Today I genuinely cried. I was still holding in and swallowing my tears till ruhi broke down but that scene where ishita envelops ruhi in a hug and then when ruhi sees her papa she rushes to him and he takes her in his arms and does that small nudge with his nose in ruhi's stomach? Oh god.

IshraRu scene made me cry. I just couldn't control. Tears came flowing out naturally. Must say, Divan and Ruhaanika are so so natural. Once again YHM has made me PROUD today.

WARNING: Sentimental gushing, over analyzed scenes and overemotional rambling ahead within an unnecessarily long post. Please forgive.

Like yesterday today I had tears running down my face watching the show- but for another reason completely. Yesterday, we all sobbed for the plight of a woman/ mother/wife who was facing the prospects of the dream life that was finally within her grasp being snatched away from her. And today for the plight of a man/father/ husband/ son and for his daughter, their daughter who were both shaken at the prospect of the dream life that was finally within their grasp being snatched away from each of them. Today's episode for me will definitely be one of those that I will always come back to and refer to whenever anyone questions my devotion to this show- it was that good.

Watching yesterday I commented to my mom how important and pointed it was that Raman comforted Ishu by saying 'Ruhi is not just your daughter- she's my daughter too' considering the biological ties. That line speaks volumes to the evolution of the relationship[s] and perspectives on the show. And it went back to the roots of the novel, which i was compelled to read again after the episode ended.

And today, today there were three moments that tied it back to the novel, to the beginning for me.

The moment where Ruhi tied ISHRARU together- were any of us not crying at that point? I got a flashback to their wedding when Ru tied their clothes together to mark the union and now, like then, we are reminded that this is about them as a unit and their bond, their familial ties- born of a kind of desperation and maintained through desire and need. Think back for a moment and compare the thoughts and feelings of RKB, his JKR and their little princess in both those moments; what a beautiful journey it has been.

Another defining moment for me was when ISHRARU hug-when Ishu accidentally (?) brushes Raman's cheek and pulls back with a slight blush. Flash back to the ISHRARU hug after Adhi's case and the awkwardness of the moment when Raman couldn't figure out what to do with his arm when embracing Ru. Again the comparison is amazing- form a hesitant pulling back to a knowing blush, from a lack of certainty to a confident ownership- what a beautiful thing for us to have been witness to.

And finally for me- the prayers ... I loved the prayers. A similar prayer from mother and father sent to Murugan and Mata Rani. It not only speaks of their similar mindset and their desire for their family to remain in in the loving ties strengthened by Ru, but also stands as a subtle reminder of their different roots. The North-South relation that was supposed to be the main draw of the story, now just a passing fact of the greater story of the creation of a family. This again goes back to the novel by reminding us that this is the story of a family chosen, something most of us did not have the luxury of experiencing- and though in the beginning for ISHRA, this was an unwanted union for the sake of their common love for Ruhi, today it is a desperately desired relationship for which they both turn to the higher powers to keep together.

I have always maintained that YHM is Ruhi's story and moments and episodes like this tell me that the CVs remember that as well.😊

Special mention: Raman's kissing of Ru's tummy- how awesome and realistic was that?

Today belongs to ISHRA, KP, DT & RD- let us all celebrate with some dosas and Parathas...I'll bring the dosas. I promises mine are better then Toshi's latest attempt at them...😉
