Thank you for such a thought provoking post.

I found it quite telling that within a day of Ishita leaving the Bhalla's Raman is the one who loses his 'modesty' quite literally. I can understand the writers wanting to bring some light relief to the audience ( which it did) but I too found the whole scene to be foreshadowing the physical and emotional loss Raman is now suffering.

Yay Heema - I was hoping you would visit this post and add your thoughts as well.
I didn't know Ishita is Godess Durga's name - the meaning is apt for Ishita. She has really had to take the Maa Durga roop in the situation, stoically standing for the truth and against evil.
They have shown her Greatness and Mastery and have shown what a desired daughter, bahu and human and in fact patni she is. Raman though still has to acknowledge the desired part.
Thanks for reminding us about how Draupadi walks thru fire five times to regain her virginity and purity. I wonder what Mr Bhalla represents - Bhishma Pitamaa?
Yes this is a big big shift for Raman to start sensing that Ishita had a problem while in Mumbai.
Interestingly, while everyone wanted him to stand up for Ishita he actually has shown "patience" in dealing with the situation.
Good point about "Parmeet is Simi's only identify .she has nothing if she loses her husband .she appeared petrified" No wonder she is in major denial
I forgot to mention in my post - it was also an interesting contrast how they showed the Raman-Shagun situation and this Raman-Ishita situation:
When Shagun left, she in fact was cheating and Raman blindly trusted her stood up for her against Mr Bhalla. This broke his relationship with his father. In addition, Shagun's leaving complete broke and disempowered him and made him a worse person.
While Ishita, is in fact innocent and Raman initially didn't stand up for her. It turns out he did trust her with his inner eye so to speak and instead of reacting emotianally, he is responding rationally.. Ishita's leaving will in the long run actually empower and help heal Raman and well mend and heal the family.

Hi again . I took some time off from the forum , I was waiting for good puts to reply and I found one . Thanks to aimf .
I loved the writers take on Ramen's position. I know forum wants Ramen to trust Ishita (and Ramen does .)but he is trapped between Kua and Khai . One side is his sisters life and otherside is own . At Such time silence is better . Over reacting either way is dangerous . He was mad when he read the text massages but he wasn't out of control . He asked her simple question. When Ishita asked him " Sub ke Samane aap mejhe puchate ho ?I Wished BG music was not so loud .Her Voice modulation was perfect.

Defiantly , Ramen knows difference between these two women .I don't mind BG and songs but sometimes it overused and dilutes the meaning of the scene .I wishes they hadn't use BG music during her exit . Silence would have been more effective .they both had excellent expressions during that time , it was enough..it ruined it for me .

Overall writers are handling this very difficult social issue realistically and actors are making it watchable . No one is overacting to prove the point .

Thanks for visiting and responding to the post. Excellent response. You make some interesting observations about Draupadi's trial by fire multiple times --an interesting way in which women in India till today walk this dance of power and powerlessness simultaneously.

I think Bala is Krishna of sorts, and like Asha pointed out, Bhishma is represented by Papa Bhalla.

I also like Asha's point about Romi learning a thing or two from all this.

@'bold very sad indeed . We came long way but we still have long way to go .women with child specially male child gives big status in the family and infertile women has none . I was shocked when Parmeet said " no side effects of this relationship " what a blow to an infertile women . So she is disposable ?very very sad situation .

Romi and learning ?lets keep our fingers cross.

Nice response. Thanks for bringing up the empty coffee glass. That too is a nice analogy, a reflection of the emptiness in Raman, and a feeling of being drained from the standpoint of Mrs. Iyer. It is interesting that the same Mrs Iyer who fed him sumptuously when Ishita and Toshiji had put Raman on an enforced fast, now bangs an empty coffee glass to indicate that she is withdrawing her nurturing. Raman's cup will no longer be full, if he continues to treat Ishita like this.

Agree Sneha😆. Raman's response is often not the immediate one we seek, but when he takes it, it is thoughtful and impactful - e.g. Like the speech, his authentic response is slowly but well cooked and comes from within!

Can't wait to see/hear what he will do/say in the "exposing" of PervMeet once he has all his saboot.

Except of course his precious on-liners that are authentically immediate and impactful.

Hey Sneha!😆
The best part about his speech was, it was totally unexpected. With the way he was actually behaving, one never thought that he would thank Ishita let alone a speech. That too in Tamil! A lot of preparation went into that.
Yes. Even I am eagerly waiting for the 'expose Parmeet' scene. Specially, since he said he'll speak once he gets evidence proving Ishita's innocence. I really hope he does.
Raman's one liners are just great. It is hard to ignore them even during serious situations like when he was searching for Ishita and the watchman brought up the possibility of something happening to Ishita. He said, "Sansani math suna".😆

@Heema

Loved your points about the loud music and the OTT background effects that take away from the subtle touches and sometimes from even hearing the dialogues properly. I have a hard time understanding Raman, for instance, and if I turn up the volume, all the background effects also get amplified.

Silence is hard to decipher. In this age of lightning conclusions quick fixes and instant gratification, there is virtually no value accorded to introspection and contemplation of one's actions or the reasons behind the the actions of others.
