Hey Kri lovely post but I have to say I don't find Ishita as his weakness, on the contrary she is becoming so much more important to him that everything else is taking a backseat in his life, she is becoming the most important person to him even if he may not openly acknowledge it in words.
the instances you have cited as examples here is my take on em
Thanks for liking it yaar...😊
1) picnic - he wanted to be alone with her and yes it bummed him out that what was in his mind some alone time they would spend, a first for them she made it a family event. Yes he freaked out that she may not remember him when she played that prank but it was the fear of being lost to her that got to him... yes lost to her, cos she has made so much of difference in his life in the short span she has been around he can't imagine a day without her now, should that be taken away from him - he would lose the footing he found at last when it comes to his personal life. Without her he would lose his way again. Instead of saying it was the first instance of his weakness, I would say it was his first admittance of what Ishita means to him, how he feels with her in his life - the fact that he not only proclaimed they are happily married but also that she is the mother of his children is important as per me as he included Adi in the equation as well. Prior to this track Shagun kept saying one thing to emotionally blackmail Raman - Ishita would punish Adi as she isn't his mom, here he admitted it for a second time after asking for her support in her clinic and made it be known he means it - to him she is Adi' mom as well now.
That's a different way of putting it...Interesting... Loving this POV...
2)Again I would say it is fear and nothing else acting out on Raman, he is being attracted to a woman after a long, long time and he knows, has always seen she is beautiful; but now that he knows her as a person, that surface beauty also affects the man within him. And in the cooking scene he didn't look away rather they shared a moment when she saw he was looking at her and didn't back down too.
True... Somewhere i felt it is making him go weak in his knees... Her care, concern, love...
3) the jealousy thing is actually cute but you know what - its possessiveness that is actually at the core here. It scares him that she may be still harboring feelings for a man who left her long back; but at the same time he didn't like taking a backseat in her life in her present too, since she gave the prominence he wanted to his own daughter. Usually in such cases where a single parent remarries they want their partner to be at least cordial with their child, if not love them, they wish their partner would treat their kid well. Here Ishita, she loves and adores Ruhi and that should make Raman feel glad, instead it makes him feel second to his own daughter and he doesn't want that. He wants to be Ishita' priority and the most important person who matters to her. He wants her to himself so very much he can't even allow his own daughter to share that space.
Aha...I forgot to bring Ruhi in this equation... Thanks for pointing it out... Yes, that was a funny part... The relationship which started for Ruhi is now yearning to go beyond that person...
4) I would say not just the match but ever since she has been injured it has been shown how very much he cares for her from brushing her teeth to learning how to drape a saree for her. He wants to do it all for her, and in doing so somehow make her see how much she means to him. He wants his efforts recognized though he is still too scared to admit things openly hence hides behind his taunts whenever he does something for her like in the apple feeding scene why not cut the apple and hand her the plate, instead he extended a piece to her to feed her.
Exactly... That care again made me see a different Raman... His sensitive side which has been reserved for his kids is now finally extending its hands towards Ishita also which made me doubt him again...
5) the blackmail drama - I am sorta divided on it. I find the usage of it here to be a little off putting to tell you the truth mainly because he made the other guys go scot free too had it been rather used as only a ticket for him it would have made me enjoy it more. Somehow that is my only grievance with it, though I see he wants to gain Ishita' attention by any means possible. He wants to make sure he is on her mind even if she is cursing him somehow 😆
Actually, even i was quite confused... But, looking at the lighter side, felt Raman can be forgiven... I was reminded of his dialogue where he warned Bala to stay away from those girls since they were married... So, gustakhi maaf...😆
Phew made quite a long post on that one.
