If Raman is blamed and not for being a real man... somewhere Ishita herself is the reason for her troubles too..

I blame Ishita's friends and relatives for this situation, not Raman's past.

Raman never asked her to indulge in any matters.. she always... sometimes going against his opinion..
If she does everything for him and his family... he may do this for her happiness...
Punishing the culprits is alright... how long can he stand up for her when she goes on doing Mahanaata...

Raman may stand up for her and punish them and but I equally hope she doesn't forgive them as she is a Mahanaatha herself...

Y shud he fight for the lady and child who themselves did not want to come back to him ?
As a parent he still took all the insults and barbs thrown at him through his son and tried reprimanding him whenever he could and how much he could within the court orders.

Today when Ishita is insulted by going and fighting with Param, Ashok and Suraj after all the thing is done, will it gain anything ? No ( Am still sure, he will definitely bash the trio which even I wanna see)

He has been feeling guilty as due to his past, Ishita is in immense pain and is being humiliated publicly time and again, he just wants to stop this cycle. He was confused and was searching for a proper solution to what to do to stop this cycle when his mother-in-law came into view and gave him the solution unknowingly that a woman needs to be set free from the relation if she gets only pain and humiliation in the name of her unending love for that person.

These words coming from an elder whom he equals to as his mother did not go unheard by him and he felt that Ishita might be in pain after he breaks the relationship for sometime (just as Subbu's breakage of engagement gave her) but it will be better for her in the long run, as she will be saved from these repeated humiliation, pain and tears.

It takes the guts for a man to take such a type of decision when he knows that not only his but also his little daughter's life depends on that woman but still he sets her free just for that lady's mental peace and long run happiness.

Apki itni jurat, ke apne Raman ke khilaf kuch kaha? Now see how you get tagged as a basher, coz a few people cannot tell the difference between bashing and criticism. Anyone can be blamed, even Amma but not Raman ok.

Respect your POV, but just want to share mine on this issue too.
I think Raman IS very much a real man. See theoretically, talkig about the 'right stand' and the 'right thing to do' is very simple, but I'm sure there have been many times in our own lives too, that we haven't been able to do the right thing, inspite of knowing what it is. May have been due to immaturity, not being experienced or just because of he situation. Just like that, Raman bhalla has gone through a journey. He's come of age now and he's thinking like a mature man.

Look at it like this - the Raman who was so deeply hurt by his love leaving him has the capability and power of character to think of leaving his love for her happiness today. I obviously am not in favour of him leaving her and we all know he won't, and because this is a serial they have to show it in a little exaggerated way. He's choosing the wrong way maybe, but look at the intentions. He's so much more selfless and caring and protective, which are all qualities of a real man.

But my point is... I feel Raman is a real man and a very good portrayal at that. As DT said in an interview... He could have gone and beaten up all of them and landed up in jail... acting like any other aggressiive teenager, but the way he consoles her is so much more manly and so much more useful at that point. Journey hai he yahi. The man who used to get angry and beat up people is now mature and man enough to tackle situations the way they should really be tackled.

Just a POV. No offense to anyone :)
