To me it felt like at that time that CVs wanted Adi to realize that his mom was being played for a fool...hence he became nervous about Ashok for the next few episodes after that. But then perhaps they changed their minds, and made Adi part of team Ashok again.

There is no hope for Shagun, not unless she hits rock bottom, where no one (and I mean no one) cares to pick her up, shelter her, pay for her needs etc. Until she's cast adrift permanently by everyone she knows, she'll never change.

There's still hope for Adi though. Shagun is delusional while Adi is simply believing the lies that his mother and her mom's rich boyfriend told him. Once he realizes that his Ashok papa doesn't care for him anymore, and his real father is always there for him...he'll at least mature a little. I'd love it if an adult character in the show blurts out the truth to him abt how his mom cheated on his dad and then forced his dad to not see him...that would be such a wakeup call. Bonus points if Adi then confronted his mom about it.

Considering this is an Ekta soap, I doubt he will become a fully positive character though, but I'd like to see his relationship with his father and Ruhi improve just a bit

He also saw Ashok's real farcical face when he overheard him with Suraj getting ready to boot Shagun out and never bring her back to his mansion.

With Mani without a woman in his life unless CVs prefer to leave him single, Shagun will swim towards the bigger fish that he is. What Mani gets out of it is chance to reform someone, once Raman and Ishita tell him to leave them alone, Shagun will become the one he focuses on.

I thought it served to show how toxic the environment is for Adi. He's pulled left and right with bad influences. His parents love him (I'm pretty sure even Ashok has a soft spot for Adi. He's been helping "raise" him for 6 years. When Adi got hurt, I'm 100% sure his concern was real) but they aren't able to give him what he needs.

I read a post awhile ago where someone stated that Adi played the parent to Shagun sometimes, instead of it being the other way around. And I feel like that's what he did when he overheard the Ashok-Suraj convo. He knew they were against his mom. But he also knows how madly his mother loves Ashok and wants to be with him. So he probably thought to not tell her for her own happiness and see to it that the marriage takes place. That's why he really wanted/ was sure that Shagun would marry Ashok. He can't see Shagun broken and the only way to prevent that is to have her fulfil her wants, i.e. get married to Ashok even if Ashok doesn't want her.

I feel really bad for Adi though. He's been so unlucky emotionally.

He has trust issues, Ashok has shown his true colors and he believes Raman abused him. So the role models in his life have failed him, in his mind. He desperately needs some professional intervention for the deep seated emotional wounds he needs to work through. Someone has to direct him so he realizes the truth that Shagun may love him in her own twisted way but she is only hurting him with her ways.😕

Thank you for giving a different perspective of why Adi would be behaving this way. But I am going to politely disagree that Ashok actually has a soft corner for him. He has been using Adi as a weapon against Raman and that is the only reason he has been putting up with him in addition to bearing Shagun. He has made that clear in more than one occasion and called him an additional baggage to Suraj when he was plotting to get rid of Shagun and lusting over Mihika. If Shagun is a witch, then Ashok is no less. He has been manipulating Adi all along just so he could one up Raman and prove that his own son hates him and loves him more. Remember the time when he made Adi denounce his last name of Bhalla and take up his name. I agree to your point that Adi is emotionally weak and Ashok manipulates him to his advantage. Shagun is not doing any less by feeding all the lies and venom against Ishita and Raman taking her side all the time over them.

Mera - Well said. If ever Raman needs Adi to be reformed and act normal and behave like Ruhi he definitely has to seek some professional help. The boy is emotionally damaged to an extent where he does not who to believe and who not to. Shagun has poisoned his mind by painting a picture of Raman where he is selfish and evil and dances to his new wife Ishita and hates them. She has basically blamed Ishita of ruining their lives and happiness when it was she who broke her own family. When Adi comes to know the real truth and how Shagun manipulated it for her own selfish needs his world would be shattered to pieces and Raman better be prepared to handle him cause chances are Adi would become even more cold, distant and removed. Before truth comes out in open, Adi should atleast be able to trust Raman and not look at him as the enemy out to get him. He needs to get him on his side by treating his emotional issues first and then when a bigger bomb explodes he would be able to come to him on his own.

@kt25: Oh I forgot about that burnt hand scene...then yes, then Adi's actions cant really be considered part of a blooper

@merarai: That's the scene I was referring to in my post

I would like Shagun to go to Mani myself, but I feel like that would be really obvious. It's an Ekta soap and she loves creating "love" triangles...I feel like Shagun would eventually run to Raman, because that would leave a greater opportunity for drama. I don't think Mani is meant to wait in the wings for Ishita either though...maybe someone else like Simmi

I also think that Mani might be paired with Simmi, now that Param's truth is out in the open. Param has been threatening to divorce Simmi and this time around Simmi might take the offer and call it quits.
