Sameer Dharmadhikari, who was last seen in the historical
Jhansi Ki Rani playing Gangadhar Rao, has now been roped in a mythological serial
Mahabharat. He will be seen playing the role of king Shantanu. Says Sameer, "The entire story of
Mahabharatbegins with Shantanu and though I am doing a cameo it's a pivotal role." And yet, initially Sameer was not keen to do the role.
"After essaying a king for one-and-a-half-years I didn't want to do it again. But the producer (Siddharth Kumar Tewary) with whom I was to do another show said he wanted to begin the show with me and I got convinced," smiles Sameer who was impressed with the scale of the show. "It's being shot in Madhya Pradesh, Kashmir and Umargaon in Gujarat ' it's a treat for me," he quips.
The actor who was missing in action for some time reveals that he had taken a break from acting for three months and training for cricket. "I was part of the Cricket Club League and was practising for the tournament. My team reached till the semi-finals, but it was great fun," he says gearing up to return to the sets.
