Its been years since I moved out of India, I only go to Delhi every year, I dont have family I am close to in Chennai so never go there, oh Gosh! the last time I went to Chennai was in 2006

I am also not caught up in the DEE-JY-NER craze that seems to have gripped all of India... every damn thing has to be some dee-jy-ner crap

We grew up wearing material bought off store shelves and sewn simply... even the same for wedding sarees, Nalli..

If you have access to Chennai, I BET YOU you can find adult kanjeevaram lehanga material cut to size with blouse and dawani enclosed in the package

Go to Nalli in South Ex sometime and check it out may be they already do...

Parandi? I have no idea where you would get in Delhi, the Iyer style I mean... and the jhumkas which we call kodai (umbrella) ones are signature Tamil Nadu... kinds... there are 100s of imitation jewelry stores in Pondy Bazar in Chennai you could get your entire haul there all 1 gram gold so it wont even fade

Again I will channel Anu she probably knows way more, she has a 8 year old...

Wow! Thanks a ton for the help though I have no one in chennai. I'll check out nalli. I've been looking at lehengas for a week. Just don't like the bling they sell in the name of designer wear. I SO want to wear a silk lehenga, not sure how will that look in a punjabi wedding

I don't have any idea about Delhi but in Chennai there are many places where you can get half saree's and the famous temple jewellery. And heard Kumaran silks , Rmkv and a few more are going online. So you can try that. And there are many online south Indian jewellary portals. Try them. And if you are visiting Chennai then you will surely get everything you want in the pondy bazaar - Panagal park area..!

And nisha di.. I was born in Chennai and brought up in Mumbai. Now settled in Chennai. But your tale has made me to think of marrying someone in Delhi and get settled there. Really. Want to actually spend some years there if not for a lifetime.😳

I have seen this NALLI Showroom in South Ex.. They have all traditional South Indian wear.. Have seen their silk sarees.. No idea about rest.. But silk sarees are really good

Around 9 ish Amma had dinner ready II was still asleep, sound asleep, staying up all night for weeks and months took its toll

Akka received a text from Sam "OMG! Did you hear?"

"I know I am here.." Vandu texted

"I KNEW THIS GUY WAS UPTO SOMETHING when he showed up at lunch to my house AT 11, phir soya 4 ghante, phir chala gaya"

"He gave her a Cartier ring" Akka texted back with every smiley she had in her Whats App arsenal..

IMMEDIATELY SAME CALLED

"Kya baat kar rahi ho?"

"Haan, ruko, "

Akka took a picture of it from her sleeping sister's hand and sent it to Sam... "Dekh lo" she said

Sam squealed... loud and looong

"Mujhe USNE KUCH NAHI KAHA... Kal raat ko he made me so mad, main jaakar so gayi poor Tanmay" she giggled

"You didnt" Vandu said meaningfully

"I did... is nemera itna dimaag kharaab kar diya tha" Sam said

Amma came to the room

"Bala kanna please, just make sure you put the idli batter in the frig, thats it, nothing else da, see you"

Amma worried what Bala & Co, were eating

Akka begged for two mins and went back to her call

"Your Mom came?" Sam asked

Vandu laughed...

Then they both became serious

"Do u think this will work Sam?" Vandu asked

Sam was quiet... "Why do u ask? Humne to socha tha kabhi shaadi nahi karega R&B he will be like those people we read in books, until 80 or 90, just alone"

Sam cried audibly

"Sam please mat ro" Vandu begged also crying a bit

"After Ma has been gone he has been in his worst behavior maloom, he was living with a girl 5 years older, woh bhi French" Sam spoke agonized

Vandu squirmed

"3, nahi almost 4 saal uske saath tha, he brought her to India multiple times, she is sweet but she doesnt speak a word of English or Hindi, us se badi hai... pata nahi" Sam worried

"Shhh Its OK" Vandu said

"Do u think differently now about R&B? Hes a great guy Vandita" Sam championed

"I know he is"

"He is a topper in college, he owns his own company, he is not interested in Dad's wealth, he loves to read, but u know he has been s---- active for over 12-14 years" Sam admitted shamefully

Vandita cringed a bit "Its OK"

"I bet he told her about it" Sam claimed

"I think she knows, she is dull rey, she had a fiance' and then broke off, Iyers u know, sexually active sab hum books mein padhte hain" Vandu giggled

"She is adorable, and fiesty" Sam said admiringly

"Despite knowing about his girlfriend and all she must have found something to love... like?" she said quickly

"I had no idea uske ghar jaakar usne yeh baat ki hai, he is the devil" Sam said half proud

"Your Dad came here last week or two weeks ago tumhe maloom hai na?"

"NAHI TO" sam said horrified

Did Sam worry also? Like R&B?

"Kis liye aaye the?"

"To ask for Ishita's hand in marriage"

"For R&B?" Sam asked

"HAAN?!!!!" Vandu said shocked

"I didnt know I am sorry I am sorry" Sam said

"Arey its OK Appa ne mana kar diya or dont know what Appa said" Vandu admitted

"I hope yeh ho jaaye Vandita" Sam said

"I will put every ounce of my pregnant energy into it Sam" Vandu said tearing up

10:28 PM

Her phone rang

"Hello" 🥱she said sleep drugged when he called the second time, 4th ring

"U arent awake dreaming about me?" he asked☺️ offended

She sat up...

I thought of first sending a PM to N. Then I decided against it as , one I hv never sent a PM ( silly me , don't know how) and two, I would need majority concurrence on what I am going to suggest.

And yes, this time around I am ready to be Crucified!!!! But also know that my fellow readers will understand me

I don't know what writers do or how they feel, is it like a feeling of completeness as they complete a book?? Do they need a break or if their creative juices keep flowing all the time. ?? For me this is a many series symphony and this second leg would be the first of sequels

But if I were N and this was my first major writing exp, one which has witnessed and carried success, then I would be spent and would a little time to pause and then regroup.As I write this , I know for sure , I am not N and she might not need to pause at all. She has been relentlessly marvellous.

Fellow readers, may I take the liberty to suggest a break here , I mean symphony pages will be on and people could still come and share comments , hv a writer,reader discussion session ,but give a break to N from writing , mind you only for a couple of days , before this train continues.And all this only ,N , needs to time to absorb all of this. One needs to take out time to enjoy and reflect too!!

I know , a few will be irritated at me for suggesting this and I do know the implications of making this post as ppl need to check in to rehab for a bit to get deaddicted from this daily fix of caffeine, spirits , and to a few, where SY SS is escapism from their day to day lives, it is bl****dy difficult and fully understand, I do but still thought I should go ahead and spit out what's been bugging me since last night.

And N, if you do not want , we readers are 24/7 ready to lap it all up!! But if you need a break we r ready Nalli and RMkV and sundar I silk discussions, take a readers opinion on II for the wedding , you know!!
