One thing like about today's episode.

When Ishita was made to apologize to Adi and Shagun, we were all upset, myself included.

But she chose to apologize, albeit Ruhi ke Liye. Perhaps she shouldn't have, but once she chose to, she gave a clean, factual but effective apology. She did it with dignity, all things considered.

Today, Shagun, when talking to Ashok, admitted that Ishita handled the situation well. She wasn't expecting her to apologize. At minimum the trio had gone in with the intent of causing a tamasha, humiliating Ishu and Adi/Shagun wanting a rift between IshRa.

So, even though begrudgingly, Ishita earned Shagun's respect. Dignity won Respect.

I just read Heema22's (thank you Heema) recent response to my post "Majboori or Choice". She explained that Raman was in a power struggle with Adi and that he needed to disengage to make effective choices with regards to Adi. - that's my translation - she explained it more eloquently.

It was an Ahaa moment for me to realize that, the reason Ishita was effective in the restaurant scenario is that she didn't engage in the power-struggle with Adi/Shagun.

It also makes me think...when Shagun left Raman, he lost his wife, marriage and son and he had no say, no control over what happened. He must have felt incredibly out of control.

To avoid feeling the pain/failure/out of control, he seems to have become chidchida, defensive, controlling, needing to be right, needing the last word etc. He also got into a revenge/power struggle with Ashok - all supposed ways to gain control (NOT!)

His defensive behaviour seems to show up in the constant attitude with Ishita. Allowing himself to open up to Ishita, be vulnerable, would likely feel like a threat to survival so to speak, likely feel like wayyy outta control to Raman. No wonder he is resisting.

My thoughts.. What do you think??

Well very nice post

And interesting point

I found it interesting they used ishita apology to fund jealousy and insecurity in Shagun

Well Raman is everything he is due to his past failures

But that does not give him licence to treat ishita as garbage

He needs a jolt to understand value of ishita

Nice post and agree.
But Raman's behavior doesn't deserve any defense. Okay, he hates Ishu, she is a woman. Arre yaar, she is a human na! Forget that she is a woman, thinking she is a human, he could've at least be not harsh always.

Great post and wonderful point about dignity. Ishita is the epitome of dignity and believes in doing things well. Raman's main problem is one of major betrayal and loss of trust. Whatever shagun did to him, that too right under his nose gave him such a jhatka that he is no longer able to trust anyone, especially someone such as Ishita who is in the place that Shagun had occupied, that of his wife. Therefore the chidchidapan, lack of social skills vis a vis Ishita, and blatant exploitation and misuse of Ishita are camouflage. He surrounds himself with obnoxious mannerisms so that no one can wish to want closeness with him even in their dream. By keeping Ishita at bay through his horrid behavior, Raman is really trying to protect himself from being hurt again.

PS This is not a defense of Raman or an excuse for his behavior. It is just an explanation into the psychological enigma that is Ravan Kumar

I agree with you. Ishita's apology did not fulfill its purpose. True, Raman is protecting himself. I understand that much. But I just wish it was shown that way. It seems more like he is hell bent on taunting Ishita for no reason whatsoever.

@ metamorphmagus

Yes indeed it is not shown that way. I too wish it was. We here are all just giving the benefit of doubt and reading between the lines wherever possible.😆

They should have not written dialogues. Then we could insert our own and enjoy the show!😆

Thank you Mancityfan

Absolutely, his past no matter how horrid does not give him permission to treat Ishita or anyone withu disrespect or unkindly.

He is just so incomprehensible sometimes that I keep wanting to understand what makes him tick. And more importantly what will bring him out of it, perhaps a jolt as you say.

Thank you TanniSDaya.

Yes the way he treats her is so unkind often. It is hard to bear. I am just racking my poor brain to understand what could stop him doing so.
