Thank MURUGA I'm NOT the only one who felt that way. I'm a little less fussy when it comes to the tamil dictation and all, since it's not her MT, it is definitely going to be hard for her & others to pronounce it perfectly. Given that sometimes even people whose MT is Tamil don't speak properly. Which is really sad.. & it pisses me off more, when you are talking in Tamil and they are replying back in English.🤔 Lekin I'm still wondering on HOW in the world did KP manage to pull it off so easily?! HOW yaar HOW?! 😆 OH but I do agree on the Muruga part, I just can't seem to get over it. I always see myself correcting her whenever she says, "Oh Murugan", I instantly say "MURUGA Mrs Iyer MURUGA." I would LOVE for the CVs to correct that.
@Bold: TRUE THAT.

She does a good job, but the dialogue delivery is pathetic. These days tamilians speak very good hindi, why are they still showing this good old day "Mehmood Tamil"... Atlest they could have done some dubbing for her...

I absolutely agree. Neena Kulkarni has come a long way with her Tamil. Sometimes it is really frustrating to see them mispronouncing the words, for instance as mentioned murugan. I know it is not her mother tongue but I appreciate her taking the effort. I wish the other cast does the same too. In many instances I've seen divyanka saying 'aiyo murugana' which is much weirder than 'aiyo murugan'. I really want CVS to take care of small details like vanditha is ruhis perimma while in one of the episodes ruhi calls her vandhu chithi. Also they all pronounce 'muttaal'(fool) as 'muthal'. It took a real long time for me to realise that it was actually a Tamil word. I know it is a long list of things. And we can't expect their portrayal of a tambrahm to be perfect. But since they decided to make a show out of it, it is not wrong to expect this much from them. I wish they change DTs wardrobe to suit our culture too(Something like cotton saree's would suit.) I would be happy if she chose Punjabi salwars too. But her current saree's are just to tacky to suit both. BTW I have to mention how iyer Aunty's wardrobe is just too perfect. She looks like a typical iyer maami.

Rishu Darling... For us Sindoor is a must as well... But it doesnt look orange or bright red in color... It is maroon mostly which is called kumkum in Hindi... So it doesnt show much even when we keep it...
Iyer aunty does wear a mangalsutra... note the pendant of her gold chain... it is thaali... but in reality it has many more danglers attached to the chain in the either side of the thaali...

Very true mandarin... I once had suggested Jyotika's Kaaka Kaaka movie's sarees for Ishita! She would look so crisp and professional in those neatly pressed cotton sarees! Iyer aunty definitely looks very much maami!

yup! her tamil has immensely improved and even her accent isn't as bad as it used to be in the starting. in the initial episodes south indian accent was over exaggerated even when she spoke in hindi and english. she has toned that down. hopefully by the end of this year she will speak without too much accent.
and yes like others mentioned the "Murugan" must go. It's only Muruga and no "ayyo"! "ayyo" is considered inauspicious and while invoking Muruga usually we don't say "Ayyo Muruga!"
