it's meant to be harmless. i'm not defending their actions but in many families parents are open with their children drinking. my family isn't like that personally but my friend's dad openly drinks with her. i dont think it is a huge deal!

It isn't a big deal. It depends on the family. Some families drink with their children and some don't. It isn't bad in any way.
