Mani - a double faced character

Here is a woman, Ishita who is doing exactly what he wants in a girl who will become his life partner but other than being happy, he keeps reminding his BFF that the kids whom she call as her own are her step-kids and so their problem should not be dumped on her. She should not keep on forgiving them and ask Raman to seriously put her away from all this mess.

Can a mother be away from her child even if they hurt her again and again ? Can a child's problem be just theirs and not of parents ? Would Mani like it if his wife gives his niece and nephew a motherly love but run away at the first hint of their problems or does he do the same with the kids now and all this immense love for them is just farce.
