We saw in flash back, 6/7 years ago Shagun telling Adi not to expect anything from his father,Raman. Ashok uncle was there to take care, he would solve their problem whenever needed. She then phoned Raman's the then boss Ashok to thank him and she praised him as live saviour. Raman watched the whole scene helplessly.
Now, at present, Raman's current wife is chanting and praising Mani all the time for some time. Whenever there is any problem, she never asks for any family member to help but Mani.Mani over willingly manages everything for Ishita. Ishita in return praises him like anything. She told him that nothing can be expected from Raman. On the other hand, she's repeatedly chanting--Mani is her live savior, Mani is her hero, Mani is her rescuer. She constantly compares Raman with Mani. Raman too in this case helplessly has become a mere witness.
Does the similarity between two ring any bell?
I know Shagun and Ishita are not same. Ishita would never go for money and luxury. But what if Ishita's repeated Mani chants make Raman think she is not really happy with him? What if he thinks she's with him for Ruhi's sake only? Raman once asked Ishita whether she was happy with this marriage or not. So, he cares for her happiness and if he thinks(misunderstands) that her happiness lies else where, then this lighthearted event can take a serious turn. As the proverb says, a burnt child dreads the fire, a burnt Raman facing the similarity of his ugliest past once again can be damn vulnerable. And, a vulnerable RKB can be more impulsively dangerous than explosives.
