Ishita looked at him suddenly and she wiped her tears even though they had completely mixed in with the rain water. And she looked away to hide every bit of emotion that was clearly written on her face.
"What the hell you are doing in the middle of the road? Are you thinking of killing yourself? Why have you been thinking of stop killing others with your stupid lectures?"
"Raman, can you ever be serious?"
"I am seriously serious. Can't you see from my face? I was waiting for you in the hotel? And here you are enjoying in the rain?"
Ishita was quite.
"Hello, Mrs. Ishita bhalla? May I know what is the reason after your silence?"
Still Ishita didn't answer.
"Can you please tell me, what are you doing in the middle of the road? When I was there waiting in the hotel for you? Did you find getting wet yourself in the rain more interesting then joining me on a hatred date?"
Still Ishita was quite.
"Hello, I am talking to you."
"Raman, you go!"
"Have you lost it? Come get into the car? You will get sick," Raman snapped and he was going to hold her arm when she moved away.
"Now what's wrong? Come we are already getting late."
"Raman, please just go."
Today, Ishita wasn't irked, but she looked way too hurt. Raman's tactic to annoy her and ask the reason behind her sad mood didn't work. But he tried again.
"Don't tell me you want me to pick you up in my arms and carry you to the car? Or you want to get killed but want me to join you in too? Let me clear that to you, last time I picked you up and I got serious back fracture."
Raman was worried at her silence but more than that angry.
"Would you say something?"
"No, I don't have to something, Raman. I don't want to go anywhere with you. Just leave me alone. Whether I get sick, I die, what you to do with it?"
"For god sake I am your husband!" he shouted.
"But only of a name!"
"What have happened to you all sudden?"
"Nothing has happened to me you just go to Shagun!"
Raman looked at her confused.
"What? What did you say?"
"Yes, go to her. I am happy for both of you. I am happy that you both have decided to be together. After all who am I? No one. We hate each other. We were never on good terms. The reality is I can never be your wife. Shagun was always your first love and she would always be. In the eyes of every one I am your second woman and I would always remain."
"Wait, wait, wait, what the hell you are you saying?"
"Raman, you don't have to act as you don't know anything. Because I know everything. I have seen you and Shagun talking. I have heard you saying that if Shagun will get Adi back in your life, you and Shagun would he together."
"What rubbish? Wait, you were there when me and Shagun were talking?"
"Yes, I was there."
Now something started getting clear to him. Half listened, half ignored, he knew.
"I never said that I will let Shagun come back into my life if she will allow Adi come back into my life."
"Why does it matter to you anyways?" he asked.
Now Ishita was angry.
"It matters to me a great deal, Raman. Because I love you! I thought you love me too. I thought you had called me to confess your love for me. But no, you had called me to tell that Adi will be back into your life. I am okay with that, Raman. I am happy."
"It's not the truth; Darn it."
"So, what is the truth?" she yelled.
"The truth is I love you too, Ishita!" Raman answered.
Ishita was confused whether Raman just confessed his love for her or she was just imagining things in her head.
His confession buzzed in her mind like a song. A sweet song.
"You actually didn't hear the whole conversation. You know what this is the problem of every woman. They hear half things and rest they make of their own. If you had stayed there to hear what you heard, you should have afford to hear the rest of the conversation.
"Darn it! I love you, I can never let a woman life Shagun back in my life. Woman who didn't respect my love. I can't let her come back in my life when I have everything that I deserve. That is you as my Ruhi's mother and as my wife. As far as Adi is concerned I don't have to bring that woman in my life who changes her route seeing the direction of the wind. I love my son, but I am not that desperate to get him that I ruin my life once again. I know why she wanted to come into my life. I am pretty you know this too. You know that Ashok has left her.
"Today, I had called you to the hotel so that I can confess that I love you. No to tell that I am going to ruin my life."
"Raman, you are telling the truth!" she said in a half broken voice.
"Do I have to write a note and get it signed from a Supreme Court judge just to convince you that I am in love with you?!" he said but he knelt on his one knee.
"Ishita, that's the truth we never liked each other. But now I have realized how much importance you keep in my life. You are not only my daughter Ruhi's Ishi ma, you are her father's life too. I don't know when and how but I fell in love with you."
Ishita broke down.
"Raman, I am sorry!"
"Do you accept my love for you, Ishita?"
"I love you, Raman!"
Raman got back on his feet and hugged her tightly.
"I can not live without you, Ishita. It's the fact. Much I wanted not to fall in love with you or anybody else, more I was attracted towards you."
Ishita was on cloud 9. She thanked god, nothing happened as she had thought.
"Now shall we go home?" he said as he pulled back from the hug. But her whole weight fell back, just on time he held her. She had fainted being in the rain for long period of time.
"Ishita?" he called alarmed. Out of worry he immediately carried in his arms and drove back home. Just so that she doesn't catch fever.
Whereas on the other hand, Shagun saw them as she was driving back to her home.
"They love each other, my foot!" she fumed.
