Lucky I so loved this piece of yours the conflict Raman is in is so beautifully expressed here.

The way he cant seem to help himself, he is drawn towards her; as a person and as a woman. If it were only her beauty - a physical attraction at work here he perhaps wouldn't have had such a hard time battling with himself, but that's not the case here.. he sees her for the person she is which makes it so much more real, difficult and mostly scary to him.

For a man who has been burnt once he has trust issues, and that part of him so makes him hold himself back... but then she, she unwittingly, unknowingly challenges him - all his preconceived notions and that has him rattled - his mind and heart are at war here because this woman makes it impossible for him to hate her. And he doesn't wanna fall in love with her at the same time... but then how can he stop himself from wanting her? And he knows.. with their relationship he cannot even hope or expect a relationship that is purely uni-dimensional in nature as well. Its impossible... and therein lies the challenge... all his senses - all the ways that a man wants a woman - they are being tackled here - as an intellectual partner, an emotional support, someone who makes him a better man and someone he desires physically as well - she is presenting the biggest challenge he has ever faced in his life to him which really makes it so wonderful to read his dilemma.
