dad so much yesterday." Ishita told her while Raman shook his head at Ishita telling her not to say anything.
"Ru baby! Don't be angry." He nuzzled her getting giggles from her and smiles from the two women sitting on the bed. He looked at his daughter dressed in a new dress and her hair put into ponytail with sparkly orange clips. He knew whose choice she was wearing and looked at Ishita before turning back to Ruhi.
"By the way, I didn't recognize you! My baby is looking so pretty today! Thanks to mom and maasi." He talked to her in a childish tone lightly pinching her cheeks.
"Maasi?!" Ishita questioned.
"Right, since Mihika's from your side, it's supposed to be in Tamil. What do you call mom's sister?"
"Chithi."
"Chiti?! Doesn't that mean letter?" he said adding a thick Punjabi accent.
"Jiju pronunciation. It's "thi" at the end." Mihika got up and tried to help him with learn the word.
"Chi..thi..chi-thi...chithi! I think I got it now!"
"Don't worry Akka's here to teach you!" she gave him a wink and they both laughed.
Ishita looked at the two surprised. What had happened overnight that Mihika was all of a sudden so friendly and open to talking with Raman? Until last yesterday she was talking rudely to him, thinking he was not good enough for her, and thought horribly about him, and now they were both joking around and she was trying to teach him Tamil. Looking at the two wide eyed wondering what had happened without her knowledge, she came out of her thoughts as she heard his voice...
"But I have never heard Ishita speak Tamil!"
"Because you won't understand a word of what I say, no one will." She finally spoke up interrupting their conversation.
"But I want Ruhi to understand, maybe you should speak Tamil with her sometimes."
"Ruhi?"
"She should know some Tamil. It's the language her mom speaks. Just like she will know Punjabi."
"Raman...she's 4 and half months old." She pointed out to him.
"So? You say stuff to her and she will understand."
"Jiju, Akka, leave all this! You have to leave soon. Are you all ready?"
"We are. Raman go freshen up and change. I'll get Ruhi's things until then."
"That's fine. And Mihika?"
"I'm going to a friend's and Akka gave me her key to come back home. Don't worry about me, just enjoy yourselves!"
She walked out of the room looking back once to find Ishita handing Raman's clothes to him while he handed Ruhi back to her. Small happy family, that's all I wanted her to have, she thought to herself and walked out with a smile. He was trying like he said he would. He would bring her back...

"I couldn't say it at home with Mihika around, but... you also look nice today. You should wear casual clothes more often, it makes you look younger." He complimented her outfit taking a glance at her at the stop signal. She looked down at the loose grey top she wore with jeans. Giving him a huge smile, she looked the other way clutching onto her handbag or adjusting her side braid as her cheeks turner darker than the blush she had applied.
One genuine sentence of his, a wide smile of her. If he had known she liked hearing compliments from him and it didn't make her feel awkward around him, there were many time he would have said a quick "you look nice" to her whenever she kept her hair up in a bun or whenever she wore a saree. Looking through the side mirror, she saw her cheeks turning back to the color before and she turned around...
"You think so?! Then I need to go shopping and get more of these clothes."
"Then go with Mihika or Vandita. Leave Ruhi with me one day and have fun."
"I don't know Raman. Mihika is busy anyways and Vandita doesn't know about the baby. My clothes are starting to get tighter already, so what if she finds out?"
"Then we'll go together someday."
"But you'll be bored."
"I'm never bored with Ruhi and you around. She's fun to be with and you're just as small of a child when you shop!"
"Thanks!" she said sarcastically. After sharing a laugh, he continued to drive and she kept on looking at her clothes every few minutes or so...

Arriving the busiest hour of the theatre, he managed to find a parking spot a long walk away from the actual theatre. Sighing as he looked at the distance from their spot to the building he got out and opened the back door to get Ruhi out of her seat.
Picking up Ruhi in his arms, he noticed the crowd at the place. And as she was busy putting her phone away, he grabbed hand surprising her. Her eyes went from his hand that held her tightly to looking up at him. He saw him looking at the crowd and understood the reason behind his sudden action. Offering to hold Ruhi as they walked across the parking lot, she was refused as he didn't want her tiring herself.
As he walked with his daughter in one arm and his wife's hand in his, he felt her moving around her hand. Looking at their connected hands, he saw she had carefully intertwined their fingers together securing them together. Giving her a smile as she looked at him, he continued to walk casually with her.
20 minutes later, the three of them were seated in the theatre. Ruhi sat in his lap with a pacifier in her mouth while Ishita's lap was filled with popcorn and treats. Waiting and bored of watching people enter the theatre, he looked over at her curiously as she also waited for the movie to start...
"Ishita..."
"Before you say anything, it's my cheat day."
"I was going to ask you to share with me." He said sheepishly making her break into a smile.
"Bukkad!"
"That I am! I define that phrase; a way to man's heart is through his stomach!" he said as he took popcorn from her.
"Get your own Raman!"
"We're husband and wife, we should share, no?"
"No, we don't share food. Especially on my cheat days!"
"I think we should. And I can't go get my own right now. I can't take Ruhi with me, and you can't hold her right now either."
They were both silenced as the lights dimmed and the theatre started to go quiet. As the advertisements were coming to an end, he leaned closer to her whispering...
"Looks like we're sharing." He took a handful of popcorn while she just looked at him.
"Whatever..."
She turned her attention to the movie as the opening credits were appearing and looked at the screen with excitement while he looked at her childish side again. Shaking his head at her antics, he focused on the movie after making sure Ruhi was comfortable.
Just 15 minutes into the movie, Ruhi began to whimper, but he managed to rock her gently and had her rest her head on his shoulder as the background music of the movie distracted her. Another half an hour later, watching the dramatic separation of the couple, he yawned and turned over to Ishita. She was so engrossed in the movie that she failed to notice him looking at her. He looked surprised as there were tears in her eyes and she looked so sad looking at the screen. He didn't know how to react to her reactions, so he leaned over...
"It's going to be happily ever after you know?" he whispered.
"Raman! It's not funny!" she scolded him wiping of the small tears.
"Right, I forgot. Hormones..." he whispered quietly to himself reminding him not to mess with an emotional pregnant woman.
"I heard that!" She gave him an angry stare.
"Well...you know...like...I meant my hormones. They're making me so insensitive!"
She looked at him with an angry look for a few second before she burst out laughing as he sighed in relief. Hearing her laughter, they got the attention of a few people nearby. As she stopped laughing, they noticed the stares from people and they looked back at the screen. Her laughter wasn't the best reaction to the sad music and the separation scene being played out. Looking at each other, they both laughed quietly at what these people were thinking right now. He asked her to watch the movie again and did the same.
Mere 10 minutes later, Ruhi started to cry loudly disturbing the silence of the room. He tried to give her pacifier back, but she turned her face away not wanting, showing her a milk and a toy didn't work as she cried continuously and got people angry.
"Ru! Please stop crying! Look, look over there. What's that on the screen?"
"Raman, do something."
"I'm trying, how about you hold her? She calms down around you."
She picked up Ruhi and tried to make her stop crying. Despite being tickled, rocked, lightly hummed to, and being made funny faces at, she didn't stop. Seeing some people getting quite upset with them, they both slowly got out of the theatre much to the relief of the movie goers.
As they got out, Ruhi stopped wailing in a few seconds. Raman and Ishita looked at her shocked.
"What a mischievous baby! She stopped right as we left the movie!" he exclaimed.
"I guess she didn't like the dark. Before the screen had some light, now it had become darker as well."
"Oh. That's why."
"What will we do now?" she asked.
He thought for a moment as Ishita rocked Ruhi and kept her from crying. Now happily smiling and clapping her hands, he knew she would begin crying the moment they went back. But he didn't want to have Ishita miss the movie. He looked around trying to figure out how everything would work out when he saw the security guard sitting by the entrance doors.
"Now we will watch the movie and keep Ruhi away from the dark." He announced proudly snapping his fingers.
"And how will that happen?"
"Wait and watch Raman Kumar Bhalla's ways." He winked at her and walked away.
He caught up with the manager of the place and she looked curiously as he talked to him for a good couple of minutes. The manager changed expressions from shocked to confused and then after a handshake, Raman walked back to her opening his arms for Ruhi. She asked him what he was up to and simply got a wait and watch from him.
In 2 minutes, there were sitting in chairs by the theatre doors where light peeked in to keep Ruhi from getting scared and they could catch the movie peacefully without scolding or stares from anyone except each other.
"What a smart man!" she exclaimed during the interval.
"I'm am Mr. RKB like you say."
"Of course! My husband has to be smart!"
"Now stop talking to this husband and concentrate on the movie before we get kicked out." Giggling she looked back at the movie that was coming back on. Ruhi fell asleep half an hour before the movie ended and they slowly went back to their seats to watch the climax in peace...
~~~~~
"Best movie outing of my life!" she exclaimed walking out of the theatre as he looked at Ruhi sleeping on shoulder and shook his head remembering the craziness that happened.
"Why? Because of my hormones?!" He joked making her laugh.
"Totally and then my pumpkin's antics that got us special seats."
"But what about the actual movie?"
"It was okay too. I missed a bit of it laughing at you and handling Ruhi."
"Oh..."
"But I liked it much better this way!" she said making him halt in his steps...On the show, we all know how Raman tried to give hints to Ishita about his feelings and desires, by keeping a box of condoms in her drawer. An...
