Hi everyone! I used to write a FF a long time ago in the Kayamath forum and now, after a long time, I've decided to write another on based on this serial!
I have to confess, I've only seen a handful of episodes of Ye Hai Mohabbatein, and so, I don't know all the characters that well. I am not even sure of all the relationships of the characters on the show. Still, I know the basic premise (Ishita, Raman, Ruhi, Shagun, Ashok, custody, etc.)
So, I've written a little bit, and I would LOVE to get your feedback.
I am starting my story at the point of Ishita and Raman's wedding. The rest of the story so far is exactly the same as it's been shown on television.
My story will pick up from the wedding.
Pyar Ki Pechan/Recognizing Love
Part 1:
Ishita was apprehensive. She didn't know what to expect. Within the span of a day, she was now married to Raman Bhalla, the very man she despised. Now, the wedding activities were winding down and she had been properly introduced to the Bhalla family. As the end of the day approached, Ishita's felt sick to her stomach. Raman was nowhere to be seen and she hoped he wasn't already waiting for her in the bedroom. All evening she had heard his girl relatives giggle and whisper about their "suhaag raat" into her ear. She didn't want to be alone with Raman Bhalla for a second. Still, it was inevitable now that the guests and relatives were leaving. Slowly, she was guided to the room my Raman's sister and few female cousins who wouldn't stop giggling.
It was midnight now and Raman paced around in his room. He was annoyed that his family had decorated the room like a honeymoons suite, with flowers and candles everywhere! He didn't want any of this nonsense. He didn't even want Ishita in his room! He was just realizing that now he had to share a room with that woman. That thought hadn't crossed his mind until just now when he'd entered his room. She would be in here any minute now, and he wanted her to know the ground rules. This was HIS room. It was HIS territory. He wanted her to know that.
There was a quick knock on the door and before Raman could open the door, it was flung open by his sister, Simmi, who screamed, "Tadaaa! Ishita is here!"
Raman glared at the women standing there, with Ishita. He could sense that Ishita felt uneasy, as she kept looking away. "Good," thought Raman, "I want her to feel uncomfortable."
Simmi started giggling, "The girls and I decorated this room for you two as a wedding gift. I hope you like it. I will leave you alone so you can...have fun!" The women continued laughing as they gently pushed Ishita into the room and ran away speedily.
Raman sat down on a chair, next to the window, and glared at Ishita, who was adorned in an intricate and vibrant red lengha. He tried not to focus on how much of a bride she looked, with her hair shining and her skin glowing. He refused to acknowledge that she made a beautiful bride. This was Ishita Iyer after all, and she was annoying, rude, and totally not his type.
"You look," he spoke roughly, "umm...you look like your tired. Why don't you sleep?"
"Excuse me, Mr. Bhalla," she spoke confidently, "but where will I sleep? I don't want to share a bed with you. I may be your wife on paper, but we will not have that kind of relationship."
Her words irritated Raman immensely. He jumped up from his seat in anger, "Listen, Ishita! I don't want anything to do with you! I have thousands of women who want to marry me, but I've ended up with you because of Ruhi. Don't get any ideas. I definitely don't want a husband-wife relationship with you."
He motioned to the sofa where a pillow and blanket were already placed "I don't want to share the bed with you. I'm sleeping on the couch. You can have the bed."
"Thanks," replied Ishita surprised with response and willingness to give her the bed.
She didn't know what else to say. She looked at Raman, as he was still glaring at her. She sighed and turned away. She took off her bangles and jewelry in complete silence before heading into the bathroom to change into her nightgown. When she came into the room, Raman was already sleeping. Silently, she crawled into the bed and closed her eyes. "What have I gotten myself into?" she thought to herself. She knew one thing for certain: her life was now going to change completely.
