Does wife sit on right side?

I have seen in quite few poojas wife always sits on the left side husband.

I remember weddings first couple is bride made to sit right of groom..and after the wedding ceremony..they are made to sit bride left of groom..

but here in this satyanarayan pooja ishita is sitting right of Raman.

please can anybody clarify?

I don't know clearly. but I heard long time she that first wife only placed left and all other marriage's (I mean second marriage or something) wife's will sit in right. in Mahabharata gangadevi sits in right lap of father of king santhanu. that time santhanu's father tells gangadevi that left lap is meant for wife and right lap is meant for daughter and DIL. so I swear you that you'll be wife of my son. so up to my knowledge wife's place must be in left. in case he did two marriage, first one to left and second one to right.

In the tradition of the Iyers...wife sits on the right for poojas and marriage ceremony. Only for specific parts of the ceremony like getting ashirwaad after the wedding ceremony it is on the left.

I am sure I always sit Left to my husband. I think it has to do with your main deity I mean vishnavas( one who pray lord Vishnu) sit to left and shivas ( one who pray to lord Shiva) sit to right. By the way I am south Indian( from telangana)
