Voldemort took the blood because without that he wouldn't be able to touch Harry. What he didn't know is that it was just love that gave Harry the protection. So when Harry volunteered to go the forbidden forest in repayment of Voldemort sparing everyone's life, he revoked the magic again and that's why in the final moments of the battle, no one could be hurt. If Voldemort understood or recognized love as a powerful magic, he'd have seen it coming! He made same mistake twice! Underestimated the power of love.

The wand connection was priori incantatem, nothing to do with the protection of love. You are mixing two theories here. And harry wasn't protected from many curses, the protection was that Voldemort can't harm Harry. Dumbledore revoked the same magic for the Harry's aunt's house too. As long as Harry could call that home and his mother's blood lived there, Voldemort couldn't harm him. The fact that Voldemort used Harry's blood shows that how little regard he had to the ancient magic of love. He ultimately changed the meaning of the prophecy by doing that!

When it comes to Harry Potter, I'm an all knowing expert!😆 My life jumps between The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. I have read those series again and again, dissected them, analyzed them. I kinda eat, drink and breathe TLOTR and HP.

You haven't watched TLOTR movies? How come? Not only are they one of the most earning movies of all time but they've won the most number of Oscars! You should totally watch them. In my family, we have this kinda ritual thingy, where me and my sibling watch TLOTR movies in one sitting, every winter!
