Raman was bang on today. Though he was guilt-tripped but he poured out the reasons of his current state, Mani and Ishita. Before Mani came into the picture, Ishita acknowledged Raman as the "most caring person", her ultimate destiny and savior ( ref. Ishita's balcony conversation). But as soon as Mani was introduced the same Raman had become rude, insensitive, careless and what not to Ishita. Yes, Mani also judged Raman, told him a failed husband on his face but Ishita's reckless repetitive remarks were the main reason for Raman's guilt-trip. Then Mani's obnoxious judgements just added the much needed fuel to the fire. When Raman said "you should go with Mani for coffee", it signaled how he bottled up his deep pain so far; the pain of suddenly being sidelined by your loved ones without any fault. Ishita made him feel that he is not worthy of her but Mani is. She happily went out for dinners, lunches, coffees with Mani but never heard her asking Raman for once except for the apologizing purpose before Mihir-Trisha's sangeet. She acted like without Mani, she couldn't function her household chores. She openly declared to everyone that only Mani could understand her, he's the only compatible match for her. Raman digested this without a word but the impact in his mind was severe. Out of the blue Ishita kept on chanting Mani as her hero, rescuer, savior though Mani only made her life complicated and painful. True to his character, Mani vanished himself masterfully after Ashok-Shagun wedding was called off. Because Mani comes for good times only. Then he screws things and vanishes himself as bad times barge in.Ishita-Mani friendship is/was an unhealthy one to say the least. It killed the essence of friendship between a man and a woman in general. That's why we heard RKB saying " Mani ke saath lunches, coffees, dinner pe jate hai par mujhe to aaj tak thik se hi-hello bhi nahi boli. Usee I love you Mani bolti hai...mujhe aaj tak thik se I like you tak nahi boli". Even today's dialogues like " Mani ke saath Coffe peene jao" or " sirf tum dono ek dusro ko jhel sakte ho" were the repercussions of Ishita's continuous ignorance towards him and Mani's repetitive naggingness.
Supporters of Mani track are thinking that the come back of Mani is for closure. Well, they thought Mani as a cupid for IshRa too.đIf it's for the much needed closure then Mani and Ishita must realize the severe damage they had done and should repent for that. I doubt that they'll do because demigod Mani and Jagatmata Ishita can never be wrong no matter what. So, it would have been better if Raman would have left for Singapore handing over the divorce paper to Ishita and giving Mani the opportunity to marry her. Then they won't have any further problems for going out for coffees or whatever. That would have been the perfect closure for the Mani track as it was depicted earlier.
Even if Raman wouldn't have sprang up divorce paper to Ishita, once Raman left there was every chance that Ishita would have busied herself going out with Mani as she did it in the past. IshMani friendship taught us a good lesson though--- Don't push your friendship to an absurd extent that your partner starts to think that you are better off with your friend.
