But the problem is due to garlic. Not sure about this episode but in the wedding night episode, mihika especially tells Raman that it's "GARLIC" rasam and feeds him.

Garlic is known to cause stomach irritation, heartburn and gas apart from few other side effects like bad odour,etc. Not that everyone gets it but few people do suffer.

Navratri is still not over. And ishu said no garlic for 9 days. Wont that be again illogical if they made garlic rasam?? ๐Ÿ˜• I'm nt obsessed with rasam its just tht logic fit nhi ho rha ๐Ÿ˜†

ye lo meet a bit of info abt Rasam ๐Ÿค“
rasam is a south indian variation of soup. usually thin in consistency its either had plain or can be had with rice. very good for coughs, colds and fever. there are many types of rasam that are made like tomato rasam, dal rasam, drumstick rasam, pepper cumin rasam, pineapple rasam, garlic rasam and so on.
recipie for tarmarind rasam (its my fav coz of the tangy n spicy flavor)
Ingredients
main ingredients:
  • 1 lemon sized tamarind soaked in 1 cup water for 30-40 mins
  • 1 medium sized tomato (tamatar)
  • 3 or 31/2 cups water
  • cup chopped coriander leaves (dhania patta)
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • salt as required
ingredients for the rasam powder
  • tsp black pepper (kali mirch)
  • 1 or 1.5 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
  • 4-5 garlic cloves
  • 3-4 dry red chilies
  • 2 to 3 strands of coriander leaves with the stems (optional)
tempering ingredients
  • tsp black mustard seeds (rai)
  • tsp cumin seeds/jeera (optional)
  • tsp asafoetida powder (hing)
  • 10-12 curry leaves (kadi patta)
Instructions
  1. soak the tamarind in 1 cup water for 30-40 minutes.
  2. squeeze the pulp from the soaked tamarind with your hands in the water. keep aside.
  3. crush the tomatoes with your hands and add this to the tamarind pulp.
  4. you can also chop the tomatoes, if you prefer.
  5. make a semi coarse powder in a dry grinder or in a mortar-pestle with the ingredients mentioned under rasam powder.
  6. heat oil in a pan. first fry the mustard seeds till they pop.
  7. add cumin and fry till they are browned.
  8. add curry leaves, garlic and asafoetida. fry for some seconds.
  9. add the tamarind pulp - crushed tomatoes mixture.
  10. add the ground semi coarse rasam powder.
  11. stir and then add about 3 cups water. season with salt.
  12. bring to one boil and then simmer for 5-6 minutes.
  13. lastly add chopped coriander leaves and give a stir.
  14. serve tamarind rasam hot.
Now tell my what harm can this dish do, huh??๐Ÿ˜†

i love south Indian food... but for me its only Sambar-rice, dosa, idli and vada. aur kuchh kabhi taste nahi kiya ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ณ

next time when i'll go to south india restaurant, will see if the have rasam ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜†

Radha here we have limited manu for south India dishes..
never heard this dish and not even saw it in any manu..
so i really doubt if i'll get it here...

even authentic SI restaurants serve onlt dosa, idli, vada
and few more like uttapam, uppam and 2-3 more, i dnt knw the name
