It was a lazy Sunday afternoon. Everybody was busy enjoying the day of togetherness in their own way. Raman and Ruhi were having their own conversations. Toshi Ji was pampering Pari by playing every girl's favorite game "Ghar Ghar". Ishita and Ansh were busy planning a surprise for Raman's upcoming birthday. Ruhi too would have been a part if she was not given the task of keeping Raman busy.

Ruhi: Papa aapke office mein sab thik chal raha hai

Raman: Ruhi beta aaj tumhe kya ho gaya hai...yeh pichle ek ghante mein teesri baar tumne pucha hai

Ruhi: Oops sorry woh main bore ho rahi hoon...aap kuch interesting baat bhi nahi kar rahe ho

Raman: Ab tumhe kya interesting lagega mujhe kya pata...ab tum woh pehle wali Ruhi toh ho nahi jise Barbie ya doll house ki baatein interesting lage

Ruhi: Offo Papa...grow up

*Flashback*

The life was moving on perfectly. It had been around a year that they were engaged. Her second semester was over already. Both were doing very fine at their jobs as well.

Both of them were in absolute peaceful state of mind until that call came to him.

His heart sank hearing the cry of the kid. Those kids were such an important part of his life rather their life.

He who was a calm driver otherwise rushed to the NGO in no time.

And when he entered,

SURPRISEEE all shouted. He was shocked to hear her voice mixed with the kids' voice.

Raman: Yeh sab kya ho raha hai yahan

Bhaiya aapke liye surprise hai, all shouted together and moved aside. His eyes glowed up seeing her standing there.

He didn't believe his eyes until he heard her say.

Ishita: Toh kaisa laga surprise

He didn't have the words to express his happiness. He just moved ahead and hugged her. Both got so engulfed in the hug that they forgot their surroundings.

They would not have even come out of the hug if she didn't realize the presence of the kids when they all clapped in happiness.

Ishita: Raman

Raman: Hmm

Ishita: Chodo na...bache hain aas paas

Oops sorry, he said and freed her from the hug.

Raman: Tum kab aayi yahan pe kaise aayi aur yeh sab kab kya plan kiya

Ishita: Baba re itne saare questions ek saath aur aap mujhe question box bulate ho...main subah aayi...udke aayi aur phir yahan aake yeh plan kiya...ab aur koi sawal

Raman: I love you

Before she could reply all the kids shouted in chorus "we too love you bhaiya". He got embarrassed while she just laughed blushingly.

Raman: Waise bachon tum mujhe itne saalon se jaante ho aur apni didi ko sirf 2 saal se tab bhi apni didi ko support kiya aur mujhe itna dara diya

One of the kids: Bhaiya firstly didi nahi Bhabhi aur secondly Bhabhi ne humen chocolate ki rishwat di thi toh humen toh maanna hi tha na.

All laughed at this and soon the rest of the day was spent enjoying with the kids.

Finally in the evening they departed from there after spreading the laughter among those kids.

In the car driving towards their chaas seller,

Raman: Seriously Ishita this was really the best surprise...I was missing you so much you don't know

Ishita: I know Raman tabhi toh aayi hoon

Raman: Waise kitne din ka plan hai...kaise sab arrange kiya tumne yaar aur Amma ko kaise manaya

Ishita: Hehhee kitne din kya kal jaungi wapis...abhi college se leaves toh thi hi toh maine socha aapko surprise kar dun...Amma ko maine nahi manaya Appa ne manaya...I can't take that risk.

Raman: Aur BTW tum akele travel karke aayi ho

Ishita: Nahi Appa ne army bheji hai saath mein

Raman: Good joke

Ishita: Obviously Raman...Appa dropped at the airport...airport ke ander kaise flight board karni hai aata hai mujhe...phir Bombay land hoke I took a taxi and reached the hotel.

Raman: what hotel...i thought you would have gone to Mihika's place

Ishita: No Raman...you know na Aunty won't allow that...and shit maine Mihika ko toh bataya bhi nahi ab tak...use call kar lungi hotel jaake warna jaan le legi woh meri

Raman: Aise kaise jaan le legi woh meri jaan ki...and you are not staying at the hotel

Ishita: Toh phir

Raman: Either you stay with Mihika or at my place but I can't let you stay in hotel like that

Ishita: Mihika PG mein hai Raman samjho aap...wahan aunty allow nahi karengi na... aur waise bhi acha hotel hai Raman and maine aapke ghar paas hi book kiya hai...don't worry koi problem nahi hai

Raman: you are staying at my place then

Ishita: No Raman

Raman: I know flat chota hai but main hall mein reh lunga and tum room use kar lena

Raman: Bas final ho gaya you are staying with me...I mean at the flat

Ishita: Raman

Raman: Don't worry meri niyat nahi phislegi...and if you want we can just not tell anyone...secret between you and me.

She could do nothing but give up agreeing to his constant demand.

Ishita: Aur hotel mein jo paise de diye already

Raman: Arre kanjus madrasan bas kar yaar

Ishita: Mera luggage bhi hotel mein hai

Raman: pick up kar lenge na abhi chaas ke baad

Ishita: Bahut ziddi ho aap

Raman: Tumse kam

Both laughed and proceeded towards their chaas seller. They enjoyed their evening recalling their earlier meeting at the same place from where their journey had begun.

Finally they collected her luggage from the hotel and made their way back to the car.

Ishita: Aapne dekha woh reception par manager kaise ghoor raha tha

Raman: Ghoorega hi na...tum subah aayi aur aate hi din bhar ke liye gayab aur ab raat ko apne pure saaman ke saath ek anjaan mard ke saath chal di...uski kya galti hai bechare ki

Ishita: Chiii kaise bol rahe ho aap aur anjaan mard like really

Bboth laughed at their own joke and soon reached his house.

Raman: Shit ek problem ho gayi

Kya hua, she asked making herself comfortable on the sofa.

Raman: Arre ghar late pahunche na hum...ab bai chali gayi hogi khaana bina banaye...maine socha tha bahar se kuch pack kara lenge but I totally forgot about it

Ishita: Acha hua bai bhi chali gayi aur aap bhi pack karana bhul gaye

Raman: Matlab

Ishita: Main banati hoon na kuch

Raman: Tum thaki hui ho yaar...subah travel kiya phir pure din bhi busy

Ishita: I am fine Raman aur khaana banake aur jyada acha lagega mujhe

She only smiled assuring him.

Raman: Toh thik hai but pehle refreshment ke liye main coffee pilaun tumhe

He went to the kitchen to make coffee while she looked around her future house in aww. She was lost in the beauty of that simple house until she heard him sing.

He started to move but stopped on her interruption.

Raman: Uff tumhari awkwardness ka koi ilaaj nahi hai kya...come on yaar bata do kya batana hai...waise bhi jab tak bataogi nahi tab tak chain tumhe bhi nahi aayega

Ishita: Nahi Raman woh main bas soch rahi thi ki room mein agar folding bed daal lete toh aap ander hi so sakte the...bahaar AC nahi hai na aur aapse garmi bardaash nahi hoti hai aur aap mujhe bahaar sone nahi doge

Raman: Don't worry I will be fine

Nahi Raman aap bhi ander hi so jaiye usi bed par, she said fumbling with the words

Raman: Nahi Ishita...it is ok main thik hoon don't worry

Ishita: Raman please I insist

He didn't have any problem as such but he knew she was uncomfortable but at the same time his refusal was only adding on to the discomfort so he thought to agree.

Raman: Are you sure

Ishita: Haan

Ok and both proceeded to the room.

Raman: Tumhe change agar room mein karna hai toh main bahar wait kar leta hoon

Ishita: Nahi main aise hi thik hoon change nahi karna hai

He found the reply very strange so thought of confirming.

Raman: Tumhe change nahi karna hai

Ishita: Nahi na

Raman: Fine gussa mat karo main sofa ko extend karke bed bana deta hoon

Finally the bed was made from the sofa.

The atmosphere was really stressful. Both of them didn't know they would ever face this kind of strange tension as well.

Raman: Toh phir tum leto main change karke aata hoon...woh us closet mein extra quilt hai tum nikal lo

Ishita: Hmm thik hai jao aap

He went in to relax himself while she sighed in relief after him going.

Aiyo Murugan keh toh diya hai but kitna ajeeb hai yeh sab...bas jaldi se yeh raat khatam ho, she thought to herself.

Kitna tough hoga na Ishita ke liye yeh karna but she cares so much for me islie bechari ko itna ultimate kuch karna pada, he thought to himself.

Finally after getting himself changed, he came out and saw her still standing at the same position where he had left her.

Raman: Kya hua quilt nahi mili kya

Ishita: Nahi maine dekhi hi nahi...aap nikal do na

He knew why she had said that but still.

Raman: Kyun

Ishita: Raman acha nahi lagta na aise kisi ki closet kholna

Raman: Woh kisi ki closet hai

Ishita: Aap na

And she went ahead and pulled a quilt for her.

He switched on the AC and both lied down on the beds at the extreme corners. The position was such that if they turned around they would have surely fallen on the ground.

It was too long that the awkwardness was going on and it was the time to lighten the atmosphere, he thought.

Raman: Waise madrasan mujhe na tere iraade thik nahi lag rahe hain

Ishita: Kya matlab

Raman: Yaar maana main handsome hoon but please mujhse kam se kam 100 meter dur rehna...meri hone wali biwi ko pata chala na ki main aise kisi anjaan ladki ke saath tha kasam se maar hi daalegi

Ishita: Acha...itni khatarnak hai aapki hone wali biwi

Raman: Haan...kisi ko kya pata yaar bas jo jhelta hai na wahi jaanta hai...jab bhi milti hai jhadu se maar maarke welcome karti hai mera

Ishita: Acha...aur

Raman: Aur jab hug karti hai toh peeche se itne punches maarti hai ki bas kamar ki toh band baj jaaye bande ki

Ishita: Acha aur

Raman: Aur khaane mein toh pata nahi kya milati hai...ek baar khao aur do mahine ke liye pet kharab

Ishita: Aur

Raman: Aur ghurti toh aise hai ki billi bhi kya ghuregi...bas aankhon se hi na jaan nikal deti hai

Ishita: Raman Kumar Bhalla you are dead tonight

And in no time he was attacked by so many pillow punches.

Raman: Arre bas karo yaar sorry

Ab kyun bas karun jhadu punches kharab khaana tez aankhen sab lo ab aap, she said while beating him.

Raman: Arre sorry...ab kabhi sapne mein bhi tumhari burai nahi karunga

Soon both were lying on the bed laughing at the moment just passed and suddenly realized that all the awkwardness and discomfort was gone.

And both slept far from each other yet so close.

He only came out of his thoughts hearing a loud "Mil Gaya".

Raman: Arre madrasan kya mil gaya

Ishita: Nahi kuch nahi Raman woh main aur Ansh bahut der se newspaper mein ek puzzle solve kar rahe the toh uska answer mil gaya

Raman: Aaram se yaar chillao mat

Ishita: Sorry

Ansh: Maa thoda excitement control karo aur batao kya idea mil gaya...abhi Papa sun lete na toh ho jaata aapke surprise ka the end

Ishita: Sorry sorry na ab sun...maine socha hai ki is baar Raman ke birthday ke din teri aur Ishvi ki engagement karenge...i am sure Raman bahut khush honge

Ansh: Ok done but sab arrange ho jaega na

Ishita: Haan beta sab ho jaega don't worry ab chal room mein aur meri baat karwa Ishvi ki mumma se

And both proceeded to his room to prepare for the double upcoming celebration.
