This show had so much potential to deal with issues showing how children can get affected by a parent's divorce and another remarrying. Alas, in the quest for TRPs and having a lead who has no self-respect whatsoever in her need to fulfill her selfish needs of self-righteousness and moral policing and in that process convert everyone to her way of thinking (and I apologize if this comes across as harsh - but that's the fact), important tracks that could have had great potential is dealt with as if it's a side show.
Despite whatever brainwashing was done by Shagun towards Adi, I feel that at the end of the day, no one has really ever understood him or what he is going through. This is a kid who is extremely attached to his mother - unfortunately a bad one and in that process alienated his father as well and welcomed another man in his place who again, unfortunately could care less about him. What Adi thinks to be a family, is not a family and he knows it. On the other hand, his father moves on in life and is happy and he sees that and is jealous - which is normal. Raman keep asking - why does Adi hate Ishita? Even if Shagun isn't brainwashing him - Adi doesn't need a reason to hate Ishita, in his eyes, she has taken what was supposed to be his (whether he wanted it or not is a completely different matter) and let's be honest, time and again, he has seen Ishita and Raman tell Shagun off what a bad mother she is. Just like how Ruhi is attached to Ishita and can't see anyone speaking ill of her, it's the same with Adi and although a huge part of the blame lies with Shagun, Raman and Ishita have unknowingly played a part in it as well.
No comments on Mihika.
I wish they had worked on Simmi's realization a little better. Maybe seeing Param being cosy with another woman somewhere - something that will make it all a little more believable especially after showing how blind she was in trusting him.
As far as the whole Bhalla clan attending Shagun's haldi - if trouble comes their way, there is no feeling sorry and I am not buying the whole "Mihir ke liye" crap. Mihir is the most understanding person on this show, and all they need to do is tell him "After all that has happened, we can't be a part of your sister's wedding," and Mihir would have happily accepted it.
There is no telling where this show is heading, the main concept of the show is nowhere to be seen. All we are shown is a twisted sense of self-righteousness from every character except for the villains.
