Why YHM and Ishita's character is close to my heart

This show and Ishita's character is very close to my heart. I actually know a woman who went through what Ishita is going through ( minus shagun Drama).
She has the same problem as Ishita ( cannot conceive) and she was not married till she was in her 30s.
Like RKB said to Ishita in the beginning of this show, she had been rejected many times.
Then like Ishita she got married to a guy with two kids. He is a widower.
Older kid is old enough to know her mom and she refused to call this lady amma in the beginning. Younger one was just few months old.
Within a year older kid started calling her amma on her own. She took care of them so well they soon forgot that she is their step mom.
Whenever I see Ishita and Ruhi together I become very emotional thinking about that lady and feel so proud of her.Divyanka nailed it in showing that pain.
Such women who have so much love to give, but sometimes none to take it, do exist and this show is a tribute to them.
I flinch everytime somebody says something bad to Ishita including Raman.

Coming to the show:

Needless to say this is truly unique show and Karan, Divyanka and Ruhi brought the characters to life.
Normally I do not follow daily soaps, even if I do I will quickly lose interest because they are too cheesy or unrealistic.
I just happened to watch an episode in telugu.Toshiji, Mrs Iyer and north - south conflict got me interested in the show.
Then RKB entered the show and that's it I am hooked to it. I caught up with all episodes in Hindi and I am now current in Hindi.
I am glad I came across this show as I got to see some finest talent out there.

I loved Adi's accident track as it brought out the best in Karan and Divyanaka.
They literally competed with each other and took us on emotional roller coaster ride in this track.
Divyanaka did so good in the scene where she first comes to know about picnic with Shagun and Adi.
I am a bit partial to Karan.I am just floored by his talent. His performance as RKB is outstanding.

I really enjoyed last week's episodes. Saturday's one is too good.Mihir did a very good job in the scene where he blasts his mother and sister.
His character is very consistent and stable.
Got to see the cuties Ruhi and Shravu.

However I did not like Raman's reaction to Shagun's KKH moment in Vandita's surprise party.
I was expecting much more than that. It should have been something like ' It was foolishness of a foolish person back then.
Asli romance abhi aa rahi hai mere life me after all apshaguns are gone'.
He owes that much to Ishita and this would have put Shagun in her place.
Instead he fed her ego by saying all romance is gone from his life with her.
Because of this the rain dance did not have that much impact although KP and DT did stupendous job at it.
It would have meant much more if it happened before Vandita's Party. It seems Raman does anything good to Ishita as a reaction to Shagun.
To me shower scene is spontaneous, genuine and more romantic.

Vandita's party episode showed how low people like Shagun can stoop.
She proved that she respects neither of her relationships by narrating a romantic moment with her ex in front of whole bunch of people.
She likes Ashok for her own selfish reasons, at the same time she seeks Raman's attention and wants him to be stuck on her to satisfy her ego.
And it is Raman's fault as he fed her ego by reacting to her presence and wallowing in self pity.
She is the most selfish materialistic person who has no maternal bone in her body, who clearly cannot see anything or anyone beyond herself.
Even animals takecare of their young ones till they become independent, while she left a
doting husband and adorable children( one with ex and one in hostel) to have masti with Ashok.
(Ashok mentions they had fun on revolving bed in an earlier episode).
I wonder why Raman is having such a hard time getting over a piece of crap like her.
He should be ashamed of himself for being in love with such person for so long.
But then he is being shown as a person with majbooris.
If he is that weak then he deserves that good for nothing female Shagun.
He does not deserve a gem like Ishita as he can never give her the pure,
unconditional love that she truly deserves with his majbooris.
Shagun is a perfect example of bitter truth that beauty alone can get you many chances in life no matter how shallow or worthless one is.
I hear people saying she might try to comeback in to Raman's life when Ashok throws her out.
But as of now she seems to be least bit interested in Raman's middle class life as she got used to luxurious life of Ashok.
She will fight for Ashok.

Raman keeps taunting Ishita that she is not good enough for him to fall in love with.
He does not seem to remember that he too was not good enough and was rejected by someone.
All Ishita gets from him is disrespect and mixed signals inspite of everything she does
while Shagun was showered with flowers eventhough she never lifted a finger for him.what an irony?.
Raman keeps taunting Ishita being overweight. She can lose weight and look even more gorgeous, but he cannot grow any tall :-) Just saying Mr Chotu Bhalla.😉
I do enjoy their nok joks and cute fights.
Karan and Divya are so natural and spotaneous, sometimes I wonder if the scenes are even scripted. It appears they can go on till the director says cut.
But some of the oneliners are little over board and hurtful.
Raman realizes that Ishita is a good person and an ideal mom.And he certainly cares for her.
But he does not seem to find her that attractive, which again is ok,as we do not get attracted to everyone who is good at heart.

But where does this all put Ishita?
Poor thing is hopelessly in love with Raman.Felt really bad for her when she was sitting there watching everyone
including older couples narrating their KKH moments, wanting such moments for herself,
but resigning to the possibility that she may never get such moments in her life.
(remember her chat with Amma about love during Accident track).
It is very sad to see her lowering herself to the point of being happy with
occasional mixed signals and some pity love from Raman( She did so much for me let me do something for her kind of love).
The way they are showing in the show she may never get the love or respect from Raman that she truly deserves.

To me Raman is no better than Subbu unless he realizes that Ishita is more important to him than his own kids.
Even Subbu would have happily married Ishita if he was divorced with two kids.

Ishita should be emotionally detatched from Raman to protect herself from getting hurt( because of Raman's majbooris).
She should not give in until and unless raman gives in completely.

Her only solace in this relationship is the pure love she gets from Ruhi. I felt very happy for Ishita
when Ruhi said she should have been born to her and not to Shagun. To me that scene is the essence of YHM.

In my opinion show would have been much more interesting if Raman was attracted to Ishita
even before marriage, but slowly give in to that attraction only after knowing that she is a good person.
This would have done justice to the woman in Ishita's character.

It appears Ashok will throw out Shagun ( which she deserves) and I believe she will fight for Ashok.
If it does not work out then she might try to manipulate Raman to be back in his life or mahaan Ishita might sacrifice her love thinking that it is good for everyone.
If this happens then YHM will go down the drain.
For this show to be different from others, Ishita should shed her mahaanta and
fight Shagun and beat her at her own game to keep Raman to herself.
For a change I would like to see selfish posessive Ishita where Raman is concerned.
I remember her telling Shagun that she will not leave Raman as she did in earlier episode.

I feel Divyanka is not being shown glamourous on purpose. Not sure if it required of the character.
She can easily outshine all other female characters in the show
with proper hair style ( for starters need to get rid of that big puff on her head),makeup and accessories, considering her classically beautiful features.

Finally, Thanks to Ms Ekta for putting together a unique show with best talent out there.
KP and DT's performance has literally sucked me into whirlpool of emotions.
They are too good to be true.Their expressions and body language is simply superb.
They have perfect understanding of each scene and it shows on the screen. It is a treat to watch them together. Keep it up.
If there are any hiccups in their performance then it is the fault of directors as these two have already established how good they are.
All the supporting cast is good too, especially Toshiji and Mrs. Iyer.

Editing : Recently the show is fumbling in editing and screenplay departments.
Editing is particularly bad in romantic scenes. It spoils the feel and hardwork put in by the artists.
It was quite gripping till Adi's accident track. Started deteriorating from picnic track.
There is no proper continuation to the scenes or closure to the tracks.
Lot of times the scenes seem to be rushed, incomplete and illogical.
Please try to keep the show unique and logical.

Thanks for reading my long post.
