Nisha,

Awesome post bud!

I loved this part:

As for those that have been ranting since the promo came on
"This is so demeaning. This is so cheap. Quit watching. Audience is shameless"
Its NO MORE shameless than Kareena, Deepika and Katrina performing item numbers on the silver screen.
And once the shoot is over get into their 20 crore cars and vanish.
Do we quit watching movies? No!!
Fools like us then take public transport to go watch the movie get subject to rape and molestation by auto wallahs and bus
drivers listening to those exact songs on radio. I suggest to all the ranters to please take out dharnas and morchas
and rebellions outside film studios and producers' offices to change the path of story telling in cinemas..😳👏

Here in Canada some theatres show bollywood movies, at the cost of $12-13 CDN...so many gen Y peeps have started to shun these movies for two reasons:

1) They are, barring a few, mostly shit...utter drivel...and full of misogynistic crap...and the quality is not up to par
2) Aint nobody paying the same amount they pay for a hollywood movie...unless you're an auntie or an uncle

The best way to protest against this kind of crap is through your money...don't spend it where it shouldnt be spent...don't support these fools!

it is mostly because top actors, especially bachchan, khans, etc, have a fan following and devotion that very very very few people in the country have.

therefore, when these actors get involved in something, their fans listen and get influenced too. it's to do with the wide audience these actors can reach moreso than their authority or power in these matters.

I was being sarcastic

Exactly my point this show is watched by women and they have a right to refuse to watch such regressive stuff, y can't they switch channels or skip these episodes so that the TRPs come crashing down and makers realize that they can't show such horrible stuff in the name of Drama. 😕

I know in movies this will not stop - degradation of women unless and until the audiences stop watching movies like that.

Now we are back to the "doing as we please, women's rights ...having choices, being able to dress how we want. freedom of choice" and all that jazz

Agree the heroines seduce the heroes...

But the autowallahs and bus drivers chai wallah at bus stops derive ammunition from such songs to "seduce" (barf😡🤢) people like you and I

I would like the leading ladies to ride the bus with me😈

I agree to what Autowallahs do but yet I have seen women wearing hot pants, sleeveless in Delhi, mumbai etc n using public transport not all of them get raped 😳

Things r changing it will take time.

Indian psyche has become such maybe because of Indian movies as I said before for wrong portrayal of women,

But wearing Dress has never been objectified even in our culture - we see women wearing sleeveless or even strapless cholis in Sulptures or paintings etc

Ya its another issue that Ravan did Sita Haran and Draupadi cheer haran happened but that was not because they wore revealing clothes coz during that time everyone used to wear such stuff!

I agree there was no sign of Ruhi, no talk about home work, bed time story, clinic, root canals... work meetings...routine... the show seems to have morphed into a huge dramatic over emoting stage...

Unfortunately the worst is yet to come, I fear...

Oh! Meghz I am not accusing India of not offering safety or protection for women.

Its inadequate

Bollywood does more damage than good... Satyameva Jayate is not going to help, ya sure millions will watch Aamir "cry". Will it reform creeps and rapists?

I DONT think so...

Thanks Sunny
Movies unfortunately are the ONLY source of entertainment in India. I am not sure where you were raised. But in India especially in cities, unless you are wealthy and can afford, theme parks or arcades... MOVIES ARE IT

For the middle class and lower middle class movies are the only source of entertainment on a day off from grueling work

I dont think suggesting that they shun movies altogether is fair. There are no parks, there are no lakes or rivers, or camp grounds or nature trails or anything...

Its either the Malls or the movies ( I SPEAK STRICTLY for the NON-rich)

Unfortunately for Bollywood and politicians alike, its ALL about filling up their pockets... with another 500 crore crap fest...

India and the welfare of Indians feature last on Bollywood's list...
A good payback would be to boycott it en masse... but there are no alternatives😭

After watching the episode, I just had to shake my head and the only thing that I can think of is "Ekta ne Mihika ko bali chadaa diya" all in the name of TRP. As much as all of this is branded as a modern woman's attempt to bring a douche bag like Ashok's ulterior motives into open, at the end of the day anyone with a sane mind and who cares about integrity and self respect would have thought twice before getting locked alone with a predator. Looking at the OLV, MIhika Verma the actor was so caught up in emotions that she couldn't stop crying. She was that embarassed to take it light heartedly considering it was just a scene in the show. That tells me that all this modernism is nothing but BS cause in real life no one is that MODERN to risk one's integrity, dignity and honor.

Priye

If they follow through logically and send Ashok to prison and show Raman taking charge and thrashing the hell out of the guy, atleast it will be worth watching👏
Based on some posts on the BEat today looks like ISHITA WILL TAKE LEAD and solve this problem

Raman is as good as wall paper on the show the last week or so.. Ashok is HIS rival, Shagun is his EX wife, wonder why he is suddenly so powerless😲

I am happy they showed what they did, because it will be a deterrent to some "modern fools" that are plotting such a move at their work place...

They could have spared Mihika and have her employ a paid actor or something... its unfortunate the only cute love story I was interested in that was the NON LEAD kind has been gutted😭
