Teacher in India kill the romance, I remember mine doing it I was a part of book club here and we read and discussed, I felt as if I read it for the first time and the way prose, charcters etc was discussed, it was totally different gamut of romance in a literature book.

We were mosly supposed to read on our own and give the test...Teachers it would depend...I had this one very very amazing lady who I love and adore and she use to go out of her way to discuss books and she made me fall in love with Wuthering heights...one of the very few romantics il always cherish and all courtesy her...so ya sometimes evn the teachers can make u fall in love with them...

I have never been more inspired and jealous at the same time by anyone...I could discuss him to eternity but this not Fountainhead thread sadly...
RB does have a few traits but no one can ever be Howard Roark...
RB reminds me more of John Gault...more fictional... Roark is mortal...rare breed but iv full confidence on the possibility of existance... there is one that exists...or could have exist...but only one...

Darcy to muje Bollywood ka hero lagta hai...and i love bollywood...

aaw john gault and howard roark oooh LOVE THEM they exist actually in our beliefs i think in all of us who have read aynd rand you kind of get into that philosophy and Darcy is the most romantic hero there ever can be Pride and Prejudice is the bible/ramayan , quran of romantic literature as you can see i am VERY VERY attached to that book 😆

Ayn Rand books are so intense, they make you think and question your own contribution to the society, I am not reading books of that nature in my current life phase as I feel I wont be able to justify the book. (I know i am weird when books come in picture). I am reading all the chick flicks of the world. 😆

its very subtle and i read it when doordarshan was the only form of entertainment and its slow but every romantic hero there ever can be, is based on him IMO..

Ashu,
If you do want to read it...
Flipkart eBook Reader has a free copy of Pride and Prejudice (Author:Jane Austen).
It's one of the classics. Beautiful book. One of my all time favourites.
If you wanna watch, I'd suggest the Keira Knightley version.
But I'd suggest watching after reading.

And, for others here who've already read P&P.
Take a look at The Lizzie Bennet Diaries.
It's a transmedia, modernised adaptation of the book.

Yes I watch homeland with my husband, have you seen house of cards (I liked that one too) Its political but I like Kevin Spacey. I wonder if India can make shows like them?
Loved Dragon books. Oh god I was addiciated to those, on my way to work either people had paperpacks or ereader. We had a competition on reading them 😆
