The Gray and the Mist
Prologue
Location: Darjeeling Mental Asylum
"Doctor... Doctor..." yelled the nurse from the ground floor, while running, she panted as she reached the first cabin at the right, the name on which read in golden, the head of department of the neurotics, Dr. Umesh C. Tripathi.
"Doctor! The new patient as arrived from Delhi, sir she is too disturbed and would not sit quietly, rather she has created ruckus in the waiting chamber." The nurse said, panting.
"Calm down sister, tell me, who is on duty there?" he asked, looking up silently for the first time from the reports in his hand.
"Dr. Neil sir." She answered, now bit calmed.
"And what about patient's family, are they not there too?" he asked
"Sir, there are none..." she said, bit doubtfully, while the doctor looked at her confused, but then she continued as if to explain, "Sir, it was told to us that patient's family has been killed or they have just... abandoned her, as it is, she was found near the broken car on the highway! I don't think anybody would come to claim her now, it has been over a year that she was in Delhi psychiatric hospital without anyone ever paying her a visit." She completed.
The doctor however pushed himself back in chair, his hands playing with the latest parker, and his eyes fixed on some distant spot on hills which he was looking at, like he was lost, completely zoned out.
"Doctor?" the nurse called him, to gain his attention.
"huh... yeah, Mrs. Stella, I am just coming to check the patient myself", said the man with silver locks, his eyes green boring into depth of something negligible, while his persona reflected confidence.
"Yes Doctor!" and with that nurse left.

"Let me go! I said Let. Me. Go. Don't you get it, get away from you filth!" she yelled, her clothes in tatters, while her eyes ablaze, it seemed she was more shaken to be there, than others were having her, her nervousness was quite evident in her not so sure eyes, while her demeanor shook, she had a heeled sandal in one hand, while a pointed pen in other, she looked fiery that no one even dared to go near her vicinity.
It was the scene, when Dr. Umesh, popularly known was Dr. UCT, one of the finest in India, entered. His eyes reflected no surprised at the scene, like he was expecting something like this. As he entered the nurses and doctors stood still, and looked at their senior, while his eyes were fixed on her, she was around 25-30, he noticed, and then at the arms that she had held in her hand to protect herself or rather fight them. He looked quite amused and asked everyone to leave except for the old Mrs. Stella, the head nurse.
He asked in hushed tone to the nurse, as they three were left alone, "What is her name you told?"
"Doctor, we are unaware of her name." she whispered back.
While the doctor looked at her, with sympathy and then turned towards her and said, or rather asked, "Put down the sandal, beauty!"
While the fazed woman looked at him, surprised, her eyes reflected something dark, while her demeanor changed, her hand left the pen that crackled down, and with the same hand she touched her face, caressed her cheeks, and then forehead and then looked at the male doctor and slowly came forth and asked softly, as if making her believe or clearing the small doubt that erupted, "Do you really think I am beauty?"
Sister Stella stood there stunned, she had never seen her like this, from the time she had arrived she was a beast and now, and then her gaze travelled towards the stout doctor, his gray self reflected sympathy and apathy.
And then he smiled and replied, "Of course, or otherwise why I would denote you by that name?"
She nodded and looked at him, with different glint around.
And then, knowing full well that then she was calm he slowly came forward and said, "Keep it down, keep the sandal down, and go with Sister and sleep, you need sleep, see you have developed dark circles that would make you look ugly, go and take rest. Okay?"
And to sister's surprised she did what Dr. UCT had asked her to do.

Mumbai: Hotel Grand
"Congratulations Sir!" said Anand excitedly, and shook his hands with the man of the night, Raman Kumar Bhalla, popularly known as the RKB, CEO of Healthy Diets and Drinks.
The handsome devil himself turned with a small smirk and nodded a Thank-you' in his direction, and turned and exited the party, making his way towards his already booked suit, and it was then when a much younger woman emerged from behind and wrapped her hands around his torso, making him stop, and turned him slowly grazing her hand up and down his arm seductively, while he looked at her surprised, and then down at her hand, and caught it in his firm grip and asked instead, "Do I know you?"
While the Helen just smirked and said, "Know me or not, I want to be your's tonight... handsome. I had been noticing you all night... you are truly more handsome than you looked from afar..." the young woman said grazing her fingers on his stubble, her net saari was revealing more than it was hiding, and her blouse, as if she was not wearing one, her breasts were bulging out, while the indecent back wasn't helping much, she was too close to be not noticed in detail, he looked at her face again, after taking her full form and then untangling himself from he said, "I'd rather remain a celibate than to stoop myself to sleep with a s**t like you..." and with that he shrugged off his jacket as if to brush off the germs her single touch brought and walked away with a smirk, leaving behind the fuming lady in red and black.

"First we need to find her family, its most important. We would need her whole medical history to move forward and take some action, and secondly, cancel the vacation of the golden team, I think we need them here, more than they need holidaying..." he said and turned towards the head nurse, and nodded, "Now, sister."
While Sister Stella with a nod to work upon the new orders, while the doctor muttered, "Only that team can help us with everything, But before that I must forward the information to him, with that he messaged the information, and sighed, on receiving the message, "I am on it Doc, see you in 12 hrs."
