Part 9
Raman and Ishita continued their talks, they did talk for a pretty long time and they told each other their final goodbye until Tuesday..thier wedding day.
Everything was finalised. The clothes, the venue, the food, the guests everything. what seem so perfect. Raman and Ishita were indeed very happy.
Ishita had decide to invite Subhu, only because he was in town and she heard from Vandu they shift here fully now, since Subu was unemployed in Chennai, and Mhir had invite his sister Shagun to the wedding as well, afterall thats his sister anyone.
--------------------------
It was Sunday night, Ishita had gone back up and her in-laws had over-too-loud music on and Romi dancing and ofcourse all the Panjabis were drunk drunk drunk. Only person missing was Simmi. Over the year, Simmi had realised what a jerk Parmeet was. Her divorce finalisation and custody case was so easy since parmeet had a such a dirty personal background. Therefore, Simmi was a free-bird again and her parents were very supportive, whislt Parmeet was in jail for 5 years, all alone.
Simmi was to come back from Chardigarh where she had start her new home. She was living at her elder aunty and was teaching the kids at a primary school. She had a decent lifestyle and was in no mood to marry again. She had cried and apologized for her behaviour toward Ishu to her, and the person Ishita was had forgiven her and helped her through every step. They were more than sister-in-laws for sure and this simplicity of Ishita had dragged Raman to fall for her even more that he had already was.
Ishita was out of her thoughts when Simmi had hugged her and pulled her in with the Bhallas for a dance. She has Raman had thumkas and all togehter until she left to her mother's place. All what seemed so perfect.
---------
On the other side, there were the Iyers, very quiet anf higly educated. So clearly there was opera in the background at the lowest volume possible. It was just how they were. To be honest, now all of this had seem so boring. Her overly-active new family she was living with for the past 8 months ha changed her. Although she couldn't recognise if it was for the good or for the bad. Anywyas, she was from the Iyers and she didn't say anything...although the music was horrible, she had her sisters...who were going gaga over the stuff for the wedding. Vandu was also giving some suhaagraat tips to Mihika and had called Ishita as well.
-------------------------
The night had end like this.It was Monday: The joint Sangeet and mehndi function in the evening and a simple cermoney at the temple in the morning. Tuesday at 4 am was the Haldi and then the wedding in the evening. It was a full two hectic days. But clearly manageable ones.
The Sangeet was on, it was half hafl. The beginning of the Sangeet had Mehndi of the girls and the Iyers had thier opera on. It was manageable with the thought of Punjaban tarka at the end, the what thought as boringness to the Bhallas wore off easily. Ofcourse Raman was stealing glances here and there. The Bhallas had concepts, somewhat of the welcoming scene in Hum Saath Saath Hai. There was amelody of stories through dance of couples and everone truly loved it. Raman also had a long dance romatic dance with Ishu and Shagun felt so out of place as well as Subbu. But then at the end of the day everyone gets what they deserve.
The Sangeet was a whole lot of success and it was a very enjoyable one.
Everyone was tired..and the mehdi was also dry and ready to watch, but on Simmi's and Rinky's insistence Ishu couldn't wash it off until before the pooja in the morning..They belived the longer it was on the darker it would be, and they also said thats the tradition in the North, so Ishita had respected that.
------------
It was the next morning. The puja was over. Surpringly, the Bhalla's were early, maybe something they learnt from Ishu...and the puja was also a success.
The haldi was to come from the Bhalla's and Ishu was waiting for it. Raman being the person he is, wanted everything to be differect and be chic. Ofcourse his crazy family helped him in his stupidity. He also felt he was in his twenties and now marrying for the first time. He didnt feel like a father of one child and in his early thirties. He didnt know what this woman did to him, but he felt like a 'freshie'-thirsty for something and for some odd reason. But what did Raman want to do? He didnt want all the haldi off of him, so he send some of it - only as respect so her family could place it on her, but Raman wanted to go personally and touch skin-to-skin, and put the haldi on.
Being the over smart hero he was. He had set up something very stupid, he thought the idea of calling Ruhi to do his job not possible, so he used Rinki, to tell her that it had a hole in her wedding lehenga and Raman was also saying the designer send a size smaller..so she had to change the entire lehenga and samples were on the bed...so he was calling her in his room and to go now as the designers were coming in ten minutes. Ofcourse that would work Raman thought after analysing all possibilities. -and it did actually, the reasoning was which bride won't be pissed off if the wedding dress got messed up that too on the wedding day, like what the fish.!
As Ishita entered the Room, Raman pulled her and applied haldi at what ever opportunity he got, and to be honest Ishita was happy, but she was worried about her lehenga aswell, but Raman had mumbled and assured her that nothing was wrong just his bad head kicking up and he was dying to do this to her. To his surprise Ishu also applied lehega to his bare chest and blushed. She just had to show Raman she was upto his level and could do everything just like he could. - Raman just smiled.
Finally,
It was there wedding time.
At the Bhallas. Raman was dressing, he got his clothes picked up from the laundry but had Simmi pressing it a million times. A crease was annoying him and all this over-too-much-drama was annoying his poor sisters. Raman was wearing a matching suit to Ishita's. They bought the outfit together and it was color coordinated. It was a simple kurti male top but was light blue-green in color with little blue, red and green beading. His pants want Punjabi style in a red color. He had on typical funny looking wedding shoes, and a matching red orrdni to his pants. He looked like any woman would die for him. The gllow on his face showed how happy he was that finally his life is moving in the correct way.
Raman stood thier in the mirror looking at himself thinking. He was smiling to himself. He was probably the most happiest person ever today. He thanked his stars. He finally got what he was waiting for, something deserving of him today. Not someone behind wealth or materialtic things, someones like HIM, who received happiness in making other people happy and through the things money cannot buy. He was happy that Ishita made him a better person today and made him back what he was.
----------
Mihir didnt bother to come to the Bhallas, actually his sister wanted to be there to dress him for this occasion, and regardless of what kind of woman she is/was, Raman didnt stop her or him, as it was thier personal matter. However Mihir had respected this, and chose to get ready alone with his sister at his place.
-----------------
On the other hand the Iyers were getting ready. Mihika was dressed first, everyone's reasoning was she was the diva and she always took housrs in the bath, so imagine her wedding day. She was ready in a slight red and green saree, with very heavy jewelry to compliment her outfit. The usual Iyer's tradition of lending the jewelry to the bride on the wedding day.
On the other side was Ishu, pretty much frustrated. Already taken a bath and makeup down sitting in the blouse and skirt. She was wearing a fully covered dress. Being the modest person she and Raman are, they just chose some fully covered. It was a short sleeve aqua green silk blouse with aqua blue beading embroidery. The top was a little heavy, but it was acombination of the duo's favorite colors. The skirt was a heavy read near maroon color fully embroidered with aqua blue and green beading. It was very beautiful. The dupatta was evern more heavy. They didn't bought it this heavy but Mrs. Bhallah got it embroidered more. According to her people in the north believed the mre heavier the dupatta the more love there is in keeping with the family, since she loved her DIL so dearly she sent it out for more embroidery. In reality Ishita knew it was all a show-off since Mrs. Bhalla loves drama. But although the dress was so heavy it was in no way tacky at all. It was so beautiful and even though Ishita wasnt fully ready she was still looking out of the world, obviousy since she had such a beautiful wedding glow on her, she ought to look gorgeous. She could hear people telling her Raman would turn mad tonight.
She smiled while the beautician continued working on her. She was really happy today. Thinking about one year ago and now, how she hates Raman Kumar BHallah so much and the difference today. She thanked every bad moment in her life. She was so happy to get someone just like her. Finding happiness with simple things yet have a super sttractive and sexy attitude. She laughed at the fact that an attitude could be sexy, she was really turning overly-crazy-in-love with this man. She was so glad that Subbu had left her. Or else how would she get a extra-caring and loving husband and MIL FIL and other family members? She alsways wanted a big family, and since she thinks she cant have any of her own, this man has even given her this,. MOST importantly his daughter, now thier daughter. Ruhi was getting so big. Just then Ruhi came in, happily as ever in her red lehenga saree, dressed pretty as ever. She told Ishu, Pap was looking so handsome and was ready already, also the baraat was taking so many pictures.
-------------
It was the wedding, the ceromny was going on at once, the times were the same but a little different. It was over, sindoor was on and the mangalsutra as well as wedding rings.
Pictures were taken during everything, the sindoor part, the exchange of garlands, the eating everything.
It was over and Raman being a Punjabi had lift Ishu to the car when the baraat was ready to left home.
Thankfully there was no crying for bahus as the Iyers knew that these Pujabis were good people at heart.
Ghar pravesh was to be done now itself. Everything seemed so rush, but that how it was. Mihika went to her home and Shagun did her ghar pravesh and left. On the other side it was Ishita and Raman. Everything was done prim-proper. Ishita and Raman were both enjoying these traditional-relisigoues aspects of thier beautiful fresh beginning. Raman and Ishita entered the Bhalla's flat with thier right foot with the belief that everything will happen 'right' in thier lives. They had the ring ceromany and it was done very loyally from both sides. Ishita won it, and that had hurt Raman's ego playfully, and poor Raman couldn't even find his name on Ishita's hands. All laughed at his stupidity and teased him that he only had the 'night' on his mind.
Ruhi had left, told her parents goodbye until Sunday- The day Ishita and Raman were to come back from thier 5 day 'honeymoon' kam hotel stay. Actually the hotel stay wass a gift from Bala and Vandu. They did inform Ishita beforehand, so she could tell Raman. They also were taking Ruhi and Shravan to some 5 day zoo visit before vacations could end. Truthfully, Bala had decide to allow this newly wed couple to spend some time alone, even if its 5 days away from everyone.
---------
They went straight to thier hotel room..
The room was decorated, in green and red.Odd combination both of them thought, with the fact that romance was only limited to red and white colors, but regardless the odd combination looked really good. They were scented candles all over and a big heart shaped petals of roses in the middle of the bed. Both of them just smirked. The most awaited moment was here and poof both of them were way too tired to even think about it. They smiled and looked at each other.
It was evident both Raman and Ishu were tired. They did want some special private moments but..seriously these two days just was too much. They sat and for the first time they felt so out of it. They felt awkward due to each other's presence. At first their was so much silence and all unil Raman broke into a hug. They did hug for a long time, and just kissed. Nothing passionate or anything. The broke off and Raman helped her in takig off her jewelry, each time sliently telling her how beautiful she looked with and without the jewelry. after this was done, he loosened her bloused and allowed her to the bathroom to change.
Ishita came out, in a soft body fitting long nighty dress. A light blue in color with lace. The nightie was actually sleeveless and it wasn't exposing much at all. It was fully covered but her shape was printed out completely. Raman was awestruck, but he controlled himself. He was too tired and if anything was done tonight it would probably the worst turn off ever he thought.
Raman went to the bathroom, changed and cme out, by the Ishita was getting ready to lie down and Raman came. They just sit and then talked. Randomly about the wedding ceremonies and bits of peices fo the wedding. Nither of them wanted to talk about or mention anything related to SR, the main reason they were in the hotel room all the way away from LajpatNagar. The 4 hour drive from home to here, probaby another reason why they two were so tired. Raman was cursing Bala for choosing such a far-aaway city and hotel away from home.
It was the night. so they really didn't know what facilites the hotel was offering and it was both of thier's frist visit to the hotel.
Anyways, it was Raman who lied down fist, then Ishu..Raman came a bit closer to Ishu and first they held hand casually then locked them. They were a bit uncomfortable and just then Raman grabbed Ishu confortably in a 'sleep-hug'. What was a sleep-hug? Raman on his right side lying down, with Ishita's back against his chest and Raman hands all over her stomoch right under her chest and hands locked together.
Eventually they slept until morning
