Going Public & Paranthas😳 🤗

When Amma and her came down a few minutes later Appa had a completely different look on his face
Harish kept talking through dinner, Ranjan enquired Amma about 10th & 12th board results

Amma remembered she needed to take the remaining answer sheets from II

She was almost done, around 11 remained...
Ranjan informed Appa about the AGM week, and what decisions they made as a company.
How the AGMs went in privately held company, Appa expressed curiosity wanting to know why he hadnt gone public yet

Ranjan: It opens up everything, it allows for growth but as a owner manager it adds a painful level of bureaucracy to things which I am unprepared to deal with

Appa: But with the way you seem to be expanding into states and other manufacturers... pretty soon it might get unmanageable dont you think

Ranjan: I am told that all the time Iyer sahab, but u know I enjoy my freedom, the ability to drive decision making, venture into a new area if I want to or dont if I care not

Appa: Ur children and ermm.. (wife?) are shareholders?

Ranjan nodded sadly "Nobody is interested in selling cars, one studies micro biology its as far out from selling cars as can be, ek ne shaadi kar lee, ur son in law likes to be an angel investor"

Appa was quiet for a few minutes

Turning to R&B.. "So u dont like to sell cars?"

"I began doing other things early on Mr Iyer" he said politely

"Mr Bhalla I can see what u are up against" Appa said bluntly

"Are Mr Iyer WE ARE HERE, u know me and my 4 boys... he is not alone... a Bhalla is never alone" gushy

Appa nodded in a restrained manner

"I am tempting your daughter to join forces with me" Ranjan smiled

"ISHITA?" Appa asked startled

"Yes yes, if Vandita wants to be a Director too I will be over joyed" Ranjan said

"No no.. they have careers one is an educator, she wants to be CEO some day" Appa's voice dripped with pride

"Its a home grown corporation she can be one TOMORROW" ranjan waved a finger

"How can she Mr Bhalla, ITS YOURS... its not what she earned" Appa insisted

"She is not incapable of earning it though" Ranjan spoke with full confidence

"Is he planning to return to Paris?"

II dropped her spoon... looked at Amma with a worried expression

"Umm.. he is here now Mr Iyer" Ranjan shot a nasty look at his brother

"His heart is not in it" Appa spoke bluntly

Ranjan gently steered the topic away from his son's career choice to end the dinner in a amicable note

II sent some cookies with Amma for Shravu and her...

Amma: U can visit whenever u feel like, in fact u must all come soon

Harish: Idli ke liye to hamesha tayyar hain Mrs Iyer

Amma smiled warmly doing a namaste "I will let Ishita know one of these days on a weekend?"

Ranjan:U are a busy lady with school, book publishing and proctoring u must rest

Appa: She is... but we have not hosted your family... so ummm.. it will be only vegetarian

Ranjan: We eat it all the time now

Amma: Do u force her to practice

R&B:I try... Mr Iyer

Chuckling

Amma:She will give you all sorts of excuses from... "my toe nail broke" to "I just got my hair trimmed" completely unrelated excuses

Appa:Paavam Madhu dont make fun of our daughter in front of... umm... (that man?) her husband (mumbling)

Amma: Its the truth

II:Amma hes on my tail (complaining)

Harish: India mein there are so many good singers Mrs Iyer, foriegners appreciate Indian art and culture a lot

Amma: I hear you... wherever she goes its a great asset to have

Harish: Did she sing in Paris puttar?

R&B nodded

Harish: I bet they were spellbound

R&B just nodded carelessly... II was beginning to get the drift...

He leaned on the balcony one foot up rotating his phone on the rail...

"So ogey nahi kya aaj?" she asked clutching the curtain

He offered a hand...

"Busy ho?" (Thinking?)

His outstretched hand indicating "not too much"

"Wont u come to bed?" she asked softly😳

"Come here" he ordered softly😳

"Promise u will come to bed" she argued
He dropped his arm

She went after...

She wrapped an arm around his waist securely... crushing his waist

"Hes never lost anyone" (Chachu's advise about sucking it up and moving on in life)😭

"NO ONE HAS" (under the circumstance you have)she said deeply emotional😭

"Dadi lived well into her 80s" 😭he informed bitterly, angry, jealous?
(Chachu has no f**king idea what it is to lose Mom at 26 under suspicious circumstances, implicating Dad in the process)

She turned him , and hugged him, laying on his chest,... arms fully wrapped around him... in slender yet steely grip

"Does he (Chachu) give u life lessons all the time?" she asked

"Only when him and I are alone" he chuckled derisively

"When he has an audience, hes too busy praising you?" she asked, astute at observing that now... at the swing weeks ago, and then earlier today

He nodded...

"Praising you ...so u would do what he hopes u will?" she muttered
he let out a long relaxed breath... as if they connected at some remote level for the first time

"Gayatri Aunty adored her" she said snuggling, changing the topic

He was quiet... she didnt want to look up at his face terrified she might see tears... she didnt know what she would do if she did

"I was their ball boy" he smiled... his voice was hoarse😭
She hugged him tighter...

"U are not even quick on your feet, how did she hire you?"😉😆 II teased

He shook laughing holding her tighter.. as he laughed softly

"I got paid" he said (for the ball boy job)

"Kya milta tha tumhe?"😃

"Breakfast on Sundays Paranthas seated on the counter, hand made and hand fed"😭😳

"CHOOO CHWEEET" she gushed😳
She went on her toes, eyes closed... she reached up to kiss his cheek...
his stubbly cheekbone was damp under her lips.. she opened her eyes to find his bloodshot😭😭

"Kitna khaate the?" she asked quivering, holding back her emotions

"She fed me... so I dont know" he lied😭

"Pig" she muttered huskily... kissing him fully... her arms snaking around his neck as she brought his head down

beautiful conversation between II and R&B...they are opening up...finding emotional anchors...if not anchors yet...its still some good string attached through words and actions...its always II who speaks/shares and R&B responds through strong receprocative actions... Today we saw vise versa...and it felt so good...as good as a spoon full of payasam...warm sweet and flowing like a semi thick liquid

Nisha just amazing... U made me to drift into a calm mood in just one update

O now II understanding chachus intention .and she shared her opinion on chachu with R&B.Ii and R&B RELATION IMPROVING DAY BY DAY.Appa have lots of expections from II..ranjan is right in his point of view.R&B Badly missed his mom savvy ji.;-(;-(;-(;-(

The beginning of the healing. BUT HOW DO YOU HEAL? So so glad that he's finally able to at least talk about his feelings, And to have someone like II beside him, who understands empathy, is compassionate and so tuned in to Rb's feeling...Brilliant.

Bloodshot eyes, tears...Don't know what to say except that this update is only to FEEL not to write about.

You and Namratha and Janani... it was probably the hardest thing he ever did in life... if u dont count surviving after his Ma's passing, that is...

To open up in front of someone thats not family... fully... yet
She is so ready to be his support system... he has no idea.. She would kill Chachu in a heart beat😳

Thanks Nisha, finally I got the update and it was worth the wait, now I can go and sleep peacefully, have to wake up really early tommorrow.

Wife comforting her hubby, trying to tease him out of his sadness, even though she feels his pain and the way she couldn't bear to see his tears. So poignant, feeling so bad for the dude...hoping a miracle takes place and he gets back his mom.

II slowly getting to know Chachu and his evil machinations.

Ranjan wanting his DIL's support which I am sure he will get and also annoyed with brother. Good Good.

Loved how Amma took her SIL's support to make sure II went to her paatu classes.
