I'll repeat/expand on what I said in Gan's funny thread...
This track has a crap ton of issues...we all know that. My favorite character is in a weird limbo and a child is sadly suffering, but there is still good in the show.
- Ishita has truly bent over backwards for the Bhallas. Many people thought during the Sautan Saga track that the Bhallas were taking advantage of her kindness, but now we are seeing Ishita's new family rally together to support one of the pillars of their household. It's beautiful. There's illogical scenarios, but the emotions, as always, are so raw and real. YHM's strength is truly in it's ability to elicit such relatable emotions. Even if they deviate from logic/sanity or OTT on the emotions...at the core, they are real.
- This episode reminded me of old YHM. Why? It was NOT OTT and dramatic like we've seen a lot in the last 3 months. It had kameena Ashok. It progressed the plot. It focused on subtly.
- I get how people are saying it's boring, but for me...it was a good episode. The only reason I think we are having such issues with it is because we've been on such a drama high for the last few months and there has been no closure. Had this episode been shown during the time period before the CVs failed to end tracks...we would've gotten more out of this.
- The articles about Ashok attempting to rape Mihika are cringe-worthy...but the CVs can really channel their old YHM vibe (think Param molestation track). Plus Balaji has done a similar track in other shows and from what I know, most of the tracks ended on a more positive note.
I honestly want to believe the CVs are trying to restore balance on this show. They are keeping the drama element for TRPs, but in terms of storytelling...it looks like they are slowly undoing the damage of the last 6 months. The only thing I hope for is that we go back to the YHM where good always prevailed. Before the slot change, it may have looked like the villains were winning, but in the end the protagonists came out stronger & on top. If they can bring back this positive spin on tracks, then many of our complaints would vanish. Why? Because constant negativity on screen leads to negativity in the viewers mind. Also I can't leave without this...Shagun today is forcing poor Ruhi to don make-up and model under the guise of "papa ke liye." I want Raman to learn about this, because then maybe he will tap into that RKB side.Thank goodness Ruhi is Ishita & Raman's daughter through and through. If she listened to Shagun at all...she would sound like this:(the above little girl is Honey Boo Boo, the beauty pageant daughter of Mamma June whom you met yesterday). Clearly the value systems of Mamma June & Shagun are similar about money. But like I said before...we are so lucky to see Ruhi being true to her upbringing and not become so shallow.đ
