Raman glared at her for a few seconds and then smirked saying "Exactly! Now you got my point? Agar itna hi khayal hota ki ye 'humara' kamra hai aur 'humara' bed hai, toh meri hi ex-wife, yani tumhari sautan ko tum is tarah bina soche samjhe raste se uthaake yahan patak nahi deti!"
Ishita understood his point and lowered her gaze in guilt. Raman looked away, to avoid her notice the pain in his eyes.
She slowly lifted up her eyes only to find him looking away, but her heart could feel his pain no matter how much he tried to hide it.
She placed her hand on his shoulder, gently sqeezing it to get his attention, but he remained still, not turning to even look at her.
Disappointed at that, she thought to leave him alone for sometime as she couldn't see him suffer anymore, especially she being the reason for his pain this time.
As she let go of her hold on him and turned back to leave, he held her hand gently yet firmly and spoke to her, his eyes still looking away "6years Ishita!"
Ishita turned to face him, her hand still in his grasp as he continued "6years she had tormented me and my family and my children! She snatched away everything from me and gave only heartache in return. I turned into a heartless businessman who had only one feeling- the hatred. I...I forgot that I have a heart...Heck! I forgot that I was alive Ishita! Till..."
His words trailed off as he found it difficult to continue. She had tears in her eyes, feeling every pain that he had gone through. She asked him in a gentle tone "Till what Raman?"
He took a deep breath, closed his eyes as a lone tear escaped and a small smile appeared on his lips as he looked now deep into her eyes saying "Till you entered my life! You reminded me to breathe... you reminded me that my heart is still beating... you reminded me that I'm still alive Ishita. You showed me how to love, you made me realise my responsibilities towards my family. And most of all, you healed my broken heart."
She blushed profusely on hearing this. His eyes were still fixed on her, without even a blink. He was awestruck seeing her smiling and blushing deeply , all due to his effect on her.
He held both her hands tightening his grip and she sensed a certain tension in his mind. She looked at him worriedly, trying to read his eyes when he confessed to her "But I'm scared Ishita. I'm scared to even imagine that woman messing up my life again! I'm scared that I'll lose the happiness that came after a long time in my life. I...I...I'm scared to lose you Ishita!"
She couldn't believe what she heard. Tears started flowing down her cheeks as she stared at him in awe.
Nariyal kumar! Upar se itne khadoos dikhate hai khud ko magar dekho zara...kitna masoom aur saaf dil hai inka.
She smiled at that, shaking her head as she wiped her tears and held his hand saying "I'm really really sorry Raman ki I brought Shagun home without thinking of it's consequences. I know I have freshened the old wounds. But I promise you Raman, no matter what happens, I'll never leave you or this family for anyone or anything. Be it Shagun or any other 3rd person, nobody can harm you as I'll always stand in between that person and you. Whoever casts an evil eye on you, will have to face me before reaching you."
Raman heaved a sigh of relief on hearing it from her. He knew that she'll never leave him or his family. She had proven him time and again and has stood by his side even when he had given her nothing but pain. Yet, he wanted an assurance from her as she has become his strength, his true companion in every sense and he could now not imagine a single moment in his life without her.
He smiled at her as she reciprocated too with a wide smile as they both returned to the living room. She made him sit on the dining table and went to the kitchen to warm up the food as he looked on at her, his heart filled with a new found of happiness.
As she walked towards him and served the food in his plate, he asked her to sit beside him. He asked her if she ate to which she replied "aapke bina kaise khaati. waise bhi, aap itna gussa kar rahe the. pata hai kitna darr gayi thi main!" she pouted at him cutely.
He smiled naughtily at her saying "Darr? aur tum?? areh tumse toh chudailen bhi darke bhaag jaati hai. aur waise acha hai, isi bahane tumhara kuch toh wajan kam hoga aur agli baar tumhe uthaana pade toh meri peet nahi tootegi na!"
She, being his jhansi ki rani, fought back equally "aapki peet kamzor hai to meri kya galti hai? waise bhi ab aapki umar ho chuki hai. To apna aur apne bhudape ka dhyan rakha karo!".
He smiled saying "oye! Buddha kisko kaha?Itna bhi uksao mat mere andar ke sher ko ki baad me tumhe pachtana pade. Samjhi madrasan?"
Ishita looked at him in bewilderment at the choice of his words which could have a different meaning altogether.
Before she could try to register his words, he extended his hand towards her mouth to feed her the food with a casual look. To lighten the atmosphere around them, he talked about his childhood memories and the happy moments he spent with his siblings.
She ate from his hands happily as he continued blabbering about how he and Romi would race in childhood and how he would lose it willingly making Romi win, only to see his brother's happiness.
Ishita smiled as she looked at her husband proudly for what he is as a person. She was lost in her thoughts when he snapped at her.
She came back to her senses as he suddenly asked her in a curious tone "Ek baat poochun Ishita? Tumhe thodi bhi insecurity mehsoos nahi hui jab tum uss shagun ko humare ghar- humare bedroom me leke aayi thi?".
Ishita smiled and said "Bilkul nahi!"
He arched his eyebrows waiting for her to explain why. She entwined her fingers with his as she looked into his eyes and said "Insecurity waha hota hai jahan pyaar aur trust nahi hota. And I trust you Raman. I know ki aap kabhi aisa kuch nahi karoge jisse aapke family ko dukh pahunche."
Raman smiled tightening his grip on her saying "You're right Ishita. Kal mere paas sabkuch hoke bhi kuch nahi tha. Aur aaj mere paas wo sab kuch hai jo maine kabhi socha bhi nahi tha. And I'll never let anyone take away anything from my life now."
A few minutes later, in their bedroom, Raman looked on at her as he sat on the couch in their room. Ishita was changing the bedsheet, pillow covers and the blankets as he said he would not sleep on the bed where shagun slept last night.
Ishita, I don't know if I'm falling in love with you or not, but today I'm sure of one thing that I cannot and I do not want to imagine my life without you. Whether we take our relationship to another level or not, I just pray to God that we be together in this journey of life.
She called out to him to inform him that the bed is ready and she had changed everything so he can now sleep on the bed.
He got up and walked towards the bed when he saw her picking her pillow and quilt to sleep on the couch.
He stopped her and threw the pillow and quilt on the bed. Shocked at that, Ishita questioned "Raman???".
He replied in a stern dominating voice- "Ishita, bahut hogaya couch pe sona. Ye bed 'humara' hai. Tum yahan mere saath so sakti ho. You see, tumhari tarah main nahi chillaunga ki tum mere paas kyun so rahi ho. Just a warning though- keep yourself in control." he winked.
Ishita threw a pillow on him saying "Haawww! Khudko pehle control me rakho ravan kumar."
He threw back the pillow on her replying "niyat to tumhari kharab lag rahi hai Madrasan."
Their pillow fight continued till Ruhi came inside running . She saw her parents fighting as usual and she hit her forehead with her palm saying "Offo! mumma-papa firse shuru hogaye!"
Her words brought Raman and Ishita to their senses as they both dropped their pillows and stood like culprits infront of their lil angel.
She kept her hands on her waist as she ordered them "Kaan pakdo dono aur sorry bolo." They did as she ordered. She laughed and then said "chalo ab mujhe huggie do!" she demanded as she ran into their arms.
Raman and Ishita hugged their precious daughter and Raman took her in his arms while he pulled ishita towards him,putting his arm across her shoulder.
He felt like he was the most happiest person on earth, seeing the two most important women of his life in his arms.
