I dont want a bunch of people on my tail saying "India is so modern Indian parents dont say such things...My mother is so modern, she wants only my husband to cook😆"... yes being the lil one has great advantages, in Tamil its called kadai kutti (the last one)

Whatever be the language race or culture they expect their daughters to be "wives"

I read a Indra Nooyi PepsiCo. CEO interview in Time magazine she said her mother was visiting, I think she is an Iyer (?) and she returned from a late night board meeting once at midnight her Mom was awake, and said "Oh! Good you are home, can you quickly go get milk, we are all out"

Indra was dumbfounded, she said "Why did you ask your son in law to get it?"
Her Amma goes "Oh he came home from work tired, and interacted with the kids and went to bed, how can I WAKE HIM?"😲 "Now be a good wife and go get some milk"

Indra said "Its hard to get out of that mindset...

No she didnt kick her Mom out or divorce her hubby😆 much to the chagrin of feminists

yep.. i had read that article too... 😆
And yes most indian mothers of our times do expect their girls to be a good wife. Its just the way it is . Education, finance , etc has nothing to do with it. My mom does.

on a lighter note- its completely our prerogative how we implement the good wife concept within our homes, when ma's not around😆

loved the Vandu/Amma convo pavam amma caught inbetween her own thoughts 😆 cute something all parents do they want their daughters to have the freedom but also want their SIL to have the cake and eat it too.. and loved how akka was thrilled with appa talking , and the tears and how protective they are both of II..

i have argued and argued with my mom saying how come my husband doesnt have to do this and she will say pavam di avan he just got back ...so my only solution is i plan to teach my son to cook and my SIL will cook for my daughter 😆

I am married to a bum, so I cannot deploy any rules, I do it all, it probably makes me subservient and backward and pathetic but doesnt bother me one bit😃

The day after I landed here he added me to my bank account and got me my debit card, hasnt questioned ONE dime I have ever spent, hasnt asked WHO i went out with where I went, forced me to go to Grad School, 😡and lets me do whatever I please, I havent told him how much I make or where I invest he has never asked he will always say "U dont go to work so I can retire 10 years sooner, you go to work because you are a restless creature,😆 I dont want your money do what u want with it, tomorrow if you dont want to work, stay home and watch Desi TV, I didnt marry a pay check. I married a mootai poochi (bed bug)😆

My pay check goes to a different account I spend/write checks/shop from his account, he hasnt ONCE looked at the bank statement. I have 50 credit cards he has one... I do what I want with his money and mine... he trusts me fully..

AND NO he doesnt do a THING around the house😃

My oldest LOVES cooking, my husband will irritate me by saying to him "Cooking is for sissies, REAL MEN dont go to the kitchen so stay out of it da"😆 Ethana kozhuppu paathukko, kitni himmat

My younger one is a bum like his Dad, he has promised to grow up and get married to me so I guess I will keep cooking for him, he even says daily "You are the best COOKER in the world Mommy"🤣

YOU probably do a handful of things WAY better than skinny size zero people😃
THAT will always be your strength,👏 Dont let anybody bog you down about your weight, one of the NICEST persons I have ever met in life works as a PR Mgr at my office and she wears size 18 or 20, she is 5'5", weighs 200 lbs I think... I am yet to meet a nicer human being... the last thing I think about when I look at her is how heavy or not she is... she will forever be talked about in the office as the most wonderful coworker...she is EVERYWHERE doing EVERYTHING for people, from fund raisers to setting up Holiday giving trees to working at homeless shelters to serving Sunday meals at the Rescue Mission, to doing clothes drives for abused women's shelters, to sending money to Haiti to organizing funds for the office janitor lady to be able to go home to Peru after 10 years...
She is ALWAYS on top...👏👏

If you can have 25 people say that about you in your life time Taara, I think its a greater compliment than 100 men salivating at you when u are a size zero...

Not ONE size zero person at my office can claim Kelly's honor, sure every man knows them

I bet you are amazing however you are...

For Kelly 👏 may god make plenty with that heart...

And my weight issues are nt abt ppl it's abt myself and im not super super fat but im fat enuf fr someone who is 5 feet in height...
And my major concern with weight is the kind of clothes one can wear...I can hide a little bit of the weight in indian but western me to bahut moti choti lagti hun...
So whenever i go shopping n im not able to buy bcz of fit i feel pathetic...
Il turn 23 this march iv studied in a convent (one full of MOD girls),du is suppose to be party crazy, worked in a corporate fr a yr and one thing which is common is they all loooveee to party and i have not been to many just bcz i feel everyone will be in dresses and i can't wear one bcz i look fat..(No Im nt low on self esteem, i do go n get sloshed wen i feel like but i genuinely feel bad that everyone is dressed more pretty )
So ya agn as random a reason as this that iv not been able to wear a dress in 23 yrs of my life, weight is my biggest enemy...
Also i cant do janpath shopping, i just keep on bargaining fr frnds(im bloody good)
And i really cant resist food...

Unfortunately Taara TODAY'S India is transforming in all the wrong ways in order to become "MOD".🤢
I dont think it was such a big deal when we were teenagers... I think there is too much peer pressure now to look ugly thin🤢... and wear fake designer wear if u cant afford Prada 😡(Sorry I dont want a bunch of people on my tail saying "I love Prada I ONLY wear Prada.) 90% of India cannot afford Prada, just MY luck some Prada shopper will get on my tail😆

U should probably just ignore the people that irritate you, wear what ever you feel comfortable in and shop wherever you think you can, you can look SMOKING HOT in a salwar suit (NO not wearing it like Malaika😆) also... when the right guy comes along, size zero or not he will ONLY have eyes for you😳

Any man that will boost your self confidence and LETS YOU BE is the right guy, if a guy tries to change you against your will "RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN"😆
