I have been meaning to make a post for quite a while in this forum and after all the dilly dallying here I am.
Before I begin FYI : I have no issue with any of the actors nor the characters nor am I biased for any . I channel surf with very low expectations and only if I see things going from bad to worse do I finally sit down to crib and see if there are members who have similar thoughts like me .
This post is dedicated to Ishu's dress and make up team. Ishita is a south Indian agreed . But frankly the way she is projected with garish red & pink/purple make up or her bright colorful sarees :O .She is what a bad caricature of what a Madras Mami looks like. You know the one with sporting 9 stone diamond nose rings, bright sarees with gold borders and jasmine flowers. I should be happy Ishita's stylist does not know how to tie a nine yards saree I suppose ..small mercies.
Frankly modern mami's in Mylapore have better dressing style IMO. The world has changed so much , why are TV shows still stereotyping south Indians having zilch make up sense :/ . Vandana & Mihika make up is better and more easy on eyes compared to Ishu the lead .
Of all the characters , leads are supposed to get thoda extra attention with regards to looks , personality and styling . I get so upset when the lead character ends up looking like a frumpy woman with unflattering sarees that make her hips look wide or make up in eye sore giving reds, purples and bright pinks.
Her jewelry in this cap -_- My grandma used to wear such kasu malai . There are modern variations to this design.
I dunno who all have a say in Ishu's looks team , I just hope they take another hard look and pay some attention. Not all of us have such colorful taste and prefer simplicity. Even the most strict Iyer household have adapted modern designs and Grand Mamies have become hip.
