Pigs are scavengers by nature and will eat nearly anything that they come across from plants and fruit to dead insects and tree bark.
I guess the salt content in water makes animals more aggressive ...they turn pigs into full-fledged carnivores and tigers into man-eaters. If I remember, it was in a documentary on the sundarbans, that this theory was aired!

Man eaters have many theories yaar.
But main falls on desperation.
Scentists have not yet found a reason why sundarban tigers are man eaters.

but they said it is not completely true.
as from tiger conversation peopl digged fresh water ponds there but still the behaviour din't change,
it migth have all reasons mixed.
most near accurate was.the flood water bringing dead bodies of humans along with water and once tiger tasted the easy prey they tend for it.
then comes another due to continuous floods their marking go away and they will not be able to recogonize their terrains and move closer to humans and other clashes with other tigers.

even the damp land makes it difficult to hunt other animals.
And sundarban tigers are good swimmers. That is making fisherman moving in water and boat their easy target.

but the main reason rest with land.

i don't either.

but I love to know about weapons, wars, destruction .
So just checked randomly about Tigers.
usually tigers are better but they are type which tend to hunt humans more.
Lions have very less cases of man eaters.
especially sundarban tigers are well known man eaters.
